  1. I also am not so excited about big name coaches anymore. I just want the next one to be the right one. I am more interested in obtaining a top flight GM that has built a Super Bowl contender before. I still like Bruce Allen, Floyd Reese, and Ron Wolf.
  2. I don't know...I heard that he farts thunder after eating Mexican...
  3. Go back and read your NFL history, sir. Coaches, GM's, etc never interview while the job is still occupied.
  4. I agree that they should both be gone, but I disagree as they both have been as bad. Saying Modrak has been better than Guy is like saying Diarhea is better than nausea. They both suck.
  5. Now, I am wondering if Guy had some influence on the London Fletcher, Pat Williams, and Antoine Winfield losses. For instance, in all of his worthlessness, does the Director of Pro Personnel for a team also make the calls on their own roster? If that is the case, then I think Guy should be tar-and-feathered out of town...
  6. If you see the above referenced link, that article may help show you the light. Modrak is the Director of Scouting. DIRECTOR. He is in charge. He, along with his scouting staff, spend time during the college football season scouting and amassing information on players. Makes grades. He is largely responsible for creating the draft "board". Granted, the coaching staff may have an inferior scheme (Tampa 2 and its emphasis on undersized players), but ultimately Modrak and his scouting staff ARE RESPONSIBLE for providing the "Brain Trust" with the players and their respective rankings with which to draft from. Read the link I provided above (sorry, link did not appear as a hyperlink, you'll have to type it in). Modrak has had 8-9 years with which, at the very least, to scout and provide information on college players for our coaching staff to select. And for 8-9 years, his recommendations have clearly been mediocre. REgime change MUST include Modrak, or else this will continue.
  7. This is a dead-on article for all of the bone-heads that seem to be wondering if Modrak is the problem. Only fault with this article is that he forgot to mention John Guy needing to also be kicked to the curb- preferably with a steel toe boot.
  8. please see this link....http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true
  9. Oh, please do tell how Modrak is NOT a key failure of this franchise... How many draft picks did the Bills retain from 2000-2005. 6. Out of 50 draft picks, 6 are still with the team. How many #1 picks this decade are still with the team? 6 out of 12. And two of them- McCargo and Whitner- are suspect. I would put that number at closer to 4 or 5. Out of 12 players selected, once again that is a horrible record. You can do the same with the #2's and #3's selected this decade. On one hand, you have a Josh Reed or a Kyle Williams. On the other hand, you have a Roscoe Parrish, James Hardy, and Edwards. Again, I would say 50% average of quality yet again. That is a horrible (read: HORRIBLE) return on investment. Furthermore, with the exception of Butler and Wood, why has Modrak and his scouting staff proven to be so inept at drafting offensive linemen? Defensive linemen? QB's? Since Buffalo is a team that is strapped and is not going to overspend on big ticket free agents, then the team has to rely on the draft for most of its talent. Modrak has done nothing during his tenure (other than conduct Jauron-like mediocrity) to warrant keeping his job. But I am open to hearing why you believe that he is not to blame ALONG with Guy...
  10. I don't know how long you have been watching football, but normally, a team does not begin to interview candidates until there is a vacancy. Sorta like in the real world....
  11. nice work, Thoner. The one thing I think that you miss, is that we won't be having this kind of success with Modrak running the draft and Guy running the pro personnel department. We could trade away the entire team for draft picks, but Modrak will find a way to draft players that will either be constantly injured, gone in 2 seasons, or never make the squad. We need a real front office, a real, proven football GM, and then I will be more into trading and positioning in April.
  12. Good point. When given the choice, and when not being hijacked by the NFL blackout rule, how many fans would brave the elements of RWS in late November- December? I completely agree with the imbecile behavior that occurs at games. A true deterrent to any family involvement (as if the cost was not enough). But there is something truly depressing when an important, prime time, divisional game for a resurgent team is being played in the neutral confines of a foreign country.
  13. Let's be honest: the ticket prices are outrageous for those games. I don't fault the hard-working 12th man of WNY for not going. I do certainly fault the casual Toronto fan who seems to find it in their ability to come to WNY for a Bills game and create enough havoc at the stadium to get arrested, but then can't seem to muster the cojones to wear not only the appropriate gear (Bills jerseys), but to support the Bills and stop using it as some NFL-promoting, foreign country game. Living in NY City, alot of those people fart hundred dollar bills, and can afford a weekend trip to Toronto. I have a sinking suspicion that this will be a Jets "home" game again.
