I recall one stat back in those days that stated RJ was sacked once every 7 plays on AVG. For a better compairision look at 2000 where RJ was a clear starter and went 4-11 for games started. RJ again got injuried and Flutie, a year older with diminishing skills, went 4-1 with the #18th ranked D. Flutie's QB rating in 2000 was 86.5 pretty good for a backup qb.

Watched a sack by Von Millet the other night who outside rushed and dipped his shoulders lower than the linemans waist on cut to the QB.. Guy couldn't get a glove on him. I had to watch it 3 or 4 times to see how he got his pads so low.. Pretty impressive..

What I never saw coming ....... Was the flag for the obvious holding call on Mario in this pic. .. I'm sure there were plenty more in the NE game that never came.

Although I don't know if this is true, my thought is if you did this same analysis with QB's NFL wide you would see the same trend that Teams with QB's over 30 attempts a game tend to lose those games more than under 30 teams. This is partially due to playing from behind teams tend to throw more. I did look at the this same trend many years ago comparing Flutie and Kelly and the same held true.. Both QB's with under 30 attempts won the majority of their games.

Like the list.. Few Notes 1. Historically I think the question on VIck had always been his accuracy and quickness to leave the pocket. Have not watched him enough in the last two years to evaluate 2. Have watched Romo for years (TX) Chandler would benefit from Romo however he would need a complimentary receiver outside of SJ to really be effective (See TO, Dez for comparision) 3. Moving down I am a big fan of Daniels had have watched him since HS. He is a spread QB ran it in HS and at Mizzou and very smart kid. He will be hungry for a start being behind Brees this past couple years. I think he would thrive in Chans offense. 4. JMarcus Webb ?? The tackle? Excuse my ignorance here but I couldn't find him on any NFL Roster.. Joe Webb former Viking yes.. but JMarcus has got me stumpped. Colt -- Weak Arm.. Good Leader.

I remember a perfectly thrown ball to Andre Reed then Reed bumping a ref moving the ball off the 1 yard line changnig a sure touchdown to a force a field goal to draw us within 4. I remember an onside kick recovery then more fantastic completions setting us up at the 5 yard line with time running out. And yes I remember Doug Flutie holding on to the ball a second too long trying to make a play as he had all fourth quarter after Thurman missed a block on Trace Armstrong who then leveled Flutie and dislodged the ball while Ruben Brown looked at it laying on the ground. Is that how Flutie cost us the game? Damn he sucked..

This again?? FWIW Moulds performance at the beginning of the game determined Fluties performance at the end of the game. Buffalo passing: Doug Flutie 21-36 for 360 yards, 1 INT, 1 TD Buffalo rushing: Thurman Thomas 7-33, Doug Flutie 4-29 Not a bad day for Flutie.. costly turnovers (4 lost 4) including first play should have set us up for TD. Defense gave up 10 pts in 4th Qtr which cost the win. But you are right it was all Fluties fault for losing that game.

Agreed but, a lead blocker at the goal line may have made all the difference.. thats all I am saying.. not questioning the Spiller choice but I wonder why do we have 2 power fullbacks on this team if we are not going to use them in the run game?

Revisiting the Spiller fumble,,, where the heck was the Corey Mac trap play that was used last year at the 1 where he flattened Wolfork for the score???? Guess we don't learn from previous success.

I was never one to buy into this notion that this was the real problem.. However the Rangers finally were sold from Hicks to owners who want to win and quickly became back to back World Series teams. It's amazing to see the difference between an owner who runs a team for profit compared to one that has the desire to win ( and produces "winning" profits" )

RB's need touches.. I don't think he is afraid to engage, I remember his pre-season games last year hit the hole hard and made people miss, his problem is that he is behind a better player right now and he lacks confidence. Coming from college he was the main guy, now I see a player that questions himself everytime he touches the ball. He will get better, and if he leaves he will tear up our defense on the ground.

Lol... Ever see that NFL game experience commercial? I would love to see anyone on this board go across the middle on an NFL Defense. Our receivers aren't sissy's just young. We just don't have a very good offensive and defensive line. BTW Incognito looked pretty good against our Defense yesterday... sure could have used him on our o-line.

Agreed, not giving CJ a pass on this but had McIntyre actually hit someone instead of whiffing on his block, CJ would have walked into the endzone. Expecting mistakes comes with reps and I can't believe they didn't give him more reps at the end of the game in garbage time to try and see what he is made of. The first in goal was a bad play call.. Why do you have McIntyre.. shuffle to the right outside and try to sneak CJ up the middle? Heck have the guy motion in like he did against the Pats and blow away the nose tackle. If you watch that play there were 3 Dolphins ready to hit CJ on that play.. .. Bad Design .. Bad execution

Any of you DVR the game I encourage you to go back and look at the first drive. The main reason we had success is the dolphins over per-sued on many plays. The first slant to CJ was a good designed play for positive yards. On the inside handoff to Fred Dolphins defense was all in the backfield he had no chance. Our O-Line does not blow anyone off the line of scrimmage. The Shovel pass was very fortunate not to get stopped for a loss. Our oline was suspect at the beginning of the season and we had success as Fitz made quick reads/throws to open receivers who caught balls which are now being dropped. Receivers are now being jammed at the line which throws off the timing of the quick throws and our O-Line is now exposed again. It all starts up front .... One thing I am tired of seeing however is our receivers running 9 yard curls on 3rd and 10. Maybe a 11 yd curl would work better.

Hate to put it this way.. but.... Raise the ticket prices and you will get a different class of people at your Bills games. I really can't believe how cheap it is to be honest.. Look on ticket master and compare your prices to others in the league and you will see how cheap it really is. There may be other benefits as well to higher ticket prices.. like maybe a higher profit margin for Ralph may convince him to pay out a higher percentage to free agents. I'm not sure this will be the case but in my mind it is worth a try.

Looks to me that Trent isn't the only one who didn't recognize the blitz. Backside receiver (Lee Evans) is suppose to fill the gap left by the blitzing line backer, Lee is head down running up field.. Had he run the slant to the spot where the LB had vacated..he would have been wide open.. Not saying Trent would have seen him as his eyes are to the right.. but Trent isn't the only who didn't do his job on that play.

Whats the problem with Gash or Fullbacks for that matter? This guy was great and feared by many a defense. How many other Fullbacks do you know that go to the Pro Bowl without a single carry during the season? This guy was a game changer and set the attitude of the Bills of the late 90's .. Punters can't do that..but a quality fullback can. Can you imagine what this team would be like with a fullback like Gash blazing the trail for CJ..
