  1. Past hour
  2. How much time would have been afforded if not for the draconian 5% reduction in force? How would that time have been utilized?
  3. OK Augie What would you do? I’ve stated what I would do. It’s a bit of a moral dilemma.
  4. North Carolina had over two days to prepare thanks to a well-tracked hurricane. Texas, on the other hand, had about a day and half notice and just six hours of high-level warning before the worst hit. Timing is everything. Just wait and see how “FEMA” performs after all the staffing and program cuts. And let me guess when it falls apart, you’ll blame Biden, won’t you? But it tries so hard.
  5. You were trying to sell the ridiculous idea that weather warnings are ignored because of false alarms. You slinking away from that now? https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/ar-AA1I1UBl The original forecast that we received Wednesday from the National Weather Service predicted 3-6 inches of rain in the Concho Valley and 4-8 inches in the Hill Country,” said Texas Emergency Management Chief W. Nim Kidd at a press conference Friday. “The amount of rain that fell at this specific location was never in any of those forecasts.”
  6. Waiting for what? ***** him. I can't believe you waste your time arguing with that dip sh it.
  7. They were in a flood watch for over 12 hours. The warnings came out that night. At 5:40 am waters rose over 35 feet over just 90 minutes. Trump cuts did that is legit par for the course disgusting and moronic for the commies. Who in charge at NOAA or wherever is saying DOGE cuts did that? Still waiting on what happened in North Carolina and why President Auto Pen let those 98 people die.
  8. Just listened to a podcast on Medicaid cuts. We’re all going to pay for this. Those without Medicaid will get care in ERs once again. By far the most expensive and least effective way to get care. When hospitals can’t collect on millions of more visits, they’ll charge private insurers more. In turn, they’ll charge businesses more and individuals more. And then the stupid MAGAs might finally get it.
  9. Perhaps you blow it off when your car radio blares from a NWS warning. I sit bolt upright. But then again, you’re an ignorant maga Bs. Asheville is heavily D. No one ignored it. Wouldn’t have mattered which party was over represented when a decent human was president
  10. And that’s the truly sad part - they lack the IQ to realize that once they’ve purged LGTBQ, deported black and brown communities, and stripped women of autonomy, all that’s left is a nation of poor, bitter white people who will be next on the list.
  11. Hey moron - who is saying those 800 “cuts” (probationary positions and early retirements nationwide) directly impacted the work in South Texas this week. Then explain North Carolina and the 98 deaths that occurred under Biden during their flooding last year. And the bang up job FEMA did ignoring the aftermath.
  12. They don’t care. These people are expendable. What they fail to realize is that so are they and their families. Stupid magas
  13. A civil suit does not have to be either a money grab or a pursuit of justice. It’s not a one or the other construct. Wherever someone lies on the continuum, the presence of wealth makes the pursuit more attractive, more reasonable, when evaluating the cost in terms of time, effort and fees. Many civil actions don’t arise in the absence of wealth because of the cost to the injured party to bring suit.
  14. Oh, you want specifics? Great - let's walk through what your guy cut while pretending to care about public safety. Roughly 800-880 positions were eliminated under Trump’s DOGE initiative - many were forecasting roles, including probationary meteorologists being trained to staff local NWS offices. 30+ forecast offices, including major hubs like Houston, were left understaffed - some with no chief meteorologist, no balloon launches, and no functioning radar equipment. NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research got hit with a 74% budget cut - gutting hurricane modeling, storm tracking, and climate risk research. Crucial satellite data access was restricted - directly impacting night-time storm prediction. The NWS itself admitted “degraded forecasting capacity” after these cuts - it’s all public record. You're asking “Where’s the info?” while standing ankle-deep in it. Just because your media bubble didn’t shout it at you doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. And now you know why so many Americans died under Trump 1.0 too - he made critical cuts to our pandemic preparedness, fired experts, and ignored the playbook left for him. Same pattern: gut the systems, ignore the warnings, blame everyone else when disaster hits. So yes lives were lost because of these cuts. You asked. Now you know. You want more info? Do your own research instead of demanding to be spoon-fed like every other MAGA ditz.
  15. I don’t know why this is even a question. The person who was harmed deserves to decide what to do with anything rewarded as a result. That is plain as day to me, and I don’t even see any gray area.
  16. Ask this Anti Trump “journalist” what those people allegedly missing could have done to prevent this You can make the argument that there is overkill with storm watches and warnings has led to too many people just ignoring them. That’s an argument made by the Meteorologist below. *NWS Austin/San Antonio had five on staff during the event; normally two would be on duty. Extra staffing was planned before the event started. *This type of flash flooding on the Guadalupe River is nothing new. Similar events happened in 1998, 1978, 1935, and 1921. This year's event was related to deep moisture from a tropical system (Barry) that originated in the East Pacific and made landfall near Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on June 29. Social scientists will do much research on this in coming months and years. In my opinion one of the primary problems is the high number of false alarms; flash flood warnings that are issued with only minor flooding involved. This is also a problem with tornadoes in many parts of the country. I am very thankful locally NWS Birmingham leads the nation in lowering the false alarm ratio.
  17. C'mon - @Big Blitz is WAITING.
  18. What positions were not filled thus failed in this event? We should know this immediately - that info would be public instantly. “We were down such and such due to positions not being filled.” Where is that info that that is the reason this happened?
  19. lol u know how I get Mike. Im skittish *giggles* and NOT hungover 😄
