  1. NY was a better coached team. So the Giants were the better team, because the coach is part of the team. And the Bills had no shot in the three subsequent SB either. I love the Bills and loved the SB era but we got what we deserved in every game.
  2. If you still think Losman can play football at a pro level successfully, will you please make that your tag line(or whatever it is called). So i know to skip over whatever it is you have to say about football.
  3. I think you hit the nail on the head. Simpson has been underachieving from day one. I know some of it had to due to injury. His latest brush with the law, and his injuries/lack of production, make him very expendable. Plus Byrd will be a starter from day one. Barring an injury.
  4. And is Marv still with the Bills?? But i guess if we can get a hold of Doc and Marty, maybe they will let us borrow the Delorian and take it out for a spin. Then we could just go back and fix all these mistakes. But then what would guys like you have to do all day?
  5. I thought so. But sometimes you never know on here.
  6. If you are going to start playing that game, then you better get out a piece of paper. How many guys passed on Brady????
  7. First of all what are you basing that on? Did you watch Losman play at all last year. In the Miami game and the Jets game he was horrible. Could argue he single handedly lost those games. I mean here was a guy that was playing for a contract and he had the biggest 'dear in the headlights' reaction i have ever seen. He was completely terrible. If it came out in 10 -15 years from now that he purpousely lost the Jets game i would not be surprised. I am sorry i will take my chances with the grass on the otherside, in this instance. Oh yeah and like another poster said. Every team for the most part is in the same boat. There usually is a reason a guy is a back up.
  8. I love it. You are right on. There are a few people here that love to live in the past. Not go forward. Fact is they got the 8th best ranked DT (according to the Sporting News) for a 3rd and a 5th. Now That is better then a 1st right???? Maybe you could look at it that way. But no, lets call the Bills F.O morons. Because you sitting in your cubicle could do a better job then them. RIGHHHHHHHHHHTTTT.
  9. Exactly. A voice of reason. I will go one further, his agent also was involved. To me this sounds like a guy being realistic and thankful. Realistic- He is in his lates 20's playing RB. He would turn 32 by the time this contract is up. Thankful- The Bills saw enough in him to bring him over form the Arena League. Oh and stop feeling sorry for the guy. He is going to make 7.5 million, if he plays out the whole deal. How many families in Buffalo would it take to equal that number.
  10. Well then i guess FJ or his agent dont know what they are worth either. Jackson is a back up running back that is 28 y/o. Those are facts. He has shown glimpses of being a good player. But he has never done it week in and week out at a high level. If/when he does that then maybe i will get on board with you. But for now, this sounds fair. Maybe a little bit on the plus side for the Bills. But i am a Bills fan first and FJ fan second. So i like the deal a lot. And wont cry for a guy makeing possibly $7.5mil.
  11. So let me get this right. When the Bills work a fair and maybe even a good deal for themselves, some of you guys give them crap???? You are right they could have let him play out his last two years. And maybe he gets hurt one of those seasons, and then never gets another nickle playing. Ever think of that??? Sorry but i really wonder why some of you guys call yourselfs 'fans'. If all you are ever going to do is tear down what the Bills do. This board is for fans. For people who like the Bills. And yes it is a good place to vent when we feel the Bills screwed up. But they did not in this case. Lets not forget that Jackson was playing in arena football, when the Bills came calling. I think over there you make $25,000. I bet if we asked our friends who watch football(but are not Bills fans), who Fred Jackson was on the Bills. Most of them would not be able to tell you. His numbers have been nice numbers so far. And if he continues to put up good numbers then the Bills will keep him for the life of that deal. But for people who think he is worth more, i ask you why? Because he has spelled Lynch in some games? O.K. But he is also in his late 20s. That is getting old in RB years. When the Bills now have that extra $500k-$1mil to get another good player, i bet you will not complain then. Jeez.
  12. I wonder how you get plaster out of your...eh nevermind, no i dont.
  13. Just remember last year everyone thought the oline was going to be the strength of the Bills. And Peters was one of the best tackles in the game. And we all saw how well that worked out for the Bills. I would not put too much stock into it. Let the season develope.
  14. Free agency has changed things. But the Bills have always signed guys back that are quality players on and off the field. Jackson is another example. Now Buffalo will not over pay for talent. Greer case in point, Winfield, Clements, and Jennings all come to mind right now. These guys were all good players but not worth what they got paid.
