  1. Perry Fewell At least he had the Bills ready to play each week and he now has a Super Bowl winner to his credit!
  2. I can't believe I still follow this team for over 50 years. It's always heartache or frustration. losing to Chiefs AFL championship before the first Super Bowl, Fergie lost his shoe against SD in playoffs, Kelly's TD drop against Browns in 89, wide right, Music City disaster, McElvins fumble against Pats, Dallas loss on MNF and now this. The joy of being a Bills fan. here we go again!
  3. I am still an optimist and feel that several teams that look unbeatable can be beaten (MN over SF, OAK over PIT in week 3) Patriots have had our number for many many years so a loss like this is not that troubling. Jets look like they are taking a nosedive and we still haven't even played Miami yet. On the other hand, if Fitz can't throw long, why can't they try someone else for a play (maybe Brad Smith)
  4. I was there too. Did some tailgating with some Browns as my daughter's boyfriend is from Ohio. Most fans were civil to Bills fans because we aren't the Steelers or Ravens and have so much in common (heartache) over the years. There were probably as many Kosar jerseys and Kelly. Although there were a few tense moments when Bills lost their composure (after the supposed fumble) it was all & all good time. I have had a similar experience at Gillette. Away games are tough with the hostile crowd, but I usually keep relatively quiet (Bills have helped me) I was wondering how opposing fans are treated at our stadium?
  5. Very sorry to hear this tragic news. Hopefully Marcell can bring some comfort to his family. Our prayers are with him and the rest of his family.
  6. I have been a Bills fan since the 60s although I was more of an NFL guy before the merger. My brother was a fan of Bills before me, but I didn't go to my first game until 1975. My friend and I drove in from Rochester and saw OJ run in the rain. I moved to Buffalo in 1977 and went to quite a few games over the years (mostly losses) until Chuck Knox turned things around. Moved to Miami in 83 just as Marino and Company destroyed the Bills routinely and I had to endure. Our QB took a while to come to Buffalo but by then I was in DC so I could make it to WNY to watch games with my brother again. The Giants SB was an amazing journey and when we went back to play the Redskins, I had to endure the hometown fans ripping me again. My boss (a Redskins season ticket holder) at the time gave me solace by saying that although they won it wears off pretty quickly and you feel sad that the season is over. I've only been back to Buffalo for one game in 1999 when Flutie played against the Giants and we lost on a last second field goal. I've had the Sunday ticket since 2001 and unfortunately have endured the past decade in New England, but I still love my Bills. Lately, I have been to Gillette twice to see Bills lose in 2008 and again in 2010. Lots of memories and I call my brother afetr every win to revel (we skip the losses) My brother lost his wife a few years ago and I try to call more often, but it is most fun after a win. Hopefully this year we will talk a lot. Thanks for listening and Go Bills!!!!
  7. New England had 31st ranked defense and Green Bay was last. Is defense that important if you have a QB? Just sayin.
  8. I was at a game in the early 80s that I left early and wished I hadn't. It started snowing and we thought the game was lost, so we left. I'm pretty sure it was the Patriots. Fergy threw a hail mary to Roland Hooks for the winning score.
  9. I live in New England and have to put up with blowhard Pats fans on Christmas Eve. I'm glad they had a close call with Green Bay so they may be a little less vocal about how they will blast the Bills. I was at the game at Gillette for Fitz's first start this year and I have to tell you there were some nervous Pats fans when Spiller ran back the kickoff in the first half. Even when they seemed to have things in hand, Fitz hit Stevie for a touchdown and actually was driving for another score when he through teh ill timed interception. I'm hoping for a close game in the 4th and a little post-Christmas luck. Go Bills!
  10. In the same statistics page, Fitz is #2 in 3rd and long passes completed at 40%. If you look long enough.
  11. I'm with you and will have a lot of fun at the game if we somehow pull it off Sunday. I'm hoping the defense and special teams make a play and we don't blow it like last year. Luck has to change sometime and there is usually one big upset in AFC East each year. As the Ford guy says Why not us? Why not now
  12. Absolutely. Met quite a few Bills fans last time (2 years ago) I don't think I could have stood the MNF loss last year. Should be a good time. Nice stadium and I have pretty good seats on the corner near the South end zone.
