  1. I'm pretty new to this TBD chat room, so forgive me if I'm suggesting something already written about - I noticed some of the members seem to get pretty mad if people aren't familiar with all the topics being discussed. Anyway, I don't have a lot of Bills fans for friends so this is the only place I can go to exchange Bills ideas.

Here it is: I think the draft this year is really deep at areas where te Bills are particularly weak at; namely DL, OL, and TE.

Why not get as many picks as possible in the first two rounds - depending on how the players are falling, and secure a couple top tier defensive linemen and offensive linemen. Maybe two each. Then, a tight end - there's three that are sure to be upgrades for us in the mold of a fast, sure handed receiver. So, along this train of thought, the Bills stock up on both lines and can still get their TE.

As an aside, if I were a GM, I'd have a few really competent scouts looking for those great athletes that are unknowns, and pick up a bunch of those as undrafted FA's.

Basically, get into the first three rounds and go after the studs on the lines that might help us now, with a TE when the position favors it.

Ya, I wouldn't worry too much what other people say. In regards to trading back into the early rounds, that is always a possibility. However, I do see this draft as deep in talent but not rich at the top. If that makes any sense.

  2. You claimed in several posts that Cutler turns the ball over more than Edwards...however, I showed you in that thread and others that Edwards turns the ball over 48% more than Cutler...because you want to manipulate stats to inflate Edwards and discredit Cutler, you like to ignore the constant fumbling by edwards (9 in 12 games last year with 5 lost).

But that was the other thread...So lets focus on just Cutlder because you ignore every fact about Cutler...you talk about me bringing up Edwards, but is only ever in response to claims you make about Cutler that you in turn ignore with Edwards. Fdor about the 30th time, you have chosen to ignore EVERY fact about Cutler and discredit it by saying I keep talking about Edwards rather than actually responding to the Cutler stuff.

So, keep hiding behind your "obessed with Edwards" statement, because thats all you know how to type and you are clearly dodging all the facts on Cutler...several people have called you on this in various threads...yet thats still the road you take...let me know when you have something to say about these CUTLER only facts...

Your Stance = Cutler chokes, doesnt get it done when it counts, etc, etc...

    1. 2nd highest rated 4th quarter QB in the league over last 2 years

    2. Eight 4th quarter comebacks in 2-1/2 seasons

    3. One of highest rated passers when game is tied or with in 16 points

    4. Had a 4td, 4int nearly 900 passing yards in what you call an "epic failure" of 3 games...one of which he passed for over 350 yards and ran for 2 TD's against our very own Bills.

    5. Led his team to 3 4th quarter comebacks in a 5 game stretch last year alone.

    6. His record is 12-1 when the Broncos D gives up 22 points or less...further showing Denvers struggles have WAY more to do with the D than Cutler...

    7. His turnovers go up and rating goes way down when they are playing from behind of MORE than 16 points...showing more that he is trying to do to much and take risk to try and get his team back in the game. His rating is top notch when the game is winnable and close...again TOTALLY dispelling your constant claims he cant get it done when it matters.

    8. He is currently on pace to finish with only 8 less 4th Qtr comebacks than the Legend Elway had, who is known as Mr. Comeback...

    9. He has never had more turnovers than TD's in a season.

    10. He threw for 4500+ yards and 25 TD's despite losing all his RB's through the season, not having his #1 WR for 2 games, having a midget ROOKIE WR as his #1 for 2 games and his #2 the rest of the season and missing his TE for games due to injury...

    11. You claim the last 3 games of the season were must wins, which is easy to say NOW as it turned out that way, but at the time they were played, ONLY the last game was a MUST win like a playoff game.

    12. He is still young and only a 2nd year starter last year, yet more often than not he was great to dominant...you want to condem him on your overly exaggerated performance of his last 3 games.

    13. You BLATANTLY ignore his 2 rushing TD's against the Bills to try and make his perormance look worse during the 3 game stretch...yet, the NFL counts those TD's so why dont you? He led those drives and finished them off...

    14. Shannahan was an offensive legend with his running backs, not QB's. In fact, Cutler is the first QB that has ever developed under him, the rest were failures. Elway was Elway before Shannahan got there and Elway got his ring becuase of a running game powered by Terell Davis...so to say Cutler succeeded because of an offensive genius in Shannahan is unjust.

