  1. In fairness to TO, it's not like the passes were right on target yesterday.

Com' on I was starting to think Fitzy was the franchise savior! I mean if you watch the highlight reel on TWOBILLSDRIVE.COM the 2 passes to Lee were outstanding...

Oh wait those were the only two good ones from the whole game? Whatever.

    This is the DJ Prescription:

    1. Insert the newest QB that shows some flashes of competence

    2. watch him have a decent run and win some games ultimately leading to a 7-9 year and a QB squabble

    3. insert him as the Bills perminant starting QB

    4. Ride him until he gets so beat up he crumbles due to lack of line, offensive creativity, coaching, etc.

    5. Nickname him capitain dump-off, check down, tackling dummy or statue...

    6. Sign a mediocre back up or draft a late round rookie

    7. repeat step 1

  2. If only it was as easy as writing down what we wanted:

I think that we should hire Cowher as the head coach with Mike Holmgren as the offensive coordinator, Mike Shanahan as the QB coach and Jon Gruden as the receivers coach. We could take Tony Dungy as the new defensive coordinator with Marty Shottenheimer as the linebackers coach. I think that they're all available.

Then we can trade for Peyton Manning...

Why would we need to trade? In this scenario i think we get the Manning brothers off of waivers. While we are at it Bring back HOUSE BALLARD. Now thats a tackle!

  3. Byrd is playing amazing.

Agreed. TD saving tackle and just as the draft scouting report said, not the biggest, not the fastest, but somehow he gets around the ball and makes plays. I think his old man was an good NFL DB...

Probably the nicest surprise of this season.

  4. Fewell's defense has gotten shredded over and over. The fact that they held Cleveland to 2 FG's is nothing to brag about. Fewell as HC makes no sense whatsoever. Either does April at this point. There's really not much to save regarding the coaching staff. AVP is OC only because Snert got himself fired, not because AVP earned it.

Ralph is almost certainly going to wait it out to the end of the season. He dislikes paying fired employees. He will still have to eat 2 years on Jauron's contract if he fires him at the end of the season. In fact, it wouldn't shock me terribly if Ralph brought Jauron back next year.

Hell, why not keep Jauron till the end of the season and let him finish nailing his own head-coaching coffin shut?

Come on! Are there any nails left? DJ's coffin has more metal than wood at this point. The season is already lost, might as well grab some coaching talent now, while there are not 5 other losers with more money and a better location competing for the same prospects. If DJ had any honor he would resign himself and forfeit the rest of his contract entitlement. He was never up for this.

RW should at least sing up in a real NFL GM NOW for the same reason. Let that guy decide on how and when to fix the DJ problem.

  5. The Colts. I'm a big fan of Bill Polian. And I really liked Tony Dungy. I felt he got a raw deal in Baltimore and Tampa Bay, and was happy to see him win a SB with Indy. Oh, and that Manning guy is pretty decent too I guess.

Also, they seem to be the only team capable of running an efficient no-huddle in games.

Me too. Polian built the Bills we loved to watch, got Carolina to SB in a couple years from an expansion and he has done the same in Indy and continues to every season. Colts are a winning org and enjoyable to watch.

  6. If our highest paid receiver doesn't think that Jauron is the problem then I'd be curious to know what he thinks the problem is. Is it Edwards, is it Van Pelt, is it the organization?

    C) organization. That means all of the above. We have seen bad qb's win in this league with good teams and orgs around them. We have rarly seen good QB's succeed with crappy teams/org's around them.

  7. Edwards has plenty of targets but not enough time. Most of that is his own fault for not being faster on quick throws, but it is not like AVP can't see what is going on.

I stand by my original thesis that a slightly above average NFL QB and all less than that would be marginalized by this team. I think Drew Brees would fail miserably. There are only a few that I speculate could actually throw well despite this mess.

I am frankly surprised this team beat Tampa. With the injuries on D and the ST choking the 7-9 team from last year was light years ahead of this group. They will be Drafting first or second unless RW cleans house ASAP and gives someone else a shot at running this show.

  8. Rush is the bizzaro world Michael Moore. They are equal and opposite versions of the same. Their Mantra, "look at me, look at me, pay attention to my great perspective and wisdom" While they hypocritically live a life in contrast to the ideals they preach. They distort everything they can find a way to spin to create controversy and support unrealistically polarized viewpoints to get rich. Its like WWE- lots of farce and facad packaged as truth.

As the Bills owner, He would likely just blame the Bills situaiton on a liberal conspiracy.

I hope the Bills could find a better prospective owner than that type.

  9. Living here in Atlanta I saw first hand how an organization can be completely turned around by hiring the "right man" running the football operations. The Falcons have been a laughing stock of the NFL until hiring Thomas Damitroff from the Pats to run the show. He is a "Football Man" and knows first hand how to evaluate talent and bring in the right type of athlete. He gutted the the Falcon roster of "me" guys, drafted Matt Ryan and host of other gutty players and brought in a no nonsese type coach wjho is both a players coach and an "in your grille" when it is needed.

My point is, it can be done in the NFL today....we have some talent...our only salvation is RW sees the light after this season, hires a true football GM, lets RB go back to marketing, keep Overholt, can the entire coaching staff, Modrak and Guy. We will never succeed without a true GM, regardless of who is coaching....

Have to agree with GM sentiment. Look at Polian and what he did for Buf and IND, and CAROLINA. Expansion to superbowl contender in a couple years. Miss that guy a lot....

  10. As much as I like Stroud as a player, he's not going to be an important player when the Bills finally become good (assuming they ever do). The Chargers, for instance, are really desperate for a DT, and they're not the only ones. The Cowboys come to mind too. I know a first rounder would be difficult to get, but desperate teams sometimes resort to desperate measures. If the Bills end up with two first rounders (one a high pick, the other in the mid-20s), they might be able to move up further and draft a QB or sit tight and and land both a blue chip DT and an OT. (They do need to draft a QB early, however.)

It's really just a thought experiment, but this team is going nowhere, and they're going to have to build through the draft.

It would take this FO 10-15 first round draft picks to stumble onto a player as good as stroud.

  11. Any sort of organized silence would probably speak the loudest. The silence would be deafening. Probably almost impossible to organize, but it would be classy and poignant. It would also allow an introspective moment for all the underperformers, from Ralph to DJ to TE right down to the water boy. I like the idea a lot.

A walk out would be equally poignant, but it’s easy for me to say as I did not shell out some hard earned $$ for a ticket, thus I would never advocate it.

  12. My prediction is that the Bills will rise up and blow the Brownies right back across the Lake. And that will suck, because every game the Bills win, keeping them on their inevitable 6-10-0 to 8-8-0 pace under Dick, will be another excuse for Wilson not to eat his contract and fire him.:unsure:

You should not get depressed if the Browns upset the Bills Sunday. Every loss will be one game closer to the end of the Jauron "error" , er "era."

I agree. My dream scenario is Bills are destroyed by cleveland, RW breaks out the axe and cleans house. A new group comes in and the Bills actually start showing improvment. The extreme dream scenario includes winning out and a wild card birth... Hope is really all we have :bag:

  13. Didn't Parcells indirectly answer that question this past Sunday ?

Good one. He is equally capable of making an opposing player his b*tch. All depends on which side he is on. He spanked Marv and Jimbo once too in a pretty big game as i remember...

But it's neither here nor there, no proven NFL legend will want to work for Ralph in any capacity or take on this disaster of a franchise.

I am not even sure about the decent availble coaches like Gruden or Shanahan. Let me ask this question: Since Marv, who is the best coach the bills even Interviewed?
