  1. Nolan Nawrocki has released his final mock draft at PFW and has hit on the Bills' first selection three years in a row. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr.../mock042509.htm 11. Buffalo Bills (D) — DE Aaron Maybin, Penn State* The Bills need an end who can rush from either the right or the left side, and Maybin fits the bill and has as much upside as any pass rusher in the draft. He is a great fit for Perry Fewell’s defense. 28. Buffalo Bills (from Carolina through Philadelphia) — OT Eben Britton, Arizona* The Bills could look inside for a versatile interior player after giving up on Derrick Dockery, but Britton could help inside or outside and helps replace Jason Peters. He has Orakpo dropping to Denver at 12, and Macklin to the Jets at 17, Oher to the Lions at 20, and Pettigrew to the Patriots at 23.
  2. I love the idea, myself. Pick up a couple of bookend DE's and rack up the sacks for the future. Maybe trade some old, expensive meat away for future draft picks.
  3. I've been watching the different draft orders for the past week or so. Some show OT or TE being filled in later rounds. What are the chances the Bills could take two DE's (DE/OLB) in the first round? 11. Brian Orakpo, Texas (OLB/DE) 28. Everett Brown, Fla. St. (DE)
  4. I'd be happy if we could score touchdowns from the one once in a while. Every time I see the Bills at the opponent's one yard line, I'm wondering how we're not going to get into the end zone this time.
  5. With the #11 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select... Vince Ferragamo, quarterback, Nebraska.
  6. I'm a fan, but every spring I fall for the spin from the coaches and journalists smiling and preening from 1 Bills Drive, expounding how this team is a playoff team. I lose all sanity and salivate all over my hdtv waiting for opening day (I can't abide pre-season games). And every season I get a Bills football team that can't explain why they're losing and can't (or won't) make mid-season improvement. I've seen the schedule. Let's be honest. The offensive line won't gel, the defensive line won't gel, and Edwards could single-handedly transform the quarterback position by mastering the passing game from beneath defensive linemen. Before the draft and before the after-draft enthusiasm - "we've got two or three players who will start on week 1!" - and before the training camp, "we're gonna win the division!," bs, here's the reality: 6-10, if we're lucky. I really like Owens, but I really fear he can't save us. We need a real GM. Week 9: 2-6. Bye, Dick. Thanks for nothing. Why can't we hire real coaches, with real talent, and with a real chance of being paid more than half the next highest paid coach from the bottom?
  7. I hate to say it, but if Niagara Falls were going to improve, it would have already. The American side has been a dump for decades and I just can't see how pouring money into a continually non-visionary city government makes a lot of sense. That also assumes we'll ever get the chance for such an option. The "LA option" is the compelling issue.