There you go...just some of the FACTS given to you by me or other posters that you have constantly ignored in every Cutler conversation you've been involved in...

    so you were wrong

  3. Again, I don't think you trade Roscoe just to free up money, or for a draft pick alone (unless it is higher than I expect they can get). I'd want a player that can instantly improve the team, to be part of the deal.

I hear ya, but freeing up money allows the possibility to pick up other acquisitions, would you agree? So it's just not freeing up money to save ol Ralphy money, but freeing up money to better the team.

As far as not trading him for draft picks, well, I mean how do we ever know which draft pick will be able to instantly improve the team? If you were referring to draft picks, that would be an awfully lofty goal for a rookie to do.

I am hoping for a deal with K.C to get a Brian Waters. A deal like this to me makes lots of sense for both sides. K.C gets a hell of PR and a new weapon that maybe K.C would be able to use as a WR possibly better than us and an extra draft choice to give Pioli to build his new with. And of course we get a high quality Guard. Obviously we would have to add more to the pot, maybe a 5th rounder, but an acquisition like Brian Waters helps this football team more in my view than what Parrish could bring to the team.

If I had to rate Parrishes trade value, I would say somewhere in between a late third to a mid 5th. I don't think I would accept a fifth rounder for him, but maybe a mid to early fourth rounder or better.

But similar to you, I am not in the camp of trading him for the sake of trading him, but trading Parrish to free up money for another acquisiton or a worthwhile draft choice.

  4. I think Tennessee Titans or Indianapolis Colts.

A HYPOTHETICAL trade would be to the Colts for their RD3#92 pick, almost exactly the point where we think Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE will be drafted.

Third sounds awfully optimistic in my view. If that would be the case, I'd take it in a heartbeat. However, if that were to play out, I do believe that the Colts would be able to make a lot better use of Parrish as a WR than we have. Specially now that Marvin is most likely going to be gone, and Gonzalez most likely moving to the 2 WR spot, that would create an opening at the slot.

  5. If you read Tim's clarification, you'd know he wasn't really chugging the koolaid:

I would guess it depends on your definition of "shopping". I'd be more surprised if Parrish's name wasn't mentioned in some of the the trade talks, the Bills have had, than if he was.

I would hope the Bills are actively trying to dump him, but are open to a fortuitous deal. Again, I prefer Parrish stay, but if there is a great deal, that really helps fill some of the other holes on this team, I think they'd really have to consider it.

It just makes sense to see what it is out there. He is expendable.

Obviously let's not trade him for the sake of trading him, but if it helps up $ for another acquisiton, or signing, or even if we can get a good draft choice or player, then it would be the logical move to make.

  6. If Philadelphia stays where it is, they get none of the Top 5 Left Tackles. I don't expect them to give away both first rounders without an additional player in trade, likely a running back, tackle, safety, or tight end. We are not the likely trade partner for these.

In other news, the Orangemen will have early trouble today with the matchup zone of ASU, but come back to win.

Good point about Philly Astrobot. Even though if I were in their position I probably wouldn't do it.

I wanted to get your thoughts on Jarron Gilbert.

I like him, he has lots of speed, strength, size and production. Some say he projects as a 3-4 end, others say he can play the role of a 4-3 end or tackle. At 6 foot 5 285lbs, 4.76 40, explosive 37 inch vertical (which shows burst), 22 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks, he seems to me to be equipped to play either role.

  7. A lot of thought was put into your mock, with some good evaluations. I would love to see Everett Brown with the Bills, but I'm not as optimistic as you are on that pick. The Raji pick to Cincinatti seems right to me.

Regarding Maclin, I think you are right that he is going to slide down the draft boards. Crabtree and Nicks are definitely the cream of the crop in my view. Percy Harvin I believe will be chosen by someone in the first round.

As far as Detroit going with Stafford, I think they are hating having to choose #1 at this point. I believe that some analysts like Mayock are putting tremdous doubt and pressure on them. I see them going with a safer choice in either Curry or one of the Tackles.

  8. Dude, you are delusional...in the other thread I responded to YOUR post about YOUR comparison on how Edwards had a lower turnover ration...why you were commenting is irrelevent...i entered the conversation because of the INACCURACY of your statements...

Just notice, that once again, you AVOID all facts that have completly destroyed all of these irrational claims on Cutler...case closed...until you can provide even ONE intelligent response to them I am done talking about this with you...in fact, I am thoroughly convinced you have never even seen Cutler play outside of the one Bills game...

    http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=85392

this time alpha, Read thoroughly, post by post , looks as if you're the delusional one. Show me where I inaccurately made a statement regarding turnover ratio before you came into the discussion with one of your long winded crusade's against Edwards.

