  1. Let's see. In 2001, we traded our first rounder to Tampa Bay for their first and second round picks. Tampa Bay picked Kenyatta Walker, and we picked Nate Clements and Travis Henry. In 2002, we traded our 2003 first rounder for Drew Bledsoe. We used our own first rounder that year to select Mike Williams. In 2003, the Patriots used our first rounder to select Ty Warren. In 2003, we franchised Peerless Price, who had the best season of his career in 2002 with Drew Bledsoe throwing him the ball, and traded him to Atlanta for their first rounder. We used that pick to select Willis McGahee. In 2004, we used our own first round pick to select Lee Evans and traded our 2005 first rounder to Dallas for their 2004 first rounder, which we used to select JP Losman. In 2005, the fact we have Losman made Drew expendable, so we cut him and Dallas signed him. The fact we have McGahee made Travis expendable, so we're on the verge of sending him to Arizona for L.J. Shelton. In 2005, we'll have Nate Clements, L.J. Shelton, Mike Williams, Willis McGahee, Lee Evans and JP Losman to show for the first round of TD's five drafts in Buffalo. Does anyone think we could have parlayed Kenyatta Walker (whom everyone wanted us to take in 2001) into a lineup like that by now? No Bledsoe, therefore no Price breakout year. No Price breakout year, therefore no McGahee. No McGahee and no Henry, therefore no Shelton.
  2. Who hijacked FFS's account?
  3. I think he would make a fine Arena League quarterback.
  4. A few dollars over the league minimum. If he wants more, let the Jets deal with him.
  5. I don't know where you all are getting this "he wouldn't mind playing the backup role" from. He didn't want to give up the starting job in Miami and fought for it three years in a row. He'll be looking for a place where, if he can't start, he'll at least have the opportunity to play some. He doesn't think he's done yet. (I do, though. And so do 32 NFL general managers.)
  6. And I can't wait for him to get rid of all his Bills stuff too. Maybe he'll also get rid of that imaginary ring he said he was going to win in Buffalo.
  7. Even better was George Teague knocking him 50 feet off the star the second time he did it. I hate the star but T.O. was an ass for doing that.
  8. Nick's on Main Street is still there, isn't it? It's just not open late anymore.
  9. I thought Babe Ruth WAS black.
  10. Prior to 1960, that is.
  11. And you know, I was always more impressed by this:
  12. Or you could just read this.
  13. That's better than the $13.95 travel alarm clock we used.
  14. Jay Pee.
  15. He's the full hot orator, dude!
  16. Which is it, dude, is he gonna sh-- or is he gonna kill us? First he's gonna sh--! Then he's gonna kill us!
  17. From the anagram site: HE'S A DICK CONCUR. CHOCK
  18. Cris Collinsworth didn't play for anybody BUT the Bengals! Get another cup of java.
  19. And then top off the night at Gitsis on Monroe. Nothing like their 4 a.m. breakfasts...
  20. Catch an Amerks game if you can. Best hockey in North America right now.
  21. They're real excited about him down there.
  22. Man. I'm glad Google wasn't around ten years ago.
  23. How come Ed Werder knows Drew was officially released but neither ESPN's transactions wire nor bb.com is saying this?
  24. It's even funnier that the Cowboys have apparently signed Drew to a contract when the Bills haven't officially released him. So when do we get our compensatory picks from the Cowboys for tampering? I'd think this is worth the first-rounder we gave them for JP.
  25. I was ten years old and didn't see it live, as I was living here in Rochester. My best friend heard about it before I did and called me after dinner (or whenever it was that the game ended) screaming "We beat the Russians! We beat the Russians!" I had another friend who was at the Amerks game that night when they announced the score. Apparently half the crowd left immediately to go watch the ABC broadcast. A day or so later I went to an "Amerks Pizza Party" that was held in the old McCurdy's at Midtown. I sat between the veteran Ron Garwasiuk and a 19-year-old kid named Geordie Robertson. I had the best damn seat in the place, between two Amerks Hall of Famers. Dave "The Hammer" Schultz was there too, Bobby Mongrain, Daryl Drader, Chris Halyk, Joe Kowal, on and on. The heroes of my youth. I asked Garwasiuk -- and pay attention to the pronouns -- "Do you think we can beat Finland?" To which he replied, "Well, if they beat the Russians, they'd better beat Finland." It didn't occur to me until much later that Garby was Canadian and probably didn't give a rat's ass.
