Recapitulation: or just Capitulation: We proved we could throw interceptions with any team in the NFL. Our OL was inconsistent and brilliant in places, which is pretty much what we expected. Our DL was pushed around like tissue paper. Hamdan was better than expected but was let down by his OL. On the balance, our first string offense looked good until the interception. Some players, like Hall should consider a career in the exciting food/service industry. Jenkins can almost push off and almost make catches from Losman in the UFL. Xavier Oman, who couldn't run past the line of scrimmage last year was a refreshing success. Owens caught two passes and looked like he was sucking lemons most of the game wondering how he can execute a trade back to Dallas.

I want them to open up the playbook in the regular season.

The Bills should be watching the film of the Super Bowl over and over and over again. Most of the players on this team are underachieving, one contract players, and should see what a championship team looks like. They should be striving to match the intensity and technique of the players they see in the Super Bowl. If they aren't there to win a championship and become the premier players at their positions, what are they there for? What Pro Bowl players we have been consistently several classes below the best the past decade. I'm encouraged by the draft and the pick up of Terrell Owens, who will surely be gone after this season. Edwards will develop further and hopefully will be a breakout player in 2009. But most of the rest of the team can be awfully pedestrian and uneven. Coaching sucks here and I worry that a great draft class will be wasted by poor development.

The best trick play is the one that works. The worst trick play is the one that doesn't work.

I thought the most compelling part of the ESPN article was the section where it talked about his four offensive coordinators, three of which had never held the job before. Would he have succeeded if Wilson would have brought real coaching talent to Buffalo?

Vick is on the decline and will probably want substantial cash. I'd like to say he never lost a step while in prison, but that is wishful thinking, and with his running intuition, makes him a bigger target for linemen and linebackers. He would be the second major distraction after TO for a team that is trying to get its act together for the first time in a decade. This is Edwards' year to succeed or fail, if not, we'll be drafting QB in 2010 and starting all over again, probably without TO who won't want to stick around a rebuilding club a second year. He probably won't be alone. I'd go.

Starting a new football league in the middle of a recession. Not too bright, are we.

This is a sure sign that Lee Evans is a dedicated worker both off the field and on. Surely, he will benefit from being around this kind of talent and technique. It's also a sure sign that we need to cough up the coin to keep Owens to deflect attention from Evans so he can deliver on his potential.

What scares me is that our GM is a marketing geek (apologies to marketing geeks). Our drafted players all seemed to say the right things upon being drafted by the Bills. What if they are our usual loser picks with a script?

This is supposed to be Jauron's specialty. Why aren't we 1st in the league?
