  1. Ryan Brees Ben Rivers Prescott I'll insert Brady when he gets a few games under his belt against teams that aren't Cleveland.
  2. How on earth does he not get suspended for this immediately? I mean, I know he'd appeal and be available this Sunday regardless, but that's not the point. A repeat offender who has twice been suspended for stomping and had another suspension for kicking reduced to a fine. This is ridiculous.
  3. You know what? You're right, it's frustrating. At the same time, every team goes through this...Steelers have lost Ben and played their first 3 games without Bell. They don't have Martavis Bryant either. NE lost Brady to suspension, their 2 backup QBs to injuries, and didn't have Gronk to start the year. They're also now without their best defensive player in Collins. How do they beat Miami? Play stifling defense, grind out drives on the ground with whichever RBs are in the lineup, and hit a few big plays in the passing game to guys like Hunter, Goodwin, and Clay. Is that going to be easy? No way, no how...doesn't change the fact that it's the only path to victory.
  4. Their CB evaluation of Buffalo matches the eye test
  5. I didn't see my statement as an attack; it was a simple comment implying that you didn't seem to be taking everything into account. Admittedly it could've been worded better.
  6. I have no idea why you would offer an opinion if you didn't want responses. I also had no idea that responding to your statement that thinking the NFL had a major issue on its hands for denying knowledge of a second domestic incident was tantamount to "hysteria" qualified as policing thought. Unless what you're really saying is "let me have my opinion and don't disagree with it", in which case it's helpful to the rest of us if you note that you don't want to discuss it further...otherwise someone like me might get the idea that your opinion is open to critique (much like you felt about the apparent "hysterics" of the board).
  7. Um, you called multiple people out for supposed hysteria--I merely told you that you needed to understand the situation better in response. See below...
  8. But also... Jason La CanforaVerified account ‏@JasonLaCanfora 21m21 minutes ago Joe Flacco again missed practice though there is so optimism he'll play. Hearing it's 50/50 right now for Shady McCoy
  9. It's probably a follow up to this gem: Drew Boylhart ‏@DrewBoylhart 18h18 hours ago What causes hamstring issues? Dehydration. What causes Dehydration? Alcohol, Most of #NFL players with cronic hamstring injuries? #Guess
  10. They could, but at the same time, it would bring a ton of heat down on the player.
  11. I should've shut up and read--nice summary No, you need to understand the sequence of events better.
  12. I think it's a terrible look. They instituted a policy that mandated a 6-game suspension for DV, which they then deviated from because they supposedly didn't have enough information about previous cases. However, they themselves had intervened in another domestic disturbance that was subsequent to the initial arrest.
  13. This is a last-ditch attempt to save face; they clearly knew it was an issue since the pro bowl, and they went light on him anyway.
  14. But can Pegula-owned teams score in both Canada and the United States?
  15. The NFL themselves apparently had to step in and thwart threatening behavior at the Pro Bowl just 4 months before his suspension was handed down resulting from an arrest in May of 2015. They knew first-hand that it wasn't isolated.
  16. The answer is very simple: it's totally understandable that he has the feelings he has; the actions he takes are 100% his responsibility. He can get counseling behind bars.
  17. This is an enormous problem. The Giants knew about it and did nothing, which means that--if the NFL were functioning properly--they'd be sanctioned. However, with the NFL also knowing about it, they can't drop the hammer without looking like a bunch of massive hypocrites. This exacerbates how bad it looks to have gone so remarkably light on Brown in the first place, even after claiming that DV was an automatic 6-game suspension. Furthering the bad look is that they claimed it was because it was an isolated incident for which they didn't have enough information. I really think this could be Roger's ouster.
  18. With the heightened sensitivity to this issue, Roger's goose might be cooked.
  19. I don't mean that Goodell should've changed his reason for the suspension--he shouldn't have included in the terms of the original suspension that Brady had full knowledge of an apparent attempt to skirt the rules. He worded that too strongly. And yes, the whole investigation was conducted poorly. I don't deny that for a second. And I say all of this within the context of the issue only--I don't believe for one second that NE needed to do this in order to win; Brady is that good. Same thing with Spygate all those years ago: no need to do it, but they did.
  20. The issue here is that we've got a guy that calls himself "the deflator", who takes the balls to the field by himself (against league rules), disappears into a bathroom with the game balls for enough time to tamper with them, lies about going into the bathroom at all, then lies about what he did when he was in the bathroom (claiming on multiple occasions that he dropped the balls to his left and used a urinal on his right, when in fact no urinal exists in that bathroom), and then changes his story when asked about it on multiple occasions. Add to that mix that Brady claimed he didn't know McNally when in fact he did, and lump in the fact that Brady and Jastremski hadn't spoken for 6 months prior to the accusation, after which they talked over the phone for several long conversations, and then Brady destroys his phone--supposedly because that's standard procedure for him...except that he still had 2 old phones that he never destroyed. Clearly something went on, and to deny that would be to toss by the wayside some seriously incriminating behavior by all 3 parties. Where Goodell erred was in his phrasing of the suspension--all he had to do was say that Brady was being suspended for not fully cooperating with the investigation by destroying his phone after it was requested. Done. No multiple appeal process necessary, because the reason for the suspension can be proven, and the CBA gives him the power to suspend for that infraction.
  21. Oh man, he was that bad in the first half against the Bills in 2014. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000417976/Week-8-Bills-vs-Jets-highlights
  22. Doesn't matter--it has to cross the goal line before the whistle to count
