  1. He is 29 if they are drafted at 21-22 and they are aging at 29 when is their prime?

When your in a position that is so dependent on speed and movement like RB, CB you lose your skills quickly. Its no coincidence that even GREAT RBs (like LT) hit a wall at 30 and cant cut it as starters anymore. The Bills could have paid Greer the same money they signed McGee for. He is 3 years younger, In better shape, and more upside to his career. You COULD say that Greer is in his prime. McGee is tailing off for his career. Bad move the Bills made with him IMO. Time will tell, but Id put money on it that we will all be comlaining about McGee and the lack of playing time he sees because of injury within a year. Ill be saying I called it for 2+ years now (since I said last offseason this is what would happen)

  2. yeah but mcgee is by far our best corner

Disagree completely. Florence was our best CB this year by far. And thats including the games that McGee actually played in. Hes never on the field and when he is, hes banged up. Resigning McGee was a very large "Aaron Schobel/Chris Kelsey type" mistake. Problem is they couldnt not do it because everyone would have hung them for letting another CB go. They signed the wrong one. Should have signed Greer and let go of McGee. In fact we might have actually been able to trade McGee last off season and actually gotten something for him. Now we have him for years when he has trouble being in half the season. YAY!!!

  3. Anyone that thinks that DB is not a position of need is actually kidding themselves. We are not that strong at CB. Of course we have safties out the wazoo but we are very thin at CB, especially after this year. Youboty will not be resigned, Florence in his last year, McGee is ALWAYS injured (and shouldnt have been resigned IMO), and McKelvin...as much as we love him, he is unknown at this point. He may come back and look like absolute crap. He has been out for a full season. Thats a long time for a young player to be out and still progress.

Ill put $1000.00 on it right now that McGee misses at least 4 games this year and will be banged up for at least another 3-4.:unsure::ph34r::sick::angry::doh::(

  4. Davis is an extremely talented player, but he has had issues with work ethic, according to several reports on him. Is he worth the risk?

There has to be a time where everyone in Buffalo forgets about Mike Williams. Just because we had one bad apple doesnt mean that everyone is. It also comes down to who is pushing them and driving their work ethic.

With that said, I dont know much about college OL's so this is a nice bit of info.

It sounds like with the short arms, that Baluga is better suited for the inside and not cut out for T. He may not get any better at T like Casserly stated, but could turn into a monster G.

Davis sounds like a great pick to me. But IMO I want a stud LB in the 1st round and then the best OL available in the 2nd round. If Casserly is correct that 4-5 of these guys might go before pick 10, then we might have a real shot at a stud like McClain. If we came back around and got the best DT, or OL available it would look good for us.

Our line this year will most likely stay the same. Butler will be back and start at RT, Wood might be moved to C if we keep Incognito. Would be better on Wood as far as movement concerns with the ankle. Were just short a LT. We pick up one veteran FA and draft one in round 2 or 3 and we should be ok.

  5. Anyone that is against these cuts has no idea what the hell they are talking about. These players (and many others on the roster) are directly related to this team being sub par over the past 10 years. We sacrifice our 3rd and 4th string LB's for guys like Palmer, Corto, and other guys like Wendling for our 5th best safety so that we can have decent special teams play. Its a joke, and it was proven as most of our LB's went down this season and we moved one of our safeties to LB because Palmer wasnt as good. Thats just great. On top of it, April proved that with some minor rule changes he was not the genius that everyone thought he was. Maybe he was a product of his players, like Roscoe Parrish and Leodis McKelvin. Isnt it funny that our special teams sucked and Leodis was injured, McGee barely played (because hes old and beat up and too high of a risk for KR because of this), Roscoe proved that hes not so great (IMO hes getting old, losing some speed and elusiveness) and turning into any other stud KR/PR in the league in recent memory. Wheres Dante Hall now? Wheres Devin Hester. Thats right, Hester is playing WR, because he actually has some decent football skill and hes not 170lbs soaking wet. He weights 190, which is pretty darn close to being normal size for an NFL WR. Roscoe weights 170. There are highschool players that weight that much. Let April and Dicky pick some of these guys up on the Eagles. I could care less. Guys like this hurt our roster for actual players that mean anything. Any scrub can make ST's in the NFL. And thats why no one is in the HOF. Its a joke unless your a supreme talent. And that doesnt happen often. Get rid of guys like Kelsey, Schobel, Mitchell, Whitner and Parrish too. These guys arent good enough to start on good teams in the NFL. Mitchell was the 4th best LB for the Giants in a 3-4. Thats not saying much. He was the weak link of their LB's who happened to have a great game in the Super Bowl. Yeah, hes had 3 games like that in 2 years with us. Its a joke. This team is a joke if we continue to think these guys are better then they actually are.

