  1. I guess you give more credit to a poet than QBR....interesting. Daniel D. Zillmer is a sports enthusiast who studied poetry for years. He's from the Midwest and developed an appreciation and understanding of sports from years spent watching and discussing games with his father. Columnist and Staff Writer for multiple sites. His work has been featured on BleacherReport.com, SportsIllustrated.com, Yardbarker.com, FoxSports.com, FanSided.com and CollegeSpun.com. He can be reached at dannyzillmerandwords@gmail.com.
  2. Wondering what happened to Sammy Watkins? EJ Manuel happened, that's what. Buffalo quarterback EJ Manuel was startlingly bad in his team's 22-10 loss to San Diego on Sunday. Let's begin with that observation. Manuel was just unreasonably bad by NFL standards. Weapons-grade bad. Destroy-the-evidence bad. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/fantasy-roto-arcade/wondering-what-happened-to-sammy-watkins--ej-manuel-happened--that-s-what-155456544.html
  3. your take on EJ is: #1- improved over last year, trending up. #2- plenty of room for growth #3- patience
  4. no thanks. Total QBR: #32 - EJ MANUEL #34 - Ryan Tannehill

  6. I love me some sacks.....so I miss the entertaining attacking style. but this defense is getting the job done. Team Defense Rushing Yards/Attempt: 2013 - 4.4 Yrds/A - Rank #23 2014 - 3.3 Yrds/A - Rank #6 Team Points Allowed per game: 2013 - 24.3 - Rank #20 2014 - 17.3 - Rank #8
  7. I pledge to go over to the "To all of the EJ bashers" thread and get some chuckles.
  8. i know this is crazy talk...but what happens if we lose to houston and EJ plays like he did vs san diego ?
  9. Thru 3 games, Total QBR is telling you two important things: #1- there are 31 other QB's playing better than EJ. #2- EJ is NOT any better this year as compared to last year. EJ's Total QBR 2013 - 42.3 - Rank 28th 2014 - 31.1 - Rank 32nd
  10. A quick primer on the fundamentals of Total Quarterback Rating: Scoring: 0-100, from low to high. An average QB would be at 50. Win Probability: All QB plays are scored based on how much they contribute to a win. By determining expected point totals for almost any situation, Total QBR is able to apply points to a quarterback based on every type of play he would be involved in. Dividing Credit: Total QBR factors in such things as overthrows, underthrows, yards after the catch and more to accurately determine how much a QB contributes to each play. Clutch Index: How critical a certain play is based on when it happens in a game is factored into the score. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6833215/explaining-statistics-total-quarterback-rating
  11. if Marrone goes, Schwartz goes, whaley goes, and russ gets to stick around a year while kim shadows him, then he goes.
  12. Total QBR Rankings: #20 - Ryan Fitpatrick....(washed up) #31 - Geno Smith......(sucks) #32 - EJ Manuel......( not his fault, give him a couple more years )
  13. EJ's Total QBR 2013 - 42.3 - Rank 28th 2014 - 31.1 - Rank 32nd http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr
  14. Houston favored by 3
  15. making the playoffs this year is far more important than the development of one player. EJ is clearly NOT ready. at best he is mediocre and at worst an inaccurate mental midget. how is it fair to the rest of the players and fans to throw multiple seasons away going "All-In" on a mediocre unproven QB ? the team is better served letting EJ "develop" on the bench. I have no idea if Orton is the answer, but i'm quite sure EJ is not. THE BILLS BRAIN TRUST HAS FAILED AT THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION ON THE TEAM. I bet before the draft, the Redskins would have taken the Bills next years 1st round pick for Cousins.
  16. Guide to the Total Quarterback Rating Explaining the methodology and statistics behind ESPN's new QB metric http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6833215/explaining-statistics-total-quarterback-rating
  17. Top reasons we lost yesterday in order of importance: #1- the OL could not pick up stunts. (mental) #2- penalties. (mental) #3- EJ wasn't able to make SD pay for overloading the box. (mental and physical) #4- the 4 DL are playing the run at the expense of getting zero pressure on Rivers by themselves. (coaching mental)
  18. guess it's time to check this guy out. he will be available soon.
  19. the hoodie has no patience for players who beat themselves with mental mistakes.
  20. bingo. they took away the run and EJ showed he's not good enough.
  21. simple question, which is more important ? "both" is not an answer. it must be one or the other. #1 - winning this season. #2 - getting EJ experience for future seasons.
  22. we are stuck with EJ at least thru to the bye week. EJ will NEVER be a Franchise QB (Top 10). EJ played like a mental midget yesterday.
