Fred Jackson shows for conditioning
billsfreak replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is plain silly. I don't think Fred Jackson is capable of taking the beating of being a full time starter, no do I think he has the elusivness needed to start. He is an excellent backup/change of pace back at best. -
Fred Jackson shows for conditioning
billsfreak replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is very possible after Lee Evans last year, now Stroud, maybe he got the message that if you show up and be a team player, the Bills are more likely to work with you and increase your contract. I think it is "Spot On" on how an organization should do business. I haven't been a big fan over the past decade of the Bills FO but they are handling these cases just right. -
I have met Moorman at camp almost every year since the Bills signed him and he has always been a class act, and will sign for as long as anyone wants his signature, or until the coaching staff blows the horn. He is a super nice guy, and not to mention one of the best 2-3 punters in the league.

ESPN not mass covering owens
billsfreak replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like it was made a bigger deal of here on TBD than on ESPN. Why should someone make a big deal of a player making 6.5 million for one year, showing up for mini camp like he should? -
Sorry, had to post this, too funny to pass up.

Maybe they call it that because often times you have to have a pretty good pitch to get on it! -

At least in my younger days, some 30 years ago it was referring to the hair around it? Not sure if it still means the same nowadays. -

Wait until the first time Wang gets yanked from the mound! Or maybe when his wife has a kid and it is american-"2 Wongs don't make a White!" -
Why can't we draft like it was 1985 anymore?
billsfreak replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kinda agree with you that with all those picks, there were really only 3 players that stuck, but please: An above average WR? No player at any skill position that retires in the top 3-5 in the history of the NFL is only an above average player. If Reed was only above average, than Jim Kelly was only above average too, and I am not dissing Kelly, like many people, he is my favorite player ever, but look at the stats, he isn't nowhere near Montana, Elway, Marino, etc. Riech may have been a backup, but he was as important to the Superbowl run as almost any player on the team, as Kelly said himself in his retirement speach. -

Maybe if you post on here a lot you should also post something constructive once in awhile. I am not thin skinned just don't deal with idiots too well, that can dish it out but can't ever take it. -
Ok let's roll, I want to talk some football.

Good post, but I slight disagree on a couple things. I do think Peters will be gone, too many bridges have been burned by both sides in this stalemate, and he is asking way too much. It may happen, but I think it would be a big mistake to trade Parrish. He is the most exciting Punt Returner in the AFC if not the entire NFL, and with McKelvin most likely starting on defense now, not sure you want him returning all kicks. McGee is not as young as he used to be, so probably not a good idea to have him returning kicks anymore full time while playing CB. As far as Losman, now that he has been a FA for what 2-3 months now, and nobody outside of TBD has mentioned his name, he might realize that he is not going to be given another shot at starting right away, will sign with a team that probably has a starter entrenched, like Delhomme in Carolina, or maybe even New Orleans or San Diego. I do think the Bills would like to trade down, but so would 90% of the teams ahead of them, so not sure the opportunity will arise for them to drop for additional picks. -

I didn't mean to sound snippy as you put it? But every other post I have put on these boards for the past month, has been followed up by a post by yourself being critical of my post. I am not the only one you do that to either, do you ever post information about the Bills or are you just the SKOOBY-2 police, whatever a SKOOBY-2 is? -

Sorry I will turn myself into the authorities immediately. -
Is it possible that the Bills extended Stroud two more years to send the message that if you come into the facility, work hard, be a team player, they will deal with you. If you hold out, whine, B word and moan, then they will let you hang. Last season while Peters was holding out, Lee Evans was in camp and off season workouts and he got a big extension. Just a thought.

Bills were in serious discussions with Philly about Peters
billsfreak replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I too think Peters will be gone before the 2009 season starts. Both sides have handled this situation poorly and too many bridges have been burned. Lets just hope someone over pays for him. -
I am thinking about not going into work today, I don't think I get paid enough, although I am getting paid under the rules. I shouldn't have to pay attention to rules or contracts.
-
I have a source deep within-oh nevermind, its gone, I farted!
-
Pass around whatever you are smoking, no team in the league should give up half of what the Broncos got for Cutler to the Bills for Peters.
-
Peters wants a new contract/Jackson wants a new contract
billsfreak replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I wouldn't care if they traded Peters yesterday, at least he accomplished something in one good season, Trent hasn't accomplished anything yet. But the Bills are no different than any other team in the NFL when it comes to today's players. O.K., maybe a little different, at least their players aren't asking to be the highest paid at their position when they are at or near the bottom of the list of rankings at thier positions. -
I'd rather have Edwards than Cutler
billsfreak replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edwards didn't beat Cutler, the Bills beat the Broncos. Spefically, the Bills pathetic offense wasn't as bad as the Broncos even more pathetic defense. At this point, there is absolutely no question who is the better quarterback, Cutler is by far. I am not so sure I wouldn't rather have Edwards also, but that is based solely on hope and possible development. -
It would be nice if the Bills thought about winning "Now" vice "The Future" since the future never really gets here. I don't think they would sign Taylor unless it was for a cheap contract, they already have millions invested in DE now.
-
I don't believe that Lynch's punishment will be based on who the Bills draft in any shape or form. So if they draft a player with good character, maybe he won't get suspended?
-
Ask a quarterback while they are in a hot tub on monday morning if Sacks Allowed is a "stupid" stat. Not too many of them will agree with you. They might only have themselves to thank too, if they get rid of him.

I don't think it matters whether you are a cheapskate owner or an owner that throws money around like candy (Daniel Snyder), no owner should or probably would pay a LT as the highest in the NFL when he is coming off probably the worst season of any LT in the NFL. The bottom line is, it just isn't smart business now matter who you are. I don't have a problem in giving Peters a raise, but giving him what he is asking for would be ridiculous.