  13. I got tickets to Patriots Bills a couple of weeks ago before the season went south. Although I didn't expect much, I thought Gailey would have gotten more out of the offense than he has. Since we didn't fix line or QB, I am happy that he went with Fitz. At least it will be different. After watching the first two games our only hope is lull the Pats to sleep and maybe make a big play. I don't know about you but living up here the past 9 years, I would like nothing more than to see the Bills finally break the streak. I go back a ways but the euphoria that we could experience of breaking this streak reminds me of 0 for the decade against the Dolphins. Either now or at home but one win against the Patsies would be sweet. I don't expect miracles Sunday, but it sure would be fun to see the faces on the fair weather Pats fans if we could somehow pull it off. Go Bills!
  14. Just wanted to thank you folks for the discount information. I got $120 off last year and wasn't as greedy this time. I am still wavering on the HD price and noticed they are dealing on that. This year I wasn't as pushy but they immediately knocked $60 off the renewal price for this year. They told me $49 for dish installation and HD receiver and $10 a month. Is it worth it?
  15. I was at Bills/Pats last year and was surprised at how many Bills fans were there. No one bothered me at all, probably since we don't ever beat them. I think you'll love the stadium, but getting out of there is a real mess. Plan on sticking around for a few hours after.
  16. Those 60s era Bills teams were something to watch. Bills almost made the first Super Bowl. Before the AFL championship game, I remember seeing a picture of Jack Kemp holding a big $25,000 check which was the winners share in those days. Great guy and very compassionate.
  17. Has anyone heard anything about a possible trade after the draft. I saw one comment about Cincinnati dealing Levi Jones based on their draft of OT from Alabama (name escapes me). What would/should give up for him?
  18. Does anyone think the Bills are considering a draft day trade of one of their current running backs. We have a lot of holes to fill and just added another now that Peters is gone.
  19. Thanks. My daughter goes to school in Ohio (Dayton) but not until the following week. I will see if one of my WNY friends wants to go on a road trip with me for the weekend and we'll see what happens. It should be a great time for all the Bills fans who surely will come. I am amazed there are still tickets. McFaddens sounds like a great time if you can get in. That's the NYC bar scene everywhere.
  20. I've seen several posts about the game, but its on Monday night so I probably couldn't stay. I was wondering if anyone knew how hard it was to attend the induction ceremony on Saturday. While it is a long trip from CT, I'd like to be there if I could. I went to the HOF museum a couple of years ago after Thurman was enshrined and thpought it was terrific for the price $18. Another topic, what and where is the Bils bar in NYC on draft day. I will be in the city that day and might stop by to see a few Bills fans. I'm sure people will start early, but we probably won't pick until close to 6 pm that day.
  21. Not to get off subject, but I ran into a non-football fan from Toronto the other day and asked her opinion about the Bills moving to Toronto. She wasn't even aware thta this possibility existed and said the Argos are Toronto's football team. My theory is that at least 50% of Toronto doesn't care one way or another (maybe higher) The Bills belong in Western NY and even though I haven't lived there for 25 years, I continue to root for the team and subscribe to DirecTV just top get their games. Here in rabid Giants/Patriots territory, it gets very annoying at how we continue to lose to these teams. I went to the boring Bills/Patriots game last year and was amazed at how many Bills fans there were at the sky high prices in Patriotland. Someone even came up to me and told me how nice it was to have a Bills fan on hand. I am not sure how I would feel if they moved to Toronto, but with player movement these days, it is really hard to root for a team (think how you would have felt seeing Jim Kelly as a Baltimore Raven. Your thoughts?
  22. Give people a break. At least its fun to think about finally getting a tight end. Where is Pettigrew's stock in the draft these days?
  23. Peppers fpr Peters straight up. One overpaid player for another. Sounds like fun!
  24. I think OCs are way overrated. Having talent on the field is much more important than the playcalling. TOs presence is going to make Schonert look like a genious (well maybe not) but wait to see if Arizona has a dropoff with Haley, the OC dejeur gone. For that matter did the Patriots dropoff when Charlie Weis left?
