  1. As the Bills have done in years past and as a lot of teams do, they rock with 2 QBs
  2. Everyone seems to be so sure about certain players making the roster. Realize that only 53 can be kept on the active roster. Once you sit down and actually put the names to the positions and stay at the magic # of 53, I believe reality sets in and some decent players are going to be cut... QB: R. Fitzpatrick, V. Young RB: F. Jackson, CJ Spiller, J. White FB: D. Dickerson WR: S. Johnson, D. Hagan, D. Jones, D. Nelson, TJ Graham, N. Roosevelt TE: S. Chandler, L. Smith OT: C. Glenn, C. Hairston, S. Young, E. Pears, Z. Sanders OG: A. Levitre, K. Urbik, C. Rhinehart C: E. Wood, C. Brown DE: M. Williams, S. Merriman, M. Anderson, C. Kelsay, K. Moore DT: M. Dareus, K. Williams, S. Johnson, D. Edwards OLB: A. Moats, N. Barnett, B. Scott, N. Bradham MLB: K. Sheppard, S. McKillop, T. Carder DB: A. Williams, S. Gilmore, R. Brooks, J. Rogers, L. McKelvin S: J. Byrd, G. Wilson, D. Searcy, N. Saenz K: R. Lindell, J. Potter P: B. Mooreman LS: G. Sanborn Noteable Cuts: K. Morrison - Age/Making room for younger players T. McGee - Age/Injury - Any chance he could play S for the next few years? T. Troup - Injury - Maybe IR M. Easley - Down to him vs. Roosevelt - PRACTICE SQUAD (if Easley does not make roster) B. Smith - Lack of impact at QB, buried at WR T. Choice - Down to him vs. White C. McIntyre - Age (although one of my favorites) A. Carrington - Has not proven himself M. Jasper - Still work in progress - PRACTICE SQUAD C. White - Lack of "multi use" - PRACTICE SQUAD M. Asper - PRACTICE SQUAD D. Batten - Has not proven himself -Keeping Potter as a 2nd Kicker means 1 more cut. At this point I believe they are keeping Potter. -Kept 10 Offensive Linemen - Only due to injury history and the youth at the positions. -Obviously with any injuries things could change.
  3. I don't think there is "HATE" for Easley. I believe what is in question is "why Easley is defended by the fan base and what has he done?". He really has not shown or proven anything in 2 year other than he can find the IR (neither being his fault but that is football). Reports come out of him having a sub par camp and yet they are discredited (just as you have done). There seems to be a competition going on for that #2 WR postion and Easley's name is really not being mentioned for it. He is instead being mentioned running with the 3rd and 4th team...YET he gets the lion's share of the hype.
  4. As I have been contended on a few of my points from the off season I was going to re-throw a few of the points back out there... 1. Kirk Morrison will be the 1st "surprise" cut if Moats beats him out for the starting OLB job. I had originally stated this some time back and found out Morrison's supporters were still living in 2008. He was invisible for Buffalo last year, he is aging and there is a bunch of youth around him at the position. 2. Marcus Easley - Will only keep 5-6 WR's (6 on a good day)...As stated many times before, Easley has never shown anything for Buffalo (or in college for that matter) other than he can find his way to the IR list. A very tough position to break into in the NFL and having a good "profile" on paper does not prove anything when it comes to the field. At this point I believe he is battling Roosevelt for that final position (if they keep 6). SJ, DJ, DN, TJG, DH (Hagan)...Currently I think Roosevelt has him edged out. 3. Brad Smith - Not sure what purpose he will serve. Not that they have great WR's, but all of the above are better than Smith. He may be listed as the 3rd QB but I dont think this experiment is going to continue into the 2012-13 season. The Bills have return men, have WR's and would sign a 3rd QB over Smith if the first 2 QB's were to get injured. If they get serious and try to lock up Byrd and Levitre before the season, Brad Smith is no more in Buffalo. 4. Torell Troup - If not for the fact they missed so badly in picking him in the 2nd round he would have already been cut. Blame it on injury if you would like, but Troup is not making the team and they can now use "injury" to bail themselves out. 5. Terence McGee - Love him, but injury and youth have made him expendable. 6. Tashard Choice - Tough for Gailey to get rid of a GT guy, but Johnny White looked a little better in the 1st preseason game. Anyway, just some thoughts. Feel free to tee off...just remember (as I think many of you have a tough time realizing) they DO have to cut players and are not able to keep a roster size of 80
  5. Funny you say that. I have heard people on this board say..."he has been running mental routes" while on the IR the past 2 years. That he was up to speed with the offense since he has been able to "sit back and study it". Goes to show the lack of football knowledge and the fact that so many fans cannot be honest about players on the Bills. Its "ok" to admit concern, criticize, or question a player on the Bills. They have not made the playoffs in 12 years for crying out loud. Demand a little more.
