They opened the event with a 15 second detailed presentation and discussion of successful socialist regimes through history.

Yes he did. To paraphrase what he told Putin "After the election it will be easier to deal". But as a member of the protected political class, Obama is untouchable. And of course people employed and compensated to provide muscle to the protected political class will deny this and attack anyone that suggests this truth. These people are typically members of an Army of lower level political operatives and media flunkies that are experts at manipulating words and language while making decent 6 figure wages doing hatchet jobs on ordinary citizens or skeptics. There attacks just reinforce and proves the point.

Lori Lightfoot loses in political embarrassment
All_Pro_Bills replied to Precision's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Not to be rude but can go out to Halloween parties as Bettlejuice without the need for make up or costume. -
You're a good company man always consistently obedient to the system and the tales they tell. What exactly did I re-write? As for being called out, by who? You? To be straight about it I don't see much value in committing any more of my time to getting into a long back and forth with you because while I'm willing to adjust or change my views in debating and discussing topics you are definitely not. So what's the point?

Warning: Attempting to objectively understand the history and things like the ethnic and cultural composition of Crimea will get you labeled as a Putin sympathizer. You're supposed to believe everything you're told, not do too much thinking, and certainly not question any of it. Interestingly Crimea was a territory of Greece known as Tauris before becoming part of the Roman Empire about 60 BC. Dominion over the province was transferred from empire to empire until it fell under Russia about 180 years ago. Then in 1954 former Soviet Premier Kryschev transferred sovereignty to the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic. After the fall of the Soviet Union the province gained some degree of independence but then came under the control of the Ukrainian central government while still having some degree of autonomy. Then came the Maiden riots, the Russian invasion and here we are. A recent referendum of citizens voted overwhelming to become part of Russia again although we know with 100% confidence the election was rigged. We know this because the same people that told us all the elections they win in our country are fair told us so. Another tip: Don't question election results when the "good" guys win and the "bad" guys lose (but when the results go the other way please do question the results). Just remember the main theme here. Believe everything you're told and don't question anything. The establishment thanks you for your obedience.

I'd be more than happy to discuss COVID relief spending as a separate topic and I think I'd agree with much of your view on the programs but the topic is student loan forgiveness so we should try to stay inside the guardrails.

You must be that rare altruist and humanitarian.
-
By providing the views of your "conservative" friends, you're confirming what I contend is the dominant human behavioral characteristic. And that is people will almost always take an action or express a belief that aligns with their own self-interest. Rare is the truly altruistic individual. In this case, people with outstanding loan balances supporting loan forgiveness and people without loan balances or people that paid off their loans opposing loan forgiveness. But the issue isn't what's in each person's self-interest. The issue is that, unless they were defrauded or deceived or their legal rights under contract law were violated, all these folks taking out student loans voluntarily entered into a contact with another party. They should have been fully aware of the terms and conditions of the loan. And if they weren't that's their own fault. If they can't or won't pay it back that's a private matter between them and their creditor. There's no legal or moral reason why the public at large via funding the government should assume responsibility for the debts of a certain group of debtors that each entered a contract of their own free will.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
All_Pro_Bills replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
For me, none of these agency conclusions are very insightful absent details about what evidence, data, and information they gathered and assessed to arrive at a conclusion. Even with "confidence" level can we verify they all followed the same methodology or criteria in making that determination? Is it apples apples from one conclusion to another or apples to oranges? -
All your tugging at the heart strings and drama aside, the hard cold facts are its not worth spending $100+ billion of borrowed funds and committing to some undefined open-ended goal and objective "doing whatever it takes" while this administration ignores all kinds of problems and needs here at home. And strategically the country means nothing nor does it have any impact on the US homeland in terms of security. The objective to weaken Russia is not going to result in regime change or destroy the Russian economy. Washington's policies have drawn China and Russia, and other economic and military adversaries closer together then they could have accomplished on their own. On all fronts its a strategic blunder. America will exit another frivolous foreign adventure weaker. Count on it.

