  1. Thanks for the information. So many people seem really high on Reif. He always go high in Charlie Casserley's mocks and the ones done by Pat Kirwain and Tim Ryan on Sirius NFL radio. I do agree there is a much larger risk factor with him. DeCastro is definitely the safest pick in the draft.
  2. Just for my own research, what makes Rief better than Martin? It seems like the reviews on Martin have been very good. I like the fact that Martin is a true left tackle and should be a 10 year guy who can help in the running and passing games. I plan to do more research on Reif this week.
  3. So would you draft the best player available or base the pick on need.
  4. I'm having a hard time on where to rank Reif, Martin, and DeCastro. I think DeCastro is the best player, but the bills have good depth at guard. As for Martin and Reif, there seems to be pros and cons for each guy. I think a majority of people have Reif ranked higher. I am leaning toward Martin right now as he is a great athlete capable of handling left tackle, but also is good at getting to the second level to help out the run game. I will do a little more research on Reif in the near future. I think you are probably right about him being an All-Pro, and if that is true he should probably be the pick. Even if guards are not usually taken in the top 10. The Pouncey brothers have done a lot of good for the Steelers and Dolphins.
  5. With the bills making a few free agent signings, I thought it was time to reevaluate our draft boards.
  6. I have him at #7 on my draft board, meaning I would love to get him at 10. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/142667-your-official-draft-board/page__p__2394629__fromsearch__1#entry2394629
  7. What about the falcons Lofton? The bills still need a LB, and he is very good.
  8. I wonder if the bills should put pressure on Williams. It seems like he is stalling to see if another team can give him similar money, so he will wait. If the bills brought in a few more free agents, maybe he would take the bills offer, as he could lose millions of guaranteed money if the bills signed another player or two. This could be the wrong approach, but I thought I would throw the idea out there.
  9. If the Patriots want him he is gone. All they would need to do is surrender the 31st overall pick and handout a front loaded contract that the Steelers could not match due to their lack of cap space. New England has a lot of space, and could offer him a huge base salary this year. The bills however, would have to surrender the 10th overall pick to get him. Not as attractive.
  10. I think this is the order. 1) Byrd: The nfl is now more than ever a passing league. 2) Levitre: I love the bills ability to rush the ball 3) Jackson: If Byrd and Levitre get resigned soon I will feel relieved.
  11. I think the rams want to trade down and still get Blackmon, so they are hoping the deal with the browns. That is why I feel the their asking price would still be high if the other teams sign qbs. They would need more picks to make up for the fact that they would be passing on one of the best talents in the draft.
  12. There was just another thread on who the bills should draft. There is a pole, but the pole excludes a few possible selections. The only way to really show who you would draft is to create a draft board of 10 guys, as you know one will be available when the bills pick. So I will send this thread toward the top to see if it can get a few more responses. As mentioned before, feel free to update your list with each free agent signing and each pro day. Or as you read more information online.
  13. Thanks for the clarification. I assumed any player that was released would first go on waiver, but apparently that is only during the season.
  14. If the bills want him, they could have him. All they would need to do is put a waiver claim in. No one (including the bills) would pick up his 28 million dollar bonus, so he will clear waivers and be free to sign where he chooses. I think it is too much of a risk to give out 28 million for a player who is a medical risk, but if he is the Manning of old almost every team will regret not putting in a claim.
  15. I think he will be a Texan. They could not afford him at the franchise number, but with a long term deal they can spread out the signing bonus to reduce the cap number.
  16. I too have him out of my top 10. At first the perception was that he was an elite talent who was inconsistent. Now, there are some questions about his tangibles as well. Ingram would be my DE of choice, even though based on my board DeCastro would likely be my pick.
  17. I believe the "no thanks" response is a defense mechanism that should be used more often by bills fans. In recent years I have been frustrated by the bills lack of involvement during free agency. If I had simply said "no thanks" during every free agent discussion I participated in, I would have probably been happier. All kidding aside, I hope this is the years when Buffalo does go after some talent at positions of need.
  18. I agree with your analysis. I think the new question is will people's draft boards change with the probable resigning of Stevie. My initial impression is no, because the bills still do need another wr. I'm keeping my the same for now.
  19. It seems like each guy after 6-8 either has a fault or plays a position that is usually not taken in the top 10. There will be a very good player available, but Nix and crew will have to do their homework. That is why I had DeCastro so high on my board.
  20. The only clear objection I have to your board is Jeffery, even though I understand why he is there. He has a lot of talent, but hasn't always been productive. I think it is possible that he will last until the bills 2nd round pick. Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan have speculated that there may only be two WRs drafted in round 1. Just for my own research, why do you like Jeffery better than Floyd. I am constantly trying to research these guys, and your input could help.
  21. He kind of reminds me of Crabtree. He was at the top of the mocks at this point of the process a few years ago, but dropped to the bottom of the top 10 due to his lack of speed. I think Blackmon will be better than Crabtree, but there are some similarities. I'm sure the niners are disappointed with what they have gotten out of Crabtree. So while Blackmon is toward the top of my board, I think it is possible he could fall a few spots.
  22. I like your board 1billsfan. Over the course of the next 7 weeks I'm sure things will change a little. The guy I think who could drop a little is Blackmon. He was an amazing player, but is shorter than your typical "Big Receiver" and his 40 time is still a mystery. I'm keeping him toward the top for now, and he will probably not drop too far. Yeah, the mocks have done better a better job of evaluating first round talent than the bills have. Ranking the offensive linemen and the defensive ends is open to interpretation this year. The 2-5 linemen all have their supporters, and there appears to be 3 ends that have been mentioned as the top guy.
  23. The difference is that whoever gets him will not have to give up a first round pick like the bills did to get Bledsoe.
  24. There have been a lot of threads about who the bills should take in the first round. The reality is that you can not argue for just one guy, as he might not be there when the bills draft. I say we post our draft boards here, and edit our posts between now and the draft. I don't see any reason to go beyond 10, as Nix does not trade on draft day and if you go 10 deep at least one of your top 10 players will be available when the bills are on the clock. It will be fun to look back at this in future years and see who was the best GM. It will also be interesting to see if our picks were better than the bills. I will start. My draft board 3/21 (Updated after Mario Williams signing) 1) Luck 2) RGIII 3) Morris Claiborne 4 Kali 5) Blackmon 6) DeCastro 7) Luke Kuechly 8) Richardson 9) Baron 10) Cox 11) Floyd 12) Gilmore 13) Reiff 14) Dre Kirkpatrick 15) Martin 16) Ingram 17) Upshaw 18) Coples 19) Glenn 20) Mercilius 21) Perry 22) Adams 23) Ryan Tannenhill 24) Kendall Wright 25) Randle 26) Brockers 27) Hightower 28) Poe 29) Fleener 30) Konz 31) Randle 32) Worthy 33) Still 34) Sanu
