  1. Wow great evidence, you've really got me convinced.
  2. And by the way, I consider myself a political liberal, but Mr. Olbermann is a blowhard just like the rest of them.
  3. Keith Olbermann went to college at Cornell. While there, he was a member of the radio station WVBR. On WVBR he invented and hosted a show called Sports Roundup. The show is still around today and I am the current host of it. As part of a campaign to run for sports director at the station next year, I thought a good initiative would be to get in contact with Mr. Olbermann and try to convince him to do a phone-in interview on the show. (WVBR keeps good tabs on all its alumni so finding him wasn't so hard) After a grueling process of having a multitude of conversations with his underlings because apparently he just doesn't like answering phones, I convinced them to put me on with Olbermann himself. This is how the conversation went. Me: Hello Mr. Olbermann, my name is Jay Sage and I'm with WVBR sports. I host Sports Roundup and I was wondering if you could take some time out of your schedule for a short phone interview. The show is Sundays at 7. Keith: I'm going to stop you right there. I bailed you as*holes in 97 with the understanding you wouldn't bother me anymore. If your general manager had you call me, he can go to hell. Then he hung up. What he was referring to was a large donation he gave in 1997 which bailed the station out of some hard financial times. I couldn't believe how much of a complete dick he was to me. It seems Keith has forgotten his roots. ESPN and (to some extent) WVBR made him what he is, and now he is a pure and unadulterated as*hole to both. He can go to hell.
  4. What the hell are you talking about? Ellison did a GREAT job out there. First, he had 6 tackles. Second, he's one of the best coverage linebackers in the game. Last season, he gave up the lowest yards per attempt when the opposing QB threw to the man he had covered. Ever notice how tight ends don't seem to fare very well against us? That is in large part due to Ellison. Where does everybody get it in their heads that he's bad?
  5. I'd be pretty pissed if I ordered pasta from a nice Italian place and they gave me Pizza Hut. Has anybody seen the new one where they have people in a French bakery and they give them Pizza Hut Chocolate Dunkers? It's so stupid. The Pizza Hut lady says in this ridiculously fake French accent "would you like to try our new French dunkers?" Yep, that's what they eat for dessert in France. Dunkers.
  6. The voting public would've seen Trent this week if it weren't for a few helium balloons
  7. Another one is Silence of the Lambs. I didn't think the book was all that well written.
  8. It was a good movie, but he's correct about the book being better. Then again, that's usually the case.
  9. I attended a lecture with Dr. James Maas, a renowned sleep expert, who says that dream recall has everything to do with finishing your body's last REM cycle. To finish the last REM cycle, most people have to sleep for more than 8 hours. Give that a try if you want to remember. And I can remember dreaming in black and white a couple times, but not often.
  10. I do understand the OP but I like to point out that Qwest Field is loud because of the way it's engineered and not necessarily because of the fans. I know some guys from Seattle here at Cornell who insist the Seahawks' fan base is the rowdiest because of Qwest's reputation but I sincerely doubt that's true. And by the way, those Seahawks "fans" that I know have already given up on the season and quit paying attention to the games, despite the incredibly weak division in which they play.
  11. From what I heard, the vacuum was dressed real slutty and pretty much asking for it.
  12. Yep, you gotta be up in the trenches (bleachers). I would never leave the upper deck.
  13. Acoustically speaking, I don't think the Ralph could ever trump Qwest Field no matter what the intensity of the fans is. Qwest has consistently seen the opposing team get penalized for more false starts and offsides than any other stadium.
  14. Would you mind telling us exactly which website he SHOULD be using?
  15. No, but any time that you combine the phrases *insert band here* and "exclusively at WalMart" you may be talking about the biggest sell out of all time.
  16. So I just saw a commercial for AC/DC's newest album Black Ice, and apparently they've made it available only at WalMart. I wonder how much money the band members got for striking this little deal. In their own words "C'mon, c'mon love me for the money. C'mon c'mon let me hear the money talk." Sell outs. And artists wonder why people illegally download.
  17. On PTI Thursday, Tony Kornheiser surmised that Gonzales blocked trades to Buffalo and Atlanta because he's 32 years old and didn't want to risk playing at home stadiums with artificial turf. I don't usually put much stock into what Korny says and I'm not necessarily say it's true, but it's an interesting theory at least.
  18. IMO anybody who laughs at this and is happy about another man's agonizing pain should have to feel that pain themselves. What do you suppose this board's reaction would be if someone posted a link to a Pats* message board making fun of TE for his concussion and saying they were glad it happened? We'd call them as*holes right? So don't be as*holes. Hate the Patriots, not an injured member of their team that's never done anything to you or the Bills.
  19. I'm having a fun time imagining the conversation between Favre and Romo Romo: My pinky hurts, I have to be out for a month Favre: Just play, you kitty and stop being such a little prick Romo: Let me ask Jessica if it's ok I think Romo should play if he wants to prove he's the leader of the team and not just a celebrity who happens to play football (something he seems to be turning into). Imagine the multitude of aches, pains, strains, and sprains Favre has endured during his 258 game streak of consecutive starts. The QB is the general and if he isn't incapacitated to the point that he can't help the team, then he ought to be out there.
  20. Agreed. I don't think we have one single game this year that will make the public or the media consider the Bills an elite team. Let's say we beat the Chargers. It's east coast versus west coast and we had the advantage being at home. Let's say we beat the Broncos. Their defense sucks. The Patriots? They don't have Brady. We might get some attention for beating the Jests because ESPN thinks Brett Favre is Christ Risen but that's about it. Unfortunately we'll have to win in the playoffs for anybody to buy us as legit contenders.
  21. Well I don't have any facts, figures, or expertise on the subject but I'd be willing to bet it happens more than you or I would imagine. But if it doesn't happen, then that's the result of programs like welfare and food stamps. But here's what I think about the free internet. We've reached the point where the internet is an invaluable, almost necessary, source of information and education for children. There's a viscious cycle out there which prevents the children of poverty from rising above their situation and lacking the tools to compete intellectually with their wealthier peers is one of them. They don't have the internet. If they go to school, they probably have outdated textbooks and cramped classrooms. Of course the internet isn't a "right" but if it provides more equal opportunities and helps impoverished Americans pick themselves up by their bootstraps I'm all for it.
  22. Some people can't afford food, so by your logic that means they don't need it right?