Cut em all Chan and Buddy!!!

  6. Still no reply to this. I am also curious why people call it a POS.

    I wouldnt expect one Billnut.

Chances are some people that complain dont know. Or are the people that complained after the Power Outage game against San Diego that the bathrooms were horrendous. We made some national news about how bad it was. Rich Yuppy Pricks that didnt realize that because the power was out nothing was working properly. The bathrooms are already bad at the Ralph, but its not like we stand around in 3 inches of piss and crap every game.

  7. this is to all those young bucks out here who want a new stadium to be like every other city. i whole heartedly disagree for multiple reasons. the first, we have one of hte oldest AFC stadiums left and it be nice to maintain it and every 10 or 15 years give it a big rehab like Soldier or LAmbeau field. 2nd, it be nice once RW is passed on to rename it Rich STadium the way it was and is and should always be. Finally, the seating arrangement. no where else in the NFL (or very fewp laces) can people like everyone on here afford good seats and good tickets and be on top of the action. Have you guys been to these new stadiums? It costs an arm an a leg to get decently close (ie not below the third tier). When the bills and jets both sucked in 2008 i still had to spend 200 total for 50 yard line seats in the 2nd tier at the meadowlands. that place is a crap hole....

the browns stadium, eagles, ravens, bengals, etc - they are all the same. ive ben to them - they look and feel the exactly same. sure, the upper bowls are closer to the field then the ralph, but thats the ONLY place the average fan can afford to sit. luxury boxes take up all the great seats that we still have thankfully. so do club suites. and any time you build a new stadium prices go up, and our area can't continue to sell out games at an avg ticket price of 75/per.

WE need to be smart about this and take some pride in Rich stadium.

this is the article that says it best (and he hates buffalo as we all know):

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story.../partone/081121

You realize that Rich Products had naming rights to the stadium right?!? If they Bills do stay in Buffalo after Ralph dies, I would put money on it that the stadium will Ralph Wilson Stadium for a very long time.

I do agree with your point about spending money on big money stadiums and then jacking up the prices. The truth is, even without a new stadium our ticket prices will close to double within 5 years of Ralph dying. If they stay here that is. What we need is upgrades like you stated, an additional end zone level where the scoreboard is now, one that has restaurants, shops, and other NFL game day experiences.

  8. There I said it...

I know Lee is a great player, I know he is a great team player, I know he still has productive years ahead. I hate the bills underutilize him. I am a huge fan of his work ethic, and I do not blame his lack of offensive output on him or his abilities.

    That said-

This franchise is years away from having a solid QB situation, the Line is still problematic and even with a reputable second threat, he was still underutilized. There are plenty of receivers in the league that can put up a 600 yard season. Lee is the Ferrari we can’t drive over 35 m.p.h. and won’t have the ability to until he starts breaking down himself.

Meanwhile, Lee is in his prime. He is the 2 or 3rd highest paid WR in the league. I suspect there are a number of teams that believe they are one Lee Evans away from a ring. Manning could use Evans to replace the void left by Harrison as one example, there are more. (SD, NE- though I would never advocate it, etc.)

I argue he is one of the Bills with the most external value and his low productivity on the bills (due to QB , scheme, cast) would be most easily replaced by a serviceable veteran, journeyman or 4th-6th round rookie.

    +1

  9. Hogwash. George Edwards left a cushy DC job at Florida to come to freaking Buffalo. Players continually talk about how they love the fan support. If there is ANY reason players don't want to come here, it's the weather -- and that's it. NFL players are trying to make all the $$ they can while they are in their prime, and very few have the "luxury" of picking and choosing where they end up.

Honestly, I think your 100% wrong. NFL stars dont give 2 s*$ts about the fans. They use those comments to make the fans think they love them, so that the fans can cheer for them. So the owner can see they cant get rid of that player cause there will be a revolt from the fan base. Why you think the Pats never even thought about trading Brady when he was injured? Cassel might be better at this point in their careers but the city of Boston would burn to the ground if the golden boy was on the block. Its money, and winning teams, thats all the players care about. And honestly, winning teams arent always that important. As long as your not a joke of an organization that is. :bag:

  10. One thing I am sure of: he can hit.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL :bag:, If i could find the little icon of the smiley face falling over and laughing I would put that up there too. What a joke. He was creamed last season an messed up his shoulder on a play didnt he? He is always behind the play, always playing catch up. Hes the safety version of Poz and Mitchell. Id be happy to give Donte away for a case of beer for the rest of the real players to enjoy.

