  1. perspective is required. we're not talking about sports. we're talking about sales. it's a ****ty job, that requires doing whatever you can to get the customer to like you. if the boss thought that the tie was an obstacle in any way to this guy having customers in chicago like him, then he's justified in asking him to take it off. and justfied in firing the guy when he refused. if it's some other job, i don't feel the same way.
  2. He asked him to take off the tie twice, it's not like the guy wasn't given a chance. I agree the boss sounds like a dick, but as I've stated throughout this thread, salesman need to make their customers trust and like them. Wearing a Packers tie in Chicago could be an obstacle to that goal.
  3. Not if that court is in Chicago. Again, we're talking about a job where the sole skill is to make people like you and trust you. You don't do that by wearing a Packers tie in Chicago. It's just common sense.
  4. What? Salesman will be less likely to kiss ass if the customer is paying cash?
  5. Thanks Law Professor. Oh wait, no it's not.
  6. If you're spending $20,000 on a toaster, toilet seat, or computer someone will be there to kiss your ass.
  7. He pissed his boss off on multiple occasions. This in a field where the only required job skills are kissing ass.
  8. I'm starting to become a little creeped out by this "They" character. Does anyone else think the board might be self-aware? Are we doomed? Does anyone know where I can order a tinfoil hat? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9005367754264973286# They Live
  9. A walk in the woods is a great one by Bryson.
  10. I wonder if he even enjoyed Lentil sandwiches?
  11. If you had facts that she doesn't have, I could understand why you might feel like the right thing to do would be to tell her. But in this instance, you're talking about only your opinion, as it sounds like she has the facts, and is already willing to ignore the situation. I'd leave it be, especially considering your work situation.
  12. thanks, this just made my day
  13. Now we know DW's handle.
  14. I kind of want to fight Pat Kirwan. That mustache makes me so mad.
  15. http://www.suntimes.com/3468147-417/knee-cutler-jay-mcl-smith.html So, is a torn MCL enough of an excuse for him to come out of the game?
  16. I'd prefer a Twitter championship. Some kind of Tweet off. Between Donte and Stevie Johnson we might have had a real shot at a championship here in Buffalo.
  17. This proves once and for all that Whitner is not one to !@#$ with. Sarcasm.
  18. Thanks professor. Somebody should've told Marv his speech was wrong, maybe we would have won one of those super bowls.
  19. Their run game wasn't helped much by Creaky Knees Adams. Their interior line is probably the best in the league.
  20. You have to run, pass, block, catch, kick and tackle better than your opponents. That's what wins championships.
  21. Pittsburgh could not pass yesterday, because the protection was bad. Roethlisberger's stats back that up. Luckily for them they didn't have to, because the running game was working, largely thanks to the interior of the line. Remember, Pitt's offense only scored 17 points (7 were scored by the Defense on the fumble run back.) Passing Stats: C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT RATING B. Roethlisberger 10/19 133 7.0 0 2 35.5 Pittsburgh also signed Sean Kugler, maybe you'd like him back as well?
  22. Don't give me that card. Now that I'm prepared, I feel much better.
  23. Yeah, that's exactly what Urlacher is going to say. language filter is breaking the link. You can probably figure out what was there before kitty.
  24. Probably not, but they're not announced until March. Last year's notice: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?confirm=true&id=09000d5d81716904&template=with-video-with-comments