    The obsession is creepy

Then come back and say you were wrong.

oh, and on a sidenote, I can assure you that I have watched lots of Cutler's game's, and I am not impressed At all. He's a loser, whiny, immature boneheaded qb.

    :censored:

  9. He sure looked good against Carolina in his final bowl game. For that matter, he's always been a gamer. I really don't know how he's going to work out. My gut tells me that he would be best served in a creative role, a role that plays to his strengths. I wouldn't be surprised if some team drafts him as their Wild Cat and backup QB.

As far as him being a quality starter one day, I really don't know. Either way, I don't see him starting for some time with anyone.

  10. Most posters on this board are closer to Al Davis in personnel evaluation when looking at draft prospects. It's remarkable that a 256 pound man can run the 40 in 4.47, but it doesn't make for a solid football player. Barwin is a project type player with outstanding measurables, and I'm not sure he's the pass rusher who can come in on 3rd down this season and apply pressure. He's played one season at DE, and while excellent at UC, he doesn't have a lot of experience using his hands, dipping around OT's, and demonstrating a variety of pass rushing moves.

I think Buffalo's looking for the most NFL ready pass rusher, not necessarily the guy with the most upside. They know the defense needs a lot more pass rush this season, not 2-3 years from now.

I think you hit the nail right on the head.

Tremendous upside, has shown lots of promise. But he seems more like a project player than anything. I just can't imagine a player with one year of experience at DE, coming into the pro's, ready to be an impact player.

Antonio Gates is an amazing story, but not too many of those players exist.

  11. You are a riot man...thats your response EVERY time your Cutler theory is blown up by actual factual evidence...you should get a new line...you NEVER have anything to say about the facts that completely dissolve your Cutler crusade...and the only reason Edwards keeps getting mentioned is because you keep hating on Cutler for things Edwards has done worse then turn around and play down Edwards mistakes and make excuses for him...and you do this to everybody...your posts keep getting worse and worse on this subject and Im not the only one calling ya on it...

I would suggest a new topic for you...

keep hijacking threads with your Edwards crusade. Everyone see's it. The only one's who agree with you are the one's who like to bash Edwards, which are the same people over and over.

I mean come on, look at the one who just supported you, Bizell, look at his signature, look at the history of his posts, he has a more bizarre obsession to bash Edwards than you do, and that is saying something.

This now makes two straight threads that you hijacked with your Edwards crusade. The last one, I never mentioned anything about Edwards, the only time I brought in Edwards was to correct FlBillsfan incorrect nonfactual statement that he had about int %.

Then as usual, you had to bring Edwards into the conversation, when it clearly was about Cutler.

Now again, you do it. No one mentioned anything about Edwards, but you had to do it again.

    Your obsessed dude. Face it.

I'm sure you'll hijack another thread with your obsession to bash Edwards.

We'll discuss this again, and I will see you in the next thread, cuz I know you can't help yourself.

  12. I have followed this guy for awhile now. He is athletic, strong, and fast. However, he is ONLY going to be a 3-4 DE at the next level, and thats that. He isn't thick enough to play 4-3 DT, and he is too big for a 4-3 DE, and he wont be a OT. He is know as the guy that jumped out of the pool:

You may be right, but I don't think I'd go so far to say "and thats that".

03/20/09 - San Jose State Pro day: It was Pro Day at San Jose State, and this was a far bigger deal than you may think. Thirty-five NFL observers were in attendance, including two headliners: new Ravens head coach Rex Ryan and Panthers head coach John Fox, according to comrade Nancy Gay, who made the trip this morning. As for players, Spartans defensive end Jarron Gilbert and Cal Poly wide receiver Ramses Barden were the main attractions. With two head coaches in the house, there goes any hope the Raiders were going to steal those two prospects unnoticed in the draft. If they want either of them, they'll have to draft them sooner than later. Gilbert would certainly add speed and versatility to the Raiders' 4-3 defense without having to spend the No. 7 overall pick on the issue. The son of former Saints offensive tackle Daren Gilbert, he has incredible athleticism and speed for a 6-foot-5, 288-pound defensive lineman (Gilbert posted a 4.87-second time in the 40 at the Combine, tied for ninth among d-linemen). Gilbert is a projected second- or third-round pick who can play at end or tackle in the 4-3 defense, but also projects as a 3-4 defensive end --thus Ryan's presence in San Jose. - San Francisco Chronicle
