  1. Can't hurt to bring him in...if he's good enough, he'll start, if not, he won't. He only has one year of eligibility left, but if Notre Dame offered him a scholarship to be their QB four years ago, you know he's got some talent.
  2. Which Trent can only do if he has time to throw to them....it all comes back to the OL. IMO, the OL will make or break this season.
  3. His comments on the addition of T.O. also got me pumped: At the very end of the session, Jackson was asked about the addition of Terrell Owens to the Bills’ offense, and his answer is brief, but telling. Jackson sheds some light on what those inside the Bills locker room may feel about their new teammate. “Nobody is happier than I am about T.O. being here,” Jackson said. “It’s going to take a lot of pressure off of the running game. Safeties aren’t going to be able to stand in the box like they were. To combine him with Lee (Evans) is just going to do some tremendous things for our offense. I know, and I talked to Marshawn, he’s just as excited as I am, we’re happy about and we’re looking forward to playing with him.” http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/05/13/jackson-am...-play-with-t-o/
  4. I agree that ticket prices could, and perhaps should, be increased somewhat...but not to the level that they are selling on Stubhub. It's all supply and demand, and at Stubhub, there's a limited supply, so they can get higher prices. If all the seats were to be priced at that level, the Bills would not have a single sellout all season (a lesson they learned in Toronto). The advantage to keeping prices low is that it keeps it affordable for families (I love taking my son to games!), and it allows most games to sellout, so we can all watch on TV when we're not at the game.

  6. ?? Where did you hear that? And how can it be a contract extension if he was not under contract at the time?
  7. I can't see them signing Rhodes strictly because OBD is afraid of another Lynch suspension. If they truly feared this and thought that he was that bad of an egg, they'd be looking for a permanent replacement and planning on dumping/trading Lynch. Rhodes is only a stopgap, bit player - useful for various other reasons, but not a key cog in the event that Lynch is gone for the season. Speaking of Lynch's suspension - what ever happened to the appeal? I was expecting an appeal to be filed, and hopefully have the suspension dropped to a game or two, the way the commish did with Brandon Marshall last year. Anyone know anything on this?
  8. I'll be curious to see what the contract value and length is.....I hope it's at least 4 or 5 years, so we do not have to go through this again. Freddy is worth more than $460K, and he may have been willing to sign a nice long deal to get a bump in pay this year.
  9. If anybody cares, he has now changed his mind and has decided to stick with his second agent....yeah, Cincinnati seems like a good fit for this guy already!
  10. Funny - the last girl that went home with you said the same thing....
  11. Exactly - When it's 2:00 am and the bar is closing, if you are still holding out for a "10", you will end up at home alone. This late in the game, I'll take the solid "7" anyday. It's not like there's a half dozen pro-bowl free agent LB's just waiting for someone to call....if an above-average LB falls in your lap that is talented, an improvement over what you have now, and is a good fit for your defensive scheme, you grab him. No-brainer.
  12. Although I was no fan of Royal, KC's article only applied to the 15 times that Royal was thrown to when he was lined up out wide. That's less than one play per game! I don't think that you can judge Royal solely by this, as pass-catching was never Royal's strength, but it does show our great need for a good pass-catching TE. Nelson should be great in this role!
  13. Latest update, per Rotoworld: Free agent OLB/DE Travis LaBoy is scheduled to undergo season-threatening ankle surgery later this month. According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, "the ankle injury appears to be the major reason the Cardinals released LaBoy two weeks ago." He's not likely to sign on with a new team until he's almost finished rehabbing. Source: Arizona Republic I think I'd much rather have a Rams castoff than a Cards castoff....
  14. I care - thanks for sharing the info.....it's the off-season, not much else happening, so why not? It's certainly better than another Jason Peters thread!
  15. Yeah, but Fletcher did the same thing (led team in tackles) - the problem was, it was always 5-10 yards down the field. The item that amazed me was that it looks like the Rams are replacing him with a LB signed off someone else's practice squad? Or is that just a backup? Something just doesn't add up...
  16. You guys are unreal.....Marshawn flashes his skill, and everybody tries to downplay it because it's "only the probowl". Did it escape you that all of the other probowl RB's were also running against the same linemen, and Marshawn outrushed them all? On only six rushes, and if I remember right, one or two of those were short-yardage plunges on 3rd and short/4th and short. Come on, give a little credit where credit is due....
  17. Not to mention that our McCorners are as good as they come in the return game....I think Leodis was just scratching the surface last year, still learning our return scheme....he could be scary good this year!
  18. Uh-oh - looks like the Pats may be interested (per Rotoworld): The Boston Globe suggests the Patriots could be interested in recently released LB Pisa Tinoisamoa. Pisa may be a bit undersized for Bill Belichick's scheme, but the team could use another inside linebacker after losing third-rounder Tyrone McKenzie to a season-ending knee injury. Source: Boston Globe Which means that he'll likely sign with the dark side even if our offer is twice that of theirs....
  19. Wow - does seem like a great fit....hope they are awake at OBD. Anyone have Brandon's cell phone number? It took Edwards to text him for T.O. - maybe Whitner can text him for this guy!
  20. Just what I was thinking....sometimes things happen for a reason, and I'd like to believe this was one of them!
  21. ?? We're not communicating here. We can debate the other positions (your other points are valid), but Peters play this year has nothing to do with it! The question is "will this year's line be better"? Last year is history, and Peters is not on this years line, so I frankly don't care if he pancakes the entire DL on every play and is voted league MVP - it has no impact on the Bills line of this year, and it's comparison to our pitiful OL of last year.
  22. The point is not to debate Peters worth/skill (that's been done to death a million times now) - the point is to predict how this year's OL will be different from last years OL. Peters sucked last year, and this years OL should be much better than last years. Period.
  23. There is a reason that Marshawn was the leading rusher in the Pro Bowl last year (on only 6 carries, no less) - he was playing behind a pro bowl OL that was evenly matched against a pro bowl DL. When in Buffalo, he was behind a poor OL that was consistently dominated by the DL's they played each week (not to mention seeing many 8-man fronts). Marshawn doesn't need his OL to be dominant - he just needs them to be average to give him a fighting chance. This is part of what encourages me about this year - the interior of the line will be raw but talented, and should be at least average this year (with potential to be dominant in the coming years). And while our tackles are not elite, they are experienced NFL professionals who should also be at least adequate. Add in T.O. and the reduction in 8-man fronts, and the Bills running game should be vastly improved.
  24. I greatly respect Favre as a man - how can you not love a guy who goes hunting and fishing in his off-time, instead of carrying guns into night clubs? And his intensity and love of the game are second to none - most of us lose that "love of the game" as we get older, and it becomes all business, but Favre still has a lot of boy left in him. In spite of that (and maybe in part because of these things?), Favre never rose to the "best of the best" level, but he was certainly above average, and a whole lotta fun to watch. And, to throw my two cents in, I agree he was better than Aikman, who I never thought of as anything but an average QB with a great supporting cast. Favre never had that level of a supporting cast, but I believe that it would be close if he were to come back with the Vikings (better D, at least as good of a running game, maybe a notch down on the skill receivers).
  25. I think that DE play has a lot to do with the DT play - if we get some production from our DE's, this will help take some load off the DT's and make them that much better. Schobel's health is critical.
