  1. Im not saying that JH should be bogged down in the minutiae of being a GM. BB and Carroll for example call the shots. Carroll was the vice president of football operations and though Schneider has an active voice in personnel decisions, its Carroll that makes the final call. Not the other way around. With BB its Nick Caserio who serves as his right hand man and is the director of player personnel. BB has the last word. Give JH the same authority as a Pete Carroll by making him "ABC of Football Operations" title while having someone else assist him. The buck should stop with JH though. And not the other way around. Yeh thats a sore spot.
  2. I dont have anything to back me up when it comes to Harbaugh's GM abilities in the NFL. However, being that Harbaugh is a control freak I'd assume the only chance anyone has to pull Jim away from Michigan would be to give him the $$$ AND power. If he doesnt have full autonomy i can see him bouncing after 2-3 yrs once him and the GM butt heads. And they will butt heads. If Harbaugh and a GM can coexist than sure that would be ideal. But someone like Harbaugh needs to run the show. Chip cant shake $h*t when it comes to coaching ability relative to Harbaugh. Harbaugh dominated as a coach in the NFL already. Chip hasnt.
  3. Exactly. Harbaugh's coaching abilities are above reproach. In my opinion, there are maybe a handful of coaches in this entire country (college and NFL) that you can clearly say are a better option than Harbaugh.
  4. His coaching record at Stanford, SF, and now Michigan is undeniable. Instant credibility. Im personally tired of going and hiring either unproven entities or entities proven at either sucking or being avg. Just my opinion. Complete autonomy.
  5. Harbaugh is coming back to the NFL everntually. He tasted success in the NFL (unlike other great college coaches who couldnt make it in the NFL) and hes not going to stay in Michigan forever. I think he makes $9m now. Give him FULL AUTONOMY. Blank check Pegula. BLANK CHECK. (Figure out what kind of wine he likes first)
  6. Uh oh!!! https://www.google.com/amp/www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jim-harbaugh-leaving-michigan-for-the-rams-is-reportedly-a-very-real-possibility/amp/?client=safari
  7. 10yrs / $100million Outside of the hoodie and maybe carroll, there is no better HC and football mind around. Burn the house down. Napalm it. Let Harbaugh rebuild it from scratch. Get 'er done!!!
  8. The Buffalo News reports Bills owner Terry Pegula is opposed to the idea of firing Rex Ryan in-season. The report suggests Ryan will keep his job for the final three weeks, but his status following the season is considerably murkier. Ryan could certainly point to injuries, especially on offense, as a reason for his team arguably underperforming, but the Bills have once again been a mistake-filled and inconsistent squad this year. He will likely be shown the door on Black Monday.
  9. Agreed. The only way i see Rex staying is if he agrees to let go of his grip on the defensive gameplan and lets Whaley bring in a d-coordinator that probably has nothing in common with Rex's defensive philosophy. But I dont see that happening. In my opinion, the decision of whether or not to keep Rex has nothing to do with Tyrod and the offense. Before we even approach the Tyrod issue, the franchise needs to figure out what its going to do with its HC. Everything after that will probably fall in line. Imo.
  10. Great thread. I think it comes down to the following: is rex staying? If we're going to fire rex and heaven forbid TT gets injured these last 3 weeks that means the new coach is going to be forced to deal with TT. If im a prospective new coach i dont want limitations on my roster choices, especially at QB. Its just too much of a gamble to start TT if the organization intends to move on from Rex.
  11. The entire team has disappeared. When a team goes downhill across the board: offense, defense, AND special teams, its on coaches 100%. Every coach needs to be fired. No one on this staff needs to be here anymore.
  12. I cant believe ive watched this team for +30yrs and i was fooled yet again. Ive kepts saying the arrow was pointing up for this franchise overall. I dont know what to think. Ill say this: if we are to fire Rex, everyone needs to go. Whaley, Russ, and Rex. Im tired of half-assing it with the head coaches. We need to hold those people who hire the HC accountable. Any person with any involvement in actual football operations needs to go. Napalm it.
  13. Agreed. As to why we're 6-6, plenty of blame can go around. Lets see how the season finishes and where we stand as a team, and then look at the defense/offense. Right now, if a third party came and analyzed our team they would easily see the following: 25% of our team salary is dedicated to 4 players on defense: Dareus, Hughes, Gilmore, and Kyle Williams. 25%. Our team is led by a defensive coach, and the highest paid players on this team are on defense. Yet, the defense is vastly underperforming. They rank in the bottom half in red zone defense and in the bottom half in points per game against. Meanwhile, the offense is underpaid, and over performing. The offense is top 10 in points scored and top 10 in the red zone. We'll see how things play out the final 4 games.
  14. Someone should post a scouting report of our defense and see what it says. And then add up the $$$ thats tied into the defense and formulate a value based on production for that unit. TGIF!
  15. Maybe theres more to Carr sucking in cold weather than I originally thought...
  16. You cant let the past (at least not 15yrs ago) affect your analysis of the present. If we go .500 or above itll be another season of not being in the playoffs but certainly being competitive. You start stringing some of those seasons around for a few years and the loser mentality starts to go away. You know you have a chance. You start to believe it. Now if under the same regime we go backwards to 6-10 or 5-11 then id say panic should start creeping in. Jauron's teams could never get over the 7-9 hump. Thats the closes we've come to stability in Buffalo in over a decade..until Whaley took over. Whaley has brought more respectability to the Bills than we've had in a long time. A lot of non-bills fans dont laugh at the current Bills like they did in the past. We've started earning some respect under Whaley. Our next hump we need to get over on a consistent basis will be the 9-7 mark. I believe Whaley will get us there.
  17. All 21 pts for KC came in 8min of the game. So much for winded defenses.
  18. When Michaels says free agent it sounds like "free asian". Anyone else notice that??
  19. Correct. We rank #5 in turnover differential. Not because of the defense, but bc of the offense. Offense is tied for 1st in NFL in fewest turnovers. Defense ranks 18th in takeaways. More facts. The chiefs are going to win this game scoring 14pts on offense. #defense Chiefs are 13-1 when scoring 25 or more total points since 2015. Today they dont even get to 25. Bills are 8-7 during same span. #differences.
  20. #1 red zone defense last 3 weeks (#6 overall) #1 turnovers for season. Not even close either. Hashtag that.
  21. Yup. But They rank #1 in red zone defense last 3 weeks. And are near top for season. We are second to last for 3 weeks and bottom half for season. And turnovers are huge. Bit of luck too.
  22. HAHA. Well played. Where do we rank the last 6 weeks. Hence the "i dont remember" part.
  23. "Carr just went over 100yds". HAHA. That pinky doesnt like the cold.
  24. Remember what pressure looks like? I dont.