  15. I am with you, up till last year our nickname for Reed was 'slow girl'. But the light seemed to really come on for him. And the offense really seemed to struggle when he went out. I also think he has turned into one of the leaders for the team. I would prefer to let Parrish go and keep Reed.
  16. Well when they draft a guy in round one at your position, and you are in a contract year, odds are you better start looking for a mover. Didn't they make Greer an offer? I think he just got a better one from somewhere else. Thats the way it works.
  17. Evans, Owens, Reed, Johnson, Parrish, and Hardy. That is really one more wide out then you like to have. But i dont see how you can let any of them go. Owens is here for one season, and will help Johnson and Hardy be able to develope for another season. Next year either Johnson or Hardy take over for Owens as the number two. The only guy that could be expendable is Parrish as he is more a ST then a true wide out. But he is a good ST player and could step into the slot if Reed gets injured.
  18. I think this year he will make the biggest impact of the Bills draft class. A safety is not the easiest position to transition from college to pros, however it is easier then Dline. Olineman never get a lot of media hype. Only Nelson could make a bigger splash maybe. If he was able to come in and become the pass catching big threat the Bills have missed for years, then he will be known around the league by the end of the season. I spoke with a scout who i know in passing about the Bills draft, he stated that Byrd will make an impact this year for Buffalo. The team he works for also drafted a safety later in round two. I got to believe he scouted Byrd.
  19. I guess the Lions have a 'breakout' season if they go 9-7. To me the Texans are the team to watch. They will win the AFC South this year. They have built a very strong defensive front 7. The Offense all rides on Schaubb. I can really see Indy falling off. Jax has all kinds of issues, Ten. wont have the same type of season. Haynesworth being gone is big, and Collins returns to earth.
  20. Has Butler performed since he has been in the league? Yes he has. Other then a few injuries, he has been one of the better Olineman the Bills have had. So because he was drafted in the 6th round he will suck at tackle? When we just got done watching an undrafted guy play LT for the Bills? Right now you can either be optimistic or pessimistic about the up comming season. I choose optimism. Waaaaay more fun.
  21. You are dead on Bill. LT are not the diamond in the rough they were ten years ago. College conditioning a weight programs, now rival the NFL. Teams have a much better idea of how a kid is going to do now. However for somereason it has not trickled over to the defensive side of the line yet. Mostly because of how much more physical the dline position is in the pros then college. Also the speed and length of the NFL season. It is physically more demanding to play Dline then Oline. But you got to be smarter to play Oline (sorry just an old olineman taking a dig at dlineman).
  22. Wow. O.k First of all the Bills have Walker, Butler, Chambers, and Bell. Bell is very much so an unknown, i will give you that. But Walker and Chambers both played LT when Peters sorry butt was out of shape. Walker obviously can play RT, he has done so for two years with Buffalo. Butler played RT in college, is the perfect size, and is very intelligent. So picking up the slide over to outside, would not be a stretch for him. Your remarks, although funny, are the real absurdity. Try thinking a little before posting. It will help with your credibility when you actually have something good to say.
  23. If that is true then a few things: Just because he wants it doesn't mean he will get it. Might explain why the flight to Seattle was called off. He will sit out there for awhile if that is his asking price. Then maybe once some injuries happen the phone will ring. Even then however i can not see any team signing him to a contract that is not very incentive ladden. His health has been a concern for the last two seasons. Now if he stays healthy, starts, plays very good, and his team does well, then he could probably make 7-9 a year. But those are a lot of variables. Either way i am kind of glad. I really dont think the Bills need or want him. They have 4 guys on the roster right now that can play tackle. He would eat up a lot of cash and not sure he is worth it.
  24. Owens helps more or less bridge the gap for Hardy or Johnson to develope. Hopefully one or both of those guys gets some playing time this year and starts to turn into a legit number 2. If this happens, then the Bills shake Owens' hand and say thank you for your services. They give him high recommendation to the rest of the league. But say we have two good young recievers, and Evans and Josh Reed. Plus hopefully Nelson has shown something by that time too. So Owens is a nice guy to have this year to keep the pressure off some of that young talent and help Edwards gain some confidence, and get Evans open more.
