What do you mean you people? And you're still not grasping what I am saying and what the numbers that YOU SENT ME show. To play along with your "booze and hookers" analogy, it would be like if over the course of the last 100 years, I in fact blew $100K on booze and hookers (like you said) but then within the last ten years the hookers actually started to give me some of my money back so that now, all told, I have only blown $90K on hookers and booze. Yes, I have still blown $90K on hookers and booze but within the last ten years, I have actually netted $10K from the hookers. Furthermore, there is no indication of me spending any more on hookers and booze. The hookers are sick of me anyway and are heading back to hooker land, where they originally came from. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you really wanted to recover your $90K, it would cost you tens of billions of, yes, your and my tax dollars to do so. I happen to live in an area of the country where illegal Mexican immigrants are in abundance and heretofore, this was never an issue. Nobody gives a s**t. They work hard and make great food. Yet steel mill workers in rural Pennsylvania have been duped into thinking illegal Mexican immigrants are a pressing issue facing them even though they've never even seen one. I apologize for jumping to the conclusion that you were a Republican, even though every word of your post indicates you are. And for the record, I never said you were a racist. But yes, the idea that illegal Mexican immigrants are of grave concern to Americans everywhere, even in areas of the country where they don't exist (like where Donald Trump is from), is entirely a racist one. And yeah, Kyle Williams. -

Has it really come to this for you guys? The link you sent me backs up exactly what I said. I didn't say there are no illegal Mexican immigrants in the US. I said net immigration over the last decade is less than zero. Meaning there are less of them now than there were ten years ago. There are. Again, the link YOU SENT ME shows exactly that. And you can look anywhere to find that they commit crimes at a rate far lower than the general population. So to make this a priority of your administration (not to mention, allocating my tax dollars to pretty much a non-existent problem) is blatantly racist. And yeah, I think Kyle Williams has some football left in him. Front seven could be decent if Lawson takes a big step and Ragland looks anything like he did in camp last year. Gonna be interesting to see what they do to fill Gilmore's slot. He's a goner, right? -
Bucs offer Glennon over 7m/year to be backup QB
metzelaars_lives replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bucs are simply doing Glennon a favor to drive up his market value. If Brock Osweiler, who proved absolutely nothing more than Glennon as a pro (look at their numbers), got essentially 2 years, $36 million guaranteed, I would expect Glennon to be in for a nice payday. There's no way he stays with the Bucs. -

I totally checkmated you and all you're gonna give me is an "OK?" Do you have any sort of rebuttal? I am thrilled. If McDermott can do something with this defense, they sign a safety for $6 million per and draft Corey Davis at 10, they could be decent. The schedule is a little daunting though. No Clevelands or San Franciscos at home. -

Well for one, of course he is. Perhaps he doesn't drop n-bombs but condemning a Muslim guy in Paris for wielding a sword and not killing anyone and then not acknowledging a crazy right wing white guy who shot and killed six people in a mosque 100 miles from our border (within the same week) is over the top, overtly, wildly racist. Playing up the issue of illegal Mexican immigrants as an imminent threat when net immigration from Mexico has been below zero for a decade now and they commit crimes at a far lesser rate than the general population- also wildly racist. But that being said, I think the poster's point was more poking fun at the fact that Trump always insists he's the "least racist person you've ever known." Really glad Kyle Williams is back by the way. It's a indication that they're not tanking, which is what I was hoping for. -

I guess in the new America you can just say this kind of stuff. And if someone finds it inappropriate, they're just a "snowflake." -