Classic comedy. Nothing you'll see from today's rehearsed and choreographed media presentations. It takes me back. January 20, 1991. AFC Championship game. Raiders at Bills. A game Bills fans had suffered through many years of futility to experience. But for some reason, NBC cuts to the Gulf War over and over. Missing a good portion of the first half. Even through anyone interested in whatever happened in Saudi Arabia could have tuned to 20 or 30 other channels to view. Some reporter on a roof top in Saudi Arabia talking about and occasionally ducking what's claimed to be Skud missiles. Just a lot of drama, and for me ruining the experience of what was the Bills most dominant playoff performance ever. Watching the game how I hoped that one of those missiles would blow up that reporter so they'd stop cutting from the game. But no such luck. 32 years later, still hate NBC. Funny and ironic. Soon after in 1992, started dating this women, it gets a little serious, and I meet her family. Her mom and dad were nice people. But her father through some twist of fate was a VP at NBC HQ in NYC.

Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
All_Pro_Bills replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
This might be a smart move by Frazier. Like it or not, true or false, there's a belief that deficiencies in play calling and scheme that have resulted in some big failures are on Leslie. So he takes a year off. Now we'll find out if its Leslie or Sean. If the Bills defense continues to make these scheme and play calling gaffes with a new coordinator then we can be pretty sure its on McDermott. And Frazier can go into next season looking for work and rightly claim its not on him. The danger is the Bills improve in those areas and it is him. -
What I want doesn't matter because I have no influence on the outcome or the actions of the parties involved here. I want to tell you my sister-in-law is of Ukrainian descent and my family has donated money, household items and clothing, and labor to assist in the packaging of aide for civilian relief efforts. So I take exception to any questioning of my motives or loyalty. And please don't suggest my desire for objectivity and skepticism is support of Russia. I just believe this is another in the long line of Washington's interventions and nation building operations that is going to fail like they always fail.

Past actions, present news? Like those inflated body count totals the Pentagon fed to the US networks for the evening news every night during the Vietnam War? Its very important to never believe your own propaganda. 1,000 kills per day? You can believe what you want to believe but I prefer to believe in no such over the top claims without a shred of proof. Ultimately, in the end what we believe won't matter.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
All_Pro_Bills replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Nobody has produced any smoking gun evidence of this coronavirus in animals occurring in nature, So the natural origin theory that some unknown animal transmitted the virus to humans is no more supported by evidence than the lab origin theory. What the lab leak theory has going for it is proximity of the lab and ground zero being just down the street. Along with mutations that many virologists have concluded are nearly impossible to occur naturally. No objective scientist or investigators would just dismiss that as coincidence. Add to the story the Chinese government inexplicably plowed under the market where it occurred in what can only be an effort to destroy evidence or prevent any forensic investigation and you get people wondering. -
A couple days ago I saw a report quoting a former US Marine fighting for Ukraine that stated the Ukrainian government is conscripting teenagers and the average life expectancy of a soldier arriving at the front is 4 hours. Knowing full well both sides spew propaganda during times of war how can anyone know what the truth is or what to believe about anything being reported about either side?
-
Are you working on a contract basis or some kind of consulting arrangement like for Accenture for example? Because I've done lots of travel for former and current employer(s) and I've never had to file out of state.

Mayor Pete still learning to fly
All_Pro_Bills replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A check of the movie Idiocracy from 2006 might reveal striking similarities between the scene of President Camacho's cabinet meeting and what it must be like to attend a similar event under almost real-life President Biden's administration. -
Perhaps after the White House gig is over the Bills can bring her on to more clearly explain the 13 seconds failure was Trump's fault too.

No except most of the intellectual liberal class think anyone that didn't vote for Biden or doesn't live in some coastal metropolitan area is a Nazi.

By the looks of things, weight and portion control for starters.
