Last night on NFL Network they played a piece on Marcell Dareus where they briefly showed the Bills war room and Modrak was definitely at the head table next to Gailey (for the first pick at least).

I think the fact they coached him for the Senior Bowl was the biggest factor. All things being equal would you rather draft a player you spent a week working with and got to see in a practice setting or a player you maybe only met briefly once or twice?

Are you including the Nix/Gailey regime? If so I'd have to disagree, so far out of their 6 1st through 3rd round picks 4 have been front 7 players.

I don't like it. The three month old draft publication written by people who's qualifications are unknown to me that I'm going by says Hairston is the 126th ranked prospect but the Bills reached and picked him at 122.

I liked in his 1 on 1 with Chris Brown Marcell said that he's a nice guy and that Bills fans shouldn't be afraid to approach him when they see him around town.

I don't understand the fascination a lot of people have with these receiving TE's. Does it really matter that David Nelson is listed as a WR and not a TE when he's basically just running TE routes?

Did you sit down with Mallett and hear straight from him what's the truth behind all the rumors? Did you have a team of personnel evaluators working for months turning over every stone trying to get to the bottom of this whole Mallett thing? Every single NFL team that was in the market for a QB this offseason did this and evidently they didn't like what they heard from Mallett, or what they found out about him, or maybe both.

The NFL Network has to float stuff out there like this to build some drama for tonight. If all the analysts agreed that the top 4 picks at least are etched in stone (Newton,Dareus,Miller, then Green) it would be like saying the Draft starts at 8 but you really don't have to tune in until 8:40.

As far as I'm concerned if the Bills pick Miller or Dareus it's a winner either way.

I'd prefer the Bills go all defense with the first 3 picks, something like Von Miller, Muhammed Wilkerson, and Kelvin Sheppard.

I'm hoping that he does something/anything this season that gives him some trade value, maybe 4 sacks in spot pass rushing duty?

I didn't mean it as a negative at all. I really don't care whether or not Buddy or Chan are dishing out juicy off-the-record tidbits to the NFL blogosphere. I just think the disconnect between these 21st century techno-geeks like Jason LaConfora and an old-school good ol' boy like Buddy Nix is amusing.