  6. Not sure why Easley was/is hyped so much. I have been saying this for the past 6 months and have continually taken heat for it. He was a 4th round pick out of UCONN with minimal experience even at the college level. He has been on the IR for 2 years and has shown very little in terms of "on field ability". He is EASILY (no pun intended) one of the most over hyped Buffalo Bills of all time as people seem to view him as the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice and the answer to the issue of the #2 WR. If you are looking for the feel good story on the Bills, root for HAGAN. He, at one point, was considered a 1st round draft pick, set all kinds of records at Arizona State and at least has a decent amount of NFL experience. Yes he has been on 4 teams in 7 years, but he has also had 6 OC's during that span as well. I am not saying HAGAN is the answer, but he has a history to base "potential" off of.
  7. I often wonder the same thing with Gailey and his band of former GT players. If we are talking Calvin Johnson fine, but we seem to sift through and try to turn his scrubs from college into NFL Pro Bowlers
  8. How did they botch up the NFL uniforms? The NFL has to be the most important uniform/jersey in their stable one would think. With those "collars" they added to both the Bills and Skins jerseys they kind of make you focus on one area vs. viewing the uniform as a whole. Uniforms are meant to flow, not have that one specific area....kind of annoying IMO. Surprised they did it and surprised it made it through the 79 "sign offs" I am sure they had to put them in place.
  9. Yes on the Direct TV with Jet Blue and Yes that they have the NFL package. Yes also on getting Direct TV on your phone. You need to make sure you have an online account set up with Direct TV. You may need to call Direct TV and either pay for, or bargain for, the internet version of the Sunday Ticket (not expensive, but a lot of times they will throw it in for free). You can then watch the games from your computer or phone.
  10. Look, hoping that either VY or TT step up and can become a solid #2....but if continue to look lost I would not mind keeping an eye on the Miami situation with the hopes of Moore becoming available. I liked him down here in Carolina and think he would fit in nicely with what the Bills are trying to do.
  11. "....So the rest of you 31 franchises can go f*ck yourselves as the Bills will be stampeding all the way through the Superbowl....now someone hand me a mother f*ckin' beer"
  12. Just thought of this one, how about - "The Bruce Smith Experience 2: Electric Boogaloo." Bro, nicknames are given based off of performance on the field. They are usually somewhat formed off of the players that are contributing and what the contributions are. Now we can all speculate on what they will or should be but they have not proven anything yet. After 12 long years one should not be concerned with a "nickname" as much as just making the playoffs and playing respectable football for a 16 game season. Lastly a nickname should be given, maybe by a major media member...that way it seems more original and may take. Pretty sure Boomer (Chris Berman) will help us out IF needed.
  13. Actually not really and not the point of the post if you look back. More along the lines that he has done nothing on the field for the Bills in 2 years and is again missing practices. They said MOORE is looking good so far and remember that Merriman is learning a new position.....dont be surprised if SNIP SNIP if missed practices continue to pile up....
  14. Merriman misses his first practice.....Today No blasting the topic yet, actually hope it is minor as I love the way the D has shaped up but this is TERRIBLE news for Merriman and the Bills with his history. Lets hope not!!!
  15. Not at 12 million a year and not one that can only run straight ahead. We had one of those guys in Lee Evans....how did that work out? And before you say that Evans is no Wallace please remember whom Evans had throwing to him vs. Wallace.
  16. Sure hope so since Fitz does not throw a tight one...
  17. Hey Mario......Tom Brady stole your mattress and said he is not giving it back unless you "make him". PS....Sanchez stole your TV
  18. Howell is a SS I believe. Seems as if they will be looking for a FS. Not 100% on that but every player Chris Brown mentioned was a FS.
  19. After reading this part of your link...NO THANKS Last season, Peprah finished with five interceptions and 14 pass break-ups, but he was never able to fill the void left by the injured Nick Collins. Though usually assignment-sure in Dom Capers' scheme, Peprah was often a step slow in coverage and lacked elite athleticism. His turbulent season culminated in Green Bay's playoff loss to the New York Giants. Peprah's missed tackle led to a 66-yard touchdown by Hakeem Nicks, and he was also one culprit on the Giants' Hail Mary touchdown right before halftime.
  20. I like the thought of Chris Harris. His #'s look great. He hits and has forced fumbles, intercepted passes and been a starter in the past. Not sure why he did not get signed by a team though....something must be up...He looks way to good to still be unsigned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Harris_(American_football)
  21. Ahh, thank you for that...battling a case of Diverticulitis (flare up) right now. All liquid diet for 3 more days unfortunately. Little out of it.
  22. just about to start watching the interview, but DAMN he looks like he is in shoulder pads when he is wearing a Plain White T http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Camp-Tour-with-Nigel-Bradham/cbc5d56b-8a46-4a8b-9a43-f352c99915b4
  23. He really was never all that good. Sure he had a big personality but his numbers over his career are average at best. The first year or first 2 years fine, but with him broken down and not ever living up to his potential....PASS
  24. Only if "concussion" is another word for mounds and mounds of a powdery white substance that is consumed through your nose.....hopefully he knows the difference if he is telling them he had 5 or 6 "concussions" in a season...
  25. In today's NFL you are expecting your 1st round pick to start and make some sort of "impact". I think the problem with Floyd is the "lack of desire" label that is starting to be formed. First he misses some practices and Fitzgerald has to get on him and now there is some rumblings about his weight. Trust me, the NFL has seen it before. Year in and year out they increase their sample pool and although those little mentions may seem minor there is truth and history behind them.