  11. Schobel says he wants to play closer to home, plus he has the 2nd highest salary on the team and is getting older. He did have a rebound season, but can he keep it up and how will the transition to the 3-4 affect his game? I'd say try and make a trade with Houston or Dallas, that way he can be close to home. Since we're transitioning to a new defense and basically are rebuilding this team, I'd rather go with a younger, faster guy that will be around longer than Schobel. (Just my opinion)

Evans has not been able to put up consistent numbers since he's been here. One week, he'll have over 100 yards receiving, then followed by 2, 3 or 4 games where he's lucky to put up 40 to 50 yards. You don't pay a guy $9+ million a year to be a #2 receiver. Granted, we haven't had solid play at QB, but Evans is a short, speedy WR, once the speed is gone, they're not that useful (look at Peerless Price). Plus, in bad weather/snowy games, the snow takes away the speed, so you should go with a big physical WR. I'd like to see the Bills trade Evans for Brandon Marshall, Marshall is not happy in Denver and would be a upgrade over Evans. As a matter of fact, they should trade or cut loose Parrish as well. We have James Hardy & Stevie Johnson on the team, and we haven't been able to get a good look at those guys, so if the Bills decided to turn the page on Reed & Parrish, I would have no problem with that.

I for one agree with you. I really like Evans. Ive met the guy a few times. Hes a great guy to be around and hes good for this football team. But you dont pay a guy all the money you are paying him to put up his numbers. He is a severe dissapointment. IMO, he is a #2 WR at best. The Bills, and the Fans love him too much to see it, but hes really not that good. Your point on his weekly breakdown is 100% accurate. I dont care who his QB's have been. He had TO on the other side of him this year and he was still shut down. He is easily defendable IMO. He can run fast, beat the defender deep and thats it. He is not powerful enough to succeed as a #1. A true #1 makes the defense change the way they play, and will still put up big plays. You dont see guys like Brandon Marshall complaining about his stats because he had Orton thowing him the Ball. Dominant WR's can do it with anyone throwing them the ball. Calvin Johnson before Stafford is a perfect example of that. We made a bad choice resigning Evans to that huge deal.

  12. Wow, after reading some of this, holy stupid Bills fans!!!! Yes, the guy was taken too high in the draft, but he's a 3rd stringer behind Scott/Wilson?!?!?! :w00t: Trade him for a bag of football?!?!?1  Straight up for Vick?!?!?! So much for Bills fans being some of the smarter fans in the league. Nice job guys, as if there weren't enough people bashing the B-Lo.............

Your right. Whitner shouldnt even be 3rd striner behind Scott and Wilson, he should have been cut. A bag of footballs is prolly too much in return for him. Id say 1 really nice, new football and its a good deal. And Philly would never make the trade straight up for Vick. They would be losing out on the deal.

Whitner is a waste of sperm. His father should have finished in the sink instead. He talks entirely too much crap for the horrible play that comes from him. He and Mitchell are one in the same. More tweeting than actually doing. I say this... Shut your mouth Donte and Kawicka and do your jobs. Less talky, more worky.

  13. McNabb and TO were hanging out this past weekend in Miami -- they were even taking photos together and tweeting about it. I guess that relationship is on the mend.

Thanks Chicago Mike. I wouldnt be suprised if they are better now. Both of these guys have grown up and matured a little since they were last together. It wouldnt suprise me if we did get McNabb that TO would stay. He did have the best years of his career with him after all. Until knowing they were again on speaking terms I doubted it. But knowing this is huge. If we get McNabb, you may see TO stay. If thats the case were only a few decent OL'men away from a solid offense. IMO.

  14. Gailey and the new Def Cord have already said the Bills will be running a 3-4 out of the box but will mix it up and be somewhat of a hybrid defense. If (big if) Maybin can play OLB, then you keep Poz and Mitchell at ILB and need to pick up a new OLB on the other side. You move Stroud and Williams to DE's and pick up a stud DT and waalaa, your defense is solved. You can keep Ellison to back up just about any LB position, and you can keep Schobel to fill in as OLB if needed, or you can keep Schobel and Kelsey for that hybrid (really just an in game change to a 4-3 to confuse the offense) defense they are talking about.

  15. All of them...every painful minute. I have to agree that the line should look good this year, with the addition of an LT.

I was impressed with Incognito in his brief stint here. I feel that keeping him at RG and putting Wood at C is a great move. Levitre was impressive all year long, and Butler can play RT, if he can stay on the field.

All great lines start somewhere, and I think we have a great line in the making. Levitre and Wood gained a lot of valuable experience, and if you add Incognito and Butler, that is a very young, very solid line. The only thing missing is the all-important LT.

McNabb allows us to get an LT in Rd 1. I still want McClain, but I think an LT would be better for the franchise in the long-run.

