that has to rank as one of the most smug, typically elitist, liberal posts i have ever seen. at least you do not "stereotype", wow! ps.. "you have to get to work" let me guess: are you a community organizer?, no.. a teacher?, ACORN fundraiser? -

if you say so!, FYI, the term is tea party!, TEA PARTY!.not teabagger, but as someone who just referenced balls and "shaft style", i could see why you like, and use , the term "teabagger" -

you win!, the country has never been so "on board" with this prez.. everyone loved the health care plan!,loved the "transparency" of the process!, you know , the mantra B O ran on.. TRANSPARENCY.. no backroom deals , no siree!.. no division in the usa!.. just look at his "approval" rating, btw, you brought politics into this, not me -

i agree, just felt he went out of his way to single out buffalo to make his point. you mean he couldnt have used the cardinals, falcons, jacksonville to drive home his point. again, you are right, who cares, but it irked me this morning, thats all. -
from chris mortensen tweet...why is nfl better when raiders are good? why not bucaneers or bengals or bills?? >> Tradition, national fan base 11 hours ago.. so the bills have no tradition?, national fan base? i think the buffalo bills are a storied franchise, last decade not withstanding, why did he compare the bills with the bengals and bucs!i think he could have used another team to lump in with the bengals way before the bills. ok, maybe i am thin-skinned and have too much time on my hands, but just pissed me off. it is harder and harder to legitimize the bills because espn jumps at every chance they get to minimize them

as fans, we are caught in an obvious "catch 22" situation. stay away, because we are pissed at how they do business, will not help us. the owner and league both know they have the fans by the crosshairs. chicago, philly, all the usual suspects , could get away with it, buffalo cant. i think it sucks , big time. we just have to essentially continue to get our asses paddled and just say "sir may i have another" .

the only hope is that russ and co started the procedure to change under the radar. otherwise , we are stuck with them. you just wonder how the "powers that be" over there are not aware of how laughable those uni's look!
-
i would heartily second that!, finally , a team from buffalo wearing classic uni's as their main one's.

i know it is easier said than done, but one day at a time.. thank god you do have your daughter. may i join others and, say, thanks for your service to the country. you guys are the real heros. your story certainly puts in perspective what truly is important in life. i predict you will come out of this stronger than ever, and life will be grand.. my prayers are with you..

wow!, i am red-faced.. i wanted porter on the bills, bad!.. jeez.. guess the bills were right .. -
i am cautiously optimistic about the D. i maintain the secondary is above average and would love mcclain to compliment the linebackers. i can only approach the season optimistically or otherwise, why bother?

smerlas to run for office?
dwight in philly replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
to be honest, this is the first i have heard of that. i can see bashing the team, for crissakes, it is done on here non-stop!. as for the city or fans, news to me. if he does run, i am sure his bashing of the area will have be addressed. there is no comparing mcGahee to smerlas! fred smerlas was a warrior as a player!, mcGahee, come on! -

i have no access to new england radio, so i would not know anything about his 'ALLEGED BUFFALO BASHING", last time i heard him on the radio was a few years ago when he was featured on the pre-game show on 97 rock. just do not understand the "lack of love" for a former bill, who was a blue collar guy thru and thru.. -

a classic case of missing the point. i made a case for nbc being otta touch, never mentioned, or inferred anything about B O. -

per the hamburg sun...MEYER'S MUSINGS: Congressman Fred Smerlas? It just may happen this fall By: DANIEL MEYER SUN EDITOR There’s been some chatter in recent weeks at the counters of a few coffee shops and in the produce section of some grocery stores in Massachusetts that should soon reach the taverns and barbershops of Western New York that may intrigue voters in this region. With many taxpayers expressing frustration over the way their representatives in Congress handled the recent health care reform legislation, the effort by local Republicans to produce quality candidates to challenge Brian Higgins and Louise Slaughter this fall is expected to heat up in the coming weeks. One name being batted around as a possible opponent to either Higgins or Slaughter is Fred Smerlas, a former nose tackle who was a popular player during his time spent as a defender for the Buffalo Bills. A native of Waltham, Mass., the five-time Pro Bowl selection played 14 seasons in the NFL. Smerlas has always had an interest in politics, including a brief flirtation three years ago with a possible run for a congressional seat in Massachusetts, something he supposedly thought long and hard about before bowing out of the race. My sources say Smerlas is very serious about moving his family back to Western New York and has even had some preliminary discussions with a local real estate agent and several conversations with some of his former teammates who live in the Buffalo area about possible purchasing property here.
