  1. He's probably having Stanford flashbacks of unblocked defenders sprinting towards him. He didn't lose his confidence, the offensive line killed it. Until thats fixed, he doesn't have a shot at winning games or regaining his confidence. Thats also the reason why we can't run the football.
  2. His average of 24.2 ypr is 13th in the NFL for kick returners with at least 20 returns. Going by yardage, he's 7th in the NFL. For returns of 20+ yards, he's 4th in the NFL. Not bad for a rookie who hasn't broken one yet! Also not bad for someone who has been consistently basted on here for "running straight into the defender." http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...amp;hl=mckelvin http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...amp;hl=mckelvin http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...amp;hl=mckelvin
  3. Agree completely. To add to your post (and its been brought up before), Kenneth Davis averaged 4.5 ypc in his 6 years with the Bills, and Thurman averaged around 4.1 ypc.
  4. I think that ESPN is dying for the Dolphins to make it. Miami is the 4th largest urbanized area in the country behind NY, LA, & Chicago, and they have the omniscient Parcells. They're licking their chops at the thought of something other than illegal immigrants to come out of Miami, and have been for sometime now. Hell, last year, they were probably the most publicized and talked about 0-? team in history.
  5. Is it Jap or Chinese? All I got from Bablefish is this: "The beginning it does and the small straw raincoat we want also the [gu] [re] monkey the [ge] 也" Regardless of what it means, I like that the words 'small straw' and 'monkey' came up.
  6. I agree with this, too. The Pats are on their way down while we're on our way up. They're still going to be a good team as long as Brady & Moss are around, but they're both 31, which isn't that old for a QB and WR, but they aren't going to be the same dominant players year in and year out anymore. Their D isn't getting any younger other than Mayo (who really needs to be accounted for on Sunday) and their secondary is very suspect. Hopefully this will be the game that we start to turn the tides on them!
  7. And he calls himself a fisherman... lololololololo As Shaq would say, "don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk."
  8. Agree completely. Dems could have put Gary Coleman up there and painted him up like a great leader this year. I really fear for the future if some of this campaign fodder comes to fruition as well.
  9. We can win this game the same way that AZ beat us. We're going in with our backs to the wall in a must win situation. If we come out swinging, and play the whole game that way, we can get a win. If we come out strong and then back off, we'll get blown out.
  10. Yeah, no matter how many different ways I run through it in my head, an uncapped season for the Bills can't be anything but trouble.
  11. Yes, it will help with the negativity, but it won't help with the glaring problems that the team has right now (oline, dline). Thats something that only an offseason could fix. We just don't have the right players to be as successful as the best teams in the league right now. The OLine is alot better off as far as personnel (I think that it's a matter of time before they come together), but the Dline is pulling the team down right now. Its a huge liability given the scheme that we run on D. Only time will tell if it gets fixed this offseason or not. This isn't meant to be a hopeless "The seasons over" post, as I still think that we'll be competing come playoff time, but with this DLine, I can't see us going far. When we don't blitz, we get picked apart in our zone. When we blitz, we get picked apart by screens and dump offs that turn into big plays.
  12. Wow. That would be a pretty big change. I agree that the players shouldn't get more of a raise though. It doesn't make much sense to even request that, IMO.
  13. No, for the last 8 years, we've been pretty much out of it by this point. At least this year, we've got a good shot at the playoffs, not a long shot.
  14. A strong DT is what we're missing. Stroud has been good, but take a look at what Jenkins did yesterday. He was everywhere and he basically stopped our run game between the tackles by himself. Not only that, he got consistent pressure on Trent while doing so. I really believe that if you take him out of the lineup yesterday for the Jets, we have a much, much better chance of winning the game. I think as a whole, our D is better than the Jets, but we're still lacking at key positions that make our D look very normal. For instance, on the TD run for the Jets up the middle, there was no push or pressure up the middle, the guard blew up Poz since he didn't have to double the DT (not sure if it was Stroud or Williams), and the back went in basically untouched. On a good defense, the LB's are filling holes, not taking on lineman. On a side note, he was had for a 3rd & 5th this past offseason, same as Stroud. Stroud took over game 1 vs Seattle, but since then, he's been more of a role player than a gamechanging DT.
  15. Just to clarify, Schrobel is actually our Japanese player that nobody knows about. In American dialect I believe its pronounced Alan Schobel.
  16. Its also a guess to say he was a reach 20 games into his career. Apparently, all the draft analysts who called him 1st round talent last year had it wrong and you are right.
  17. I absolutely think ML fits in with these guys. My point was that the Bills front office realized that without a very good running back, they weren't going to get anywhere. They drafted the best RB that was on the board in 2007. They didn't have time to sift through 2 or 3 years of lower round picks to see who materialized as a legit back 2 or 3 years after they started their careers. They needed a back who could start at day 1, which is a tough thing to find unless you have your pick of pretty much everyone (minus Peterson). Even then, it's a crap shoot. I'm not saying that they aren't elite backs, I was saying that they didn't start when they were drafted. They've matured into elite NFL backs. And I realize the situations that surround Turner and the other regarding their teams' depth. My main point is that they weren't drafted to be day 1 starters and they didn't play as the starters from day 1. Buffalo's situation in 2007 was that they needed a back who could step in immediately and make an impact. 1100 yds and 7 TD's in your rookie year shows that Marshawn is well on his way to having an elite career. All I'm saying is that comparing Lynch to someone like Westbrook isn't fair yet. Lynch is 20 games into his career.
  18. Barber - 2005 Westbrook - 2002 Gore - 2005 Turner - 2004 Lynch - 2007 Maybe before pulling the plug on him just yet, we should wait and see what he does in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th seasons first. You know what the key to success for those guys above? Letting them develop. With the exception of Turner, they are all starters who have had plenty of bad games. In fact: Westbrook didn't do anything in the league for 2 years. Barber had nothing but short TD's in his first two years and didn't earn a starting spot until his second year. Gore started his rookie year in 1 game, but played in 14. He had 600 yds. Lynch has more career yards than Turner does, and he was drafted 3 years later. Lynch came in from day 1 and literally hit the ground running which is EXACTLY why we drafted him. He's not a project, or a long shot. He's a legitimate NFL running back who started right from the start of his career and will prove to be one of the elite backs in the NFL over time. Not many backs in this league can say that, including the 4 listed above. Sure there are backs that are better then him, but there isn't one post on this board that is saying he is the best RB in the league. Your tag line sucks, too.
  19. Ralph? Actually, I think that we should negotiate since he'll be playing a whole season at LT once the year is over. However, we can't even think of paying him top flight money, like many said we should give him during the holdout. I say tops of around $5MM-$6MM/yr for 3-4yrs. Prior to the season, pretty much everyone (including myself) was set on $10MM/yr if he returned to his ProBowl level for the entire season, which he hasn't.
