  1. you know its telling you didnt "refudiate" him with any sort of evidence. 1) In 4 out of 13 starts he threw for less than 160 yards - yup he did 2) In 5 of those games he completed less than 52% of his passes - yup he did 3) He's had 3 seasons of taking the majority of his teams' snaps - yup he did- in 08 he played in all but 3 games for CIN. I would check your stuff before you come across like another poster who has a baseless opinion. All the stats he cited were accurate and not misrepresented. Just because it doesn't fit your narrative doesn't mean its incorrect.
  2. How? The still have $$ but their expenses are much lower bc they arent players........so how is it similar?
  3. The owners have plenty of money. Ralph isnt paying the players but still has his tv money. Matching front office peoples' 401k who make 40,000 isnt going to put him in the poorhouse. You cant compare the NFL to your job, its not even close to the same.
  4. Smith didnt say that at all. He said that $7 billion is the shared pot. Thats not profit either, its revenue. very major difference.
  5. But dude you dont understand. Fitz took our 30th ranked scoring offense and leapfrogged up to 28th in scoring. I mean we scored one more point a game last year than we did the year before!!!! one whole point!!! If we continued to upgrade our offense in such a drastic fashion who will stop the run on our 32nd ranked defense????????????????
  6. how many of those guys needed 7 years in the league to get that many starts?
  7. I havent seen anyone discuss the fact that owners are screwing their employees, i mean front office people. They have cut their pay and many, including Ralph said they will not get backpay when the season resumes. Talk about greed.
  8. It was a great pass for sure. But not a bomb, it was 50 yards. Fitz is limited by his arm strength. Greg Cosell, a highly regarded NFL man, regularly cited by King in MMQB, has the same opinion on Fitz's arm. """Fitzpatrick: Aggressive mindset, Willing to make stick throws in tight windows, Erratic accuracy, Undisciplined w/footwork + balance""""" He is inaccurate. Bowery, I understand your points. He did have the best season in years for a bills qb and i think that skews the analysis. I just dont think many QBs have that much improvement when they are 29 years old. His limitations are physical not mental or i would think differently. I just dont think he will improve his accuracy. Its not about the occasional bad throw, its about too many bad throws. I compared him to other qbs for several purposes. One was Rodgers, who had just as bad pass protection and still enjoyed success. There are other teams with just as bad pass protection but are able to succeed. We cannot wait for a Pats like line giving our QB ten mintues to throw to be successful. See also Pitt. I also compared him to Bradford. Yes he had a run game, but as a rookie put up very similar numbers to Fitz, who some are touting as the answer here. My point is not to simply say he "sucks" but to note that he is a band aid or a stop gap until we can find someone better.
  9. Its not about crapping on Fitz, or as Bowery did make an excuse for any negative point on his ability. There are too many people praising him as the next franchise/answer for QB. True, there are too many saying he's craptastic. I expect we will get more of the same Fitz this year, good yardage, decent amount of TDs and INTs. He has a Favre mentality with a Ivy League arm.
  10. off the top of my head the lions, jags, saints, giants, colts, bears, pats , jets, phins are having these workouts. I imagine if you looked you find nearly every team doing this. Again, the Bills players are doing nothing special.
  11. You have to blame the player too. He did not execute.
  12. I disagree. For example aaron rodgers was running for his life a good amount of the time but he is much better quarterback. Fitz was one of the lesser sacked QBs in the league... so lets not just say his O line sucked. Bradford threw the same amount of picks as a rookie with a terrible o line, and on about 150 more pass attempts. We can continue to blame everyone else but lets just understand Fitz is what he is, we cant close our eyes and pretend he's something more. I know he doesnt have the best weapons, but how many threads are there right now about how awesome our WRs are going to be this year? Listen, Fitz is just a journeyman QB who had a better than normal year. This is not the awakening of the next heir to the QB throne in Buffalo. You can blame the D, and they are certainly part of the problem, but dont forget Fitz threw for more TD's than INT's in a game only 5 times last year. and we only won 3 of them.
  13. Yes he did go to one, based on those INTs, it was a great season. He will never live up to that again, he simply isnt that good. Like i said he's a solid starter nothing more.
  14. not a terribly good season either. Lots of TDs but still only a passer rating better than 6 starters.
  15. Ha. Like i said even if it was dozens, say 72, which i dont think ive ever seen it that high, its still a very small rate. Smaller than walking through parts of the city. I agree, i think its rather silly to think there will be a spike in crime if theres no NFL. I just cant stand those who make game days at the Ralph sound like watching a game in south central LA.
  16. Byrd has always struggled with coverage, he is not going to become a pro bowl safety. His INTs two years ago were on terrible throws, go back and watch. He was in the right place to catch balls, its not like he was making great plays. I think he can be a solid starter but i think we are putting too much stock into him bc of the INTs and not critically evaluating his coverage skills, which is far more important.
  17. Indeed proper, but not commonly used, at all. Stadiums is the common usage and also proper. Ok, the numbers include those arrested outside the stadium. Even if you doubled the number you are still talking a minuscule rate. Getting 80,000 people together for an event and having a handful of arrests hardly is indicia of rampant violence.
  18. stadia? clever, but most people use stadiums. Acts of violence at the games and in the parking lots? I pulled a random article about arrests at a game. 33 arrests were noted. Thats 0.0004% of people who attended the game were arrested. Hardly a crime ridden violence zone.
  19. other teams are doing this too. This isnt something special the Bills players are doing. Not one of those players is a NFL star, yet. Lets not get too excited that some late round players are having a good time working out. It doesnt really mean a lot.
  20. my guess is the rights would be retained for whenever there is a season.
  21. he did counter the argument. If there was congressional intent certainly that would be the main point of the brief. Its not. The law applies to people refusing to work, meaning the workers. Here, the employers arent letting the workers work. Thats you you counter that argument. Its tough to argue a law means something that isnt in the statute. Especially, where there is no congressional intent to include anouther meaning.
  22. precisely. The timing is perfect now.
  23. Fitz had done absolutely nothing when we picked him up to be a backup........but he has since thrown 23 td in 13 games so we are set at QB for 4-6 years.
  24. Immediate post draft analysis is for the talk radio and msg board audience. How can one grade a draft before a down has been played. We wont know what we have for a while. Part of any player's development is coaching and opportunity in a system.
