  1. Hah! I see what you did there
  2. Eric Wood also said that he didn't know.
  3. As it turns out, I was correct about knowing who the other poster was talking about, and I can absolutely vouch for what he's saying from personal experience.
  4. I don't know that I know your guy, but I can darn well bet that I know his method. I've run similar information up the flagpole at 1BD EDIT: and if I'm correct, there's someone in Rochester that uses the same method
  5. Hook him up to the ARPwave and get him out there
  6. Get a look at Budda Baker from Washington too...
  7. Peppers is a good one as well--pure athleticism contained within the eye-popping frame of a basketball power forward.
  8. For a reasonable contract, yes
  9. Get to 10-6 and I sincerely doubt it will matter with regard to playoff qualification.
  10. I would bet that, despite the TD, Belichick had a conversation with Gronk after that penalty.
  11. If I'm Bowles, I'm planning to be there next season, which means that I want to throw Geno to the wolves now while I get the other 2 more practice reps. I have 2 more years of Petty and 3 more of Hackenberg before I have to make a decision on them, but only 10 weeks of Geno.
  12. Except that he cost his team 15 yards...wait until after the game to say what you need to say.
  13. Yes yes yes!!!!
  14. IMO, the biggest takeaway from that game was that Buffalo was the more physical team on both sides of the ball--frankly, they beat NE up in all 3 phases. No question in anyone's mind that it'll be a much different game the second time around with Brady and a healthy Gronk. But that's an issue for another day, right now, it's Miami week.
  15. Right. The real question is going to be what they do at QB. Cap space won't really be an issue next year if Gilmore is allowed to walk. No. I'm saying that re-signing Zach this offseason would take priority over re-signing Preston the following offseason, because I believe that Ragland has closer to the same skill set that Preston has versus having the skill set of Zach. The other reasons that I support this idea include that there's an overlap year between when Ragland would have to take over for Preston, and that Ragland looked like a bona fide player as a Mike 'backer in college--this is a far cry from the idea of Seymour, who never even started in college, coming in and replacing Gilmore.
  16. I thought the perfect comparison was Jason Pierre-Paul, though Garrett is a far more polished prospect coming out of school than JPP was IMO
  17. I don't have an issue with that approach to tell you the truth. My only point is that this team needs to have a better plan in place than Seymour or Corey White if they let Gilmore walk. I like the idea of picking up a cap casualty...guys that I think may fit the bill are Sam Shields, Brandon Carr, Lardarius Webb, Jason McCourty, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Alterraun Verner. As to re-signing our own, I don't see a major need to re-sign Mills or Brown. While I like the way Mills has played, he was a 5th round pick that was a mid-season waiver wire pickup. There's a good chance that either Kouandjio or Henderson can play that spot, and absent that, I think there's a better chance that a mid-round rookie or mid-level veteran FA can come in and take that spot. There are a number of guys that will be available in FA that are similar to MIlls. I like Zach Brown quite a bit, and while I'd like to see him re-signed, he's having a big year and will probably be expensive. If they can get him for $5M/year or less, I'd take it and then let Preston Brown walk in favor of Ragland after next season. No question that WR is a big need next offseason. I also think that safety is a big need, with Aaron Williams likely to be the only guy back. Graham's release will save quite a bit of money, and he simply hasn't made many impact plays.
  18. Yes, he's significantly better than Corey White Maybe. In the 2013-2015 drafts (I just picked 3 years worth of data), there were 24 total corners drafted in rounds 2 and 3. Here are the guys that (from what I can recall) made legitimate year 1 impact: Ronald Darby Quinten Rollins Phillip Gaines Darius Slay Robert Alford Logan Ryan Here's the list: http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?position=CB&type=position There may be 1 or 2 guys that were impactful that I didn't list, so feel free to check me on that. If I'm correct, then that's 6 out of 24 (25%) that had a real impact in year 1.
  19. Completely agree with your take. 5-2 was the start they needed in order to put themselves in position to compete for a playoff spot, and they're knocking on the door. A legitimately good team would take care of business this Sunday, so let's hope that's what they do. I expect a tough game--division contests always are, but this one is on the road against a team that had what they believe to be a "signature win" last week. A team that you throttled twice last season, and certainly hasn't forgotten that.
  20. Nice job zeroing in on the one borderline-salvageable nuance of your previous post. Excuse my mistake, it was a headbutt and not a kick: https://twitter.com/YardsPerPass/status/783107646341668864 If this is the single thing that holds up from your previous post, then your entire point is still completely invalid...assuming you had one to begin with. Yeah, I wasn't really trying to take you to task for that opinion, but rather the idea that some folks feel confident enough in Seymour to say we can simply let Gilmore walk. I'm not a huge fan of franchising a guy unless you plan to extend him...the tag can often breed acrimony and a holdout, which in turn can lead to injury and poor performance. I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to tagging Gilmore, but I'd rather get a deal done or get a long-term replacement here.
  21. Phenomenal job of totally mischaracterizing 90% of the board. There was an entire thread about how bad he was in that game, and pretty much everyone agreed. In fact, most of the comments were that he and Darby were so bad that they should've given them safety help. Nitpicking at its finest. Please Stephon, go head-first into a guy that's kicking at your face in the final moments of a game that's in the bag...now that's smart football. It's not anyone's fault that you don't know how to identify coverages. Anyone with half a clue looked at the two views of the play and saw that everyone but Darby was in man coverage...what's more likely: that Darby got the coverage wrong, or that everyone else on the field that had a coverage role got it wrong? I know you're crusading here, but a little common sense wouldn't hurt.
  22. Well, there's a bit of fairness to the idea that he isn't an ideal fit for 2 out of the 3 defensive line positions that Rex uses in a 3-man front, which is why some folks (including myself) said that he wouldn't be a good fit for the system if Rex wants to be able to put guys at any position. That's still true. What's also true is that he's an ideal fit for the "T" position in Rex's D, which is what he's playing on an every-down basis.
  23. Again, I don't know how anyone can be confident in what they've seen (or, more appropriately, haven't seen) from Seymour. He's played ~10 snaps per game and made zero plays. Now don't be mistaken: I'm not picking on the guy. I'm merely saying that there's zero on-field, regular-season production that indicates that he's ready to be a starting corner, let alone a guy that can replace a top-10 corner like Gilmore.
  24. I don't know how anyone could come near this conclusion at this point; he's played 49 defensive snaps in 5 games. I'm fine if they don't re-sign Gilmore, instead choosing to spend the money elsewhere--they better have another plan for the starting RCB job aside from Seymour, as I don't know how they could be ready to rely upon him yet.