Why not Use Transition Tag on Gilmore

Has anyone heard anything about Gilmore getting tagged? Is it starting to look like he just walks? -
Unintended Leak of Tyrod's Future??
metzelaars_lives replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember before last season arguing with you that he was a top 15-20 QB while you were saying he was the worst starting QB in the entire NFL. That's as high on him as I ever was. Sorry, that was for Chan. -
Unintended Leak of Tyrod's Future??
metzelaars_lives replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK but at the risk of playing chicken and the egg here, what if Tyrod Taylor was the QB of the 2015 Broncos? Or the 2016 Chiefs? Or the 2017 Bills with a top ten defense? I'd like to see what this team looks like with an improved defense before I declare that Taylor is incapable of leading a winning team. -
Unintended Leak of Tyrod's Future??
metzelaars_lives replied to theesir's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the whole idea of this "Tyrod fanboy" you speak of is a classic strawman, created by a handful of posters on here. Case and point, I myself have been accused of being a fanboy but what I am, in actuality, is a realist. Tyrod Taylor is definitively a starting caliber NFL QB. If he doesn't start for us, he's starting for someone else. He's probably around the 20-25th best QB in the whole world. While he is frustratingly slow with his progressions and often times needs to get rid of the damn ball, he is also fairly accurate, avoids the big mistake (really any mistakes), he's the most dynamic running QB in the league and he's proven that he can put points on the board. That's what he is. Has he hit his ceiling? I don't know, maybe. But it's a fair argument to question whether or not they're gonna do any better right now. And to be honest, I'm not sure there's many posters out there who are any higher on him than that. So let me ask you this: am I a fanboy? And I agree with you about him not picking apart defenses and coming back from two TD's but I totally disagree with you about us being mediocre with him or as a result of him. I think everyone on this website would agree that we would have ended our playoff drought by now if we had the 2013-14 defenses the last two seasons. I think Rex damaged this defense more than maybe you realize. -
Why not simplify the stategic plan for next year.
metzelaars_lives replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't necessarily disagree. Keep Taylor, healthy Lawson, healthy Ragland, Kyle Williams decides to play, Aaron Williams decides to play, sign a starting caliber safety for $6 million per, tag Gilmore, Watkins is really healthy this time, restructure a few contracts, draft Corey Davis at 10, this isn't a bad football team. -
2017 will be a success if we (fill in the blank)
metzelaars_lives replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I give up. I am as big a Taylor apologist/optimist as anyone but the Bills had a top 5 OL in football last season. -
There's no doubt in my mind that if they let Taylor go that others will follow and that their objective next season will not be to win football games. Unless they got Romo, which isn't happening. We are in complete agreement. Life is too short for a tank, I don't have the time or the patience after what we've already endured and I think Brandon realizes that as well. I think they have enough pieces in place to justify not having to tank.

That's really all that needs to be said about this.

Who ends their playoff drought first, Bills or Sabres?
metzelaars_lives replied to Peevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This thread perfectly illustrates exactly what I'm talking about: the Bills suck, even though they had a positive point differential last year, they have a top 5 running back in the game, a top 5 OL in the game, a stud receiver when healthy and a very talented front seven. Would I consider them a team with an arrow pointing up? No, but let's see who they snag at 10. They keep Tyrod, renegotiate a few contracts, get a legit safety in FA and draft Mike Williams/Corey Davis at 10 and maybe get a spark from a coach who's not a clown, they may not be all that bad. Meanwhile the Sabres ARE BAD despite the fact everyone always has their rose-colored glasses on when it comes to them. The Sabres making the playoffs next year is far from a safe assumption. They should be better than they are right now- something is off with them (I think it's Bylsma). But Toronto is ahead of them, Montreal isn't going anywhere, Boston is still better than them and Tampa Bay and Florida both have more talent than the Sabres. I'm telling you, this one is a coin flip. Shattenkirk would be the most ideal fit for the Sabres ever. See what happens. Good thread though. -

metzelaars_lives replied to Peevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As it stands right now, the Bills are a better football team than the Sabres are a hockey team. It's actually not that close. The Bills were a middling/average NFL team this season. Remember, they actually had a positive points differential and we're top ten in the league in scoring. The Sabres are definitively a bottom 5-10 team in the NHL. All that being said, I think the Sabres' long term outlook is definitely more favorable. But THAT being said, I'm a bit tired of the Bills getting piled on while everyone makes excuses for the Sabres and loves Tim Murray unconditionally. It's about time for them to put up or shut up. For the record, I have been calling for Bylsma's firing for over two months now. -