Agree with the thoughts on the OLine. Ive never played OL so I cant speak from complete knowledge here but It seems like C takes less moving around on your feet than a G who is pulling on certain plays and making rushes upfield with the RB's. Moving Incognito to RG, and Wook at Center would make the interior of our line pretty mean and nasty. Would be better for Wood's leg and get him on the field faster I think too. Butler is (if he can stay healthy) a decent answer at RT if we can pick up a LT in round 2 were looking pretty good. And you have Bell, Scott, and Handgartner to back up. Handy can fill in at any of the interior roles, and Bell, Scott can work on the T's if needed.

I like the thought of McNabb or Vick here. Personally I think were better off with Vick because then we might actually have a shot at keeping TO as well. And that would be one less draft pick on another WR that nobody knows will be any good. If we get McNabb most likely TO will set sail out of town, but he has already stated how he thought Vick would be good for us. It might give him reason to stick around.

Either way, I wouldnt give up anything more than a #3 included with some other compensation. How bout we give them Lynch for either QB straight up? That way we keep out picks and were still looking ok. You can get a RB late in the draft that can be servicable, especially since Freddy has proved he can handle the load.

We will need a LB and LT in the draft for sure. IMO we take McClain, and then the best LT available in the 2nd round. If we took Vick and kept TO because of that signing we could be looking pretty good.

However I do agree that we are at least a year or 2 away from making any real splash. But a veteran QB could make us respectable right away.

  16. It is my opinion that the talent on this team is sub-par.

Hardy, Trent, Lynch, Poz, Mitchell, Schobel, Kelsey, McGee, Whitner, Evans (as I believe that a true #1 gets open and changes defenses, which he doesnt do and thats even with TO on the other side).

I think they are all tradable, if not cutable at this point. However, I do believe that with the previous coaching regime this group of underachievers could have been much better. Chalk it up to poor coaching/training, or stupidity of not knowing when or how to get some of these guys more involved. Call it mismanagement if you will.

I find it so funny that guys like Freddy are on the roster but it takes Lynch getting in serious trouble to finally get Freddy on the field. Or why is it that we saw a ton of Stevie Johnson at the end of 08 but I dont think I saw him even one time in 09. How could they be big on this guy a year before and then have him off the radar completely in the next season?

It finally took big screw ups on returns to finally realize that Roscoe is a waste of space in the NFL. He was never even that good at returns and now his speed and abilities are declining with age he is showing his true value.

Why is it that we let go of a young and healthy Greer, but signed an aging, battered, always injured and declining McGee to a long term deal on his final year of his contract?

    My point is this...

The past regime was absolutely rediculous. I honestly think that monkeys throwing poop at a board with the answers on it could have done a better job. I give my full approval with the changes that have been made. They werent all the sexiest picks for coaches and GM. But they are solid, with good coaching, analyzing careers. I believe we are much better than we were a year ago at this time and feel that this coaching staff can turn it around, and maybe even some of those players with it.

Heres to hoping our previous regime was so bad that everyone on this team is a possible superstar but was underutilized and mismanaged.

  17. I agree Hardy, Nelson AND Stevie J. could be effective receivers...but, we need to first establish that we are a POWER RUNNING team. We need to build the exterior of our offensive line, as I believe we are set in the middle with Levitre-Wood-Incognito...

...and we need a QB that can get these guys the ball. Trent Edwards and Brian Brohm show some potential, but I think it is time we start anew with Chan and Buddy's guy. Vick, Clausen, Tebow, Thigpen...whomever it is, I am instilling my trust and devotion to this "new" regime.

Until they prove their are not worth it, or are worse than the past 3 regimes...here's to the "NEW" Bills...

    Agree,

And i still love your avatar. dont ever get rid of it.

  18. so your serious...thigpen, brohm and lefevour are better than vick...i mean are u really REALLY serious? how long have you been watching football? i mean whats your motivation? tell me your just mad about the dogs because ill give you a pass, but if thats not the case you need your head examined. But your opinion is yours im just tryna see where your coming from?

I am a fan of bringing in Vick. But Thigpen did fairly well on an absolutely horrible team with horrible talent that would make the bills look like super bowl champs. Just saying.

  19. Well I'll say it, I'd be downright excited. Thigpen quite possibly has tremendous upside. Let's bring him in and make the three of them fight it out (Trent, Brohm and Thigpen). If Trent wins that show down then next year would truly be make or break for him.

If one of the other two lights it up then great. . . we found our QB of the future.

At the very least, one of the three QBs should be good enough to be a back up QB.

Most impotant, Thigpen in '10 means we can focus on using our #9 on an OT this year-- And worry about the franchise QB next year IF NEED BE.

    Agreed