  14. thanks for the link, but it does no good unless one has the Insider. I think that the Jaguars are probably the most likely to move, regardless of hurdles to overcome. I don't see the Vikings moving with Brett Favre as QB, and a possible deep playoff run on the horizon. The Rams on the other hand, would be my #2 selection after Jacksonville. They moved from LA. It is clear that after the Limbaugh debacle, the Rams are for sale. They are currently a bad team, and ripe for a change in scenery, front office, personnel, etc. And I always thought the Rams belonged in LA.
  15. I'm onboard, but I am still too 'trentative' in putting all of my faith in this team. They're different under Fewell, and Sanchez is a friend of opposing secondaries, and there will be no Kris Jenkins, but I am still skeptical of an impending collapse. Jauron has conditioned me to believe in defeat. On a side: Does this NOT suck that this game is being played in Toronto? I'm all for regionalization, and understand that no one would go to see the Bills play the Lions, but do divisional games have to be the ones going north of the border?
  16. Still haven't answered my questions...
  17. Now that we're regionalized, they have become the retarded step-brother/ sister that has been brought into the family.
  18. True, true, true. I don't know what gives people the idea that to pay $50 or so on a ticket to see a football game entitles one to have sex in the bathrooms, start fights, shout profanities, and act like some idiot on an MTV "reality" show. As if, all sense and sensibility is thrown out the window because "I'm at the game".
  19. Please, please cease from this moral relativism balderdash, as it truly is rotting Western society from within. There are rules. Laws, even. Break the law, and there is a punishment. You know, like child-rearing? Moral relativists claim that they cling to science (i.e. Science is God), but then forget some of the very basic laws of science when arguing for their anarchy. For instance, for every action there is an equal and opposite REACTION? At what point does one get too many chances to "be cleansed"? Could Dahmer have been "cleansed"? How about child molesters, who see nothing wrong with their actions?
  20. Another monikerphobe? Zounds!
  21. Not entirely. I would fault the coaching staff for the scheme and/ or selection of players who will be starting on Game Day. As demonstrated by Fewell these past 2 weeks, a simple change in player selection can have tremendous benefits on your team. Fitzpatrick over Edwards, or Jackson over Lynch, for instance. Also, if Mauron is going to the scouting department and stating that he wants undersized but fast LB's, quick but smallish DE's, etc, then the scheme is the problem. Selecting to go with a no-huddle offense when you have an undersized defense, in hindsight, was also a boner idea. Now, when the Bills have failed to produce any offensive linemen worth a darn in the past 8 years (Butler and Wood exempt), or defensive linemen, or a QB, TE, or a receiver outside of Evans...it really does not bode well for the front office (i.e. Modrak). When you look at the overall talent level for the past 8 years, or look back to the draft history of the Bills from 2000-2005, during which they had 50 picks, and only 6 are still with the team, or the incredible problems they seem to have this decade with drafting any impact player in the first 3 rounds and that is your front office/ scouting department. That scouting department is headed by one Tom Modrak. We've had now 4 coaches this decade. How many QB's? How much player turnover? With all of these changes in personnel and philosophy, it has to be higher than anything on the field. The only consistents have been Modrak and Guy. If we want to see dramatic change, then Modrak and Guy have got to go.
  22. Judge me solely on my moniker? Monikerist! To use an all too familiar argument... your overriding phobia of monikers has you hurling insults at someone solely based on their moniker's appearance. Perhaps you are a Monikerphob...
  23. I could care less about draft position. As long as our front office is ridden of Modrak and Guy, and a proven GM is in place, I trust that any and all personnel decisions will be an improvement over what we currently have. Look at what Fewell has done with choosing Fitz over Edwards, and Jackson over Lynch? Where has Hardy been now that he is active? Parrish? That, respectively, are #3, #1, #2, and #2 picks not seeing the field. That an undrafted player is currently performing higher than your #1 pick, does not speak highly of the talents of one Mr. Modrak.
  24. But I thought Democrats were for diversity?
