  1. Anyone citing "letting go of Hogan" as an example of Whaley's incompetence, I kind of have a tough time taking seriously. I don't think it's an outrageous viewpoint to be anti-Whaley but it's hard to argue he hasn't made more good moves than bad ones if you factor in drafting, FA signings/who he let go and trades.
  2. Rooting for someone to win a Grammy because they're on a record label owned by a guy who also happens to own your favorite football team without being a fan of their music (I'm assuming) is a bit of a stretch. Just my opinion.
  3. This is exactly the type of thing that gives us liberals a bad name.
  4. How much you wanna bet Tyrod is a starter on opening day somewhere next season?
  5. Everyone says this but scoring has pretty much been the same for 50 years.
  6. Ha great post. We are in agreement but you may wanna page up if you think they're not out there. They usually say stuff to the effect of "the game was a lot tougher back then."
  7. Oh my God, I'M KIDDING. Tom Brady was already the greatest FOOTBALL player of all time- forget about QB- two years ago. Are you kidding me? The 4-0 > 4-2 crowd comprised, I would guess, a solid 10% of posters on this website. They have quieted down quite a bit the last few weeks. He's going to live to be like 130.
  8. Oh my God, I'm so sorry man, just saw this. Wish you the best as you get through this.
  9. Ehh. 4-0 still > 5-2. Montana was perfect, Brady can never be. Those three conference championship losses by Montana will forever cement him as the greatest.
  10. To say Brett Favre was a "backup" is incredibly misleading. Scott Mitchell was a bonafide backup. Matt Schaub. Steve Young best example.
  11. Yes it is a ridiculous post. The intent was to satirically expose how ludicrous an opinion it is to have- which many people on this website share. I'd like to think it's a bit more sophisticated than trolling. For one, I pointed out halfway through the first page that I was being sarcastic and laid out exactly the point I was trying to make. Either way.
  12. This was exactly the point of the thread. It's such elementary logic. Arguing with a 4-0 > 4-2'er is as frustrating as arguing with- well you can guess where I'd go with that.
  13. Yes I was blatantly messing around, as I've stated like ten times, beginning on the first page of the thread.
  14. I paid more than that and flew from Denver to Seattle to see him have the game of his career.
  15. You're more hung up on Taylor than Trump is on his hand size.
  16. All of these things are true: The Pro Bowl is the worst thing about the NFL. It's embarrassing. Being selected to the Pro Bowl as an alternate means very little. You don't get selected to the Pro Bowl, even as an alternate, two years in a row if you suck.
  17. Hate to say it, and I'm sure I'm not the first, but they didn't cheat this year and look what happened. They've bended the rules over the years but at the end of the day, what you see is what you get. And to compare it to inflated steroid power numbers is absurd. They'd be right where they are whether they ever cheated or not. And I hate them just as much as you all.
  18. Yes. This is the point. In fact, in terms of measuring playoff success/greatness (NO, SUPER BOWLS ARE NOT ALL THAT MATTERS, DAN MARINO IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE ALL TIME BESTS), I would say Super Bowl wins are worth five points and Super Bowl losses are worth two points. So four conference championships with no Super Bowl wins (Jim Kelly) trumps one Super Bowl win in only one Super Bowl appearance (Drew Brees) for instance.
  19. Wow. I didn't realize just how good I was at satire. Dude, for the hundredth time, I was kidding. Actually more than that, I was trying to make a point how ridiculous the 'Montana's 4-0 > Brady's 4-2' crowd sounded.
  20. But who was an middle-tier QB 30 years ago? Neil Lomax? Was he better than Matthew Stafford and Eli Manning? I realize they took more physical abuse but they definitely were not better at throwing footballs.
  21. What would lead anyone to think this game won't be close? I honestly thought this game would be a pick em. Very surprised to see the Pats -3. I'd imagine the Pats get 3 points based on Belichick and their experience. These teams are dead even going into this game.
  22. It has become apparent that several posters were unable to pick up the sarcasm in my original post. I WAS JOKING. Of course 4-2 > 4-0. I started the post because the argument to the contrary, which is a common one around here, is my biggest peeve of all football arguments. I apologize for the confusion.
  23. Dude I was joking.
