Buffalo fans are passionate no doubt, but to a fault as well. "We" as in Bills fans tend to be blindly loyal and line up like sheep for our yearly dissapointing ritual without asking for accountability (aka not filling seats). To this point, ask yourself this...if Buffalo had say the climate of San Diego and a ton of entertainment options (beach, hiking, boating, desert off roading, you get the point) and the team continually fielded a crap product, would games sell out? My guess is the ralph would have been half full a long time into the "Decade of Fail"....

Good point. I lived in san Diego, and its true there are alot more things out there to do. San Diego does not sell out their games.

Good point. I think in general, folks down here are just not as passionate about pro football as other parts of the country. North Carolina in particular is crazy about college sports, especially basketball. Oh yeah, and Nascar is way bigger than the NFL, but I have no clue why. My buddy tried to explain it and I still don't get it.

They take the day off when the ACC tourney is playing. That I don't get at all!

When I went down to visit my friend he took me to NASCAR. It was right over the tenn border, I think it was Bristal. Small track. The tailgate was certainly impressive but it was the most boring sporting event I have ever attended. & that is saying something since I was at the Browns/Bills game just a few weeks ago.

As a transplanted Buffalonian, I have to say that I think the lack of fanaticism about professional sports in Charlotte is refreshing. If the team is entertaining, the fans follow along and support them. If they stink it up, they do not. That goes for pro football and basketball. Professional sports are a form of entertainment. If they are not entertaining, then people move on.

They are a little crazy about college basketball down here, which is too bad, but it's no where near as bad as people are about sports up north. FYI, the number one sport in the south both in terms of participation and viewership is golf. I think it's the weather...

Ah yes, the old tired arguement there is nothing to do in Buffalo so that is why they are so passionate about the Bills. Been to Charlotte many times, have a friend that lives there, I think the city is boring & it sucks. Except for the year round golf you get to play down there I would much rather live in WNY.

I'll have to disagree with you there. I lived in Western New York for almost 20 years. I moved South of Charlotte two years ago. There is no comparison betwen Western New York and the Charlotte area. Besides the Falls and Pro Hockey there is nothing to do in WNY. Here you have the beach on one side of Charlotte and the Mountains the other side. Charlotte has a great night life and a lot of cultural venues. Oh yeah and the year round golf isn't bad either.

The biggest difference is we hardly ever have those nasty cloudy gray skies. Usually you can count on bright sun filled days. Weather is great except for when it gets cold (below 70). People also seem to be happier here. Not as mean and harsh as back in WNY.

I thought I'd miss WNY when I left. Buffalo will always be home but the two best thing about WNY is the food (wings and Garbage plates), and the fact that I get to leave and get back to the Charlotte area.

Also so many people in Charlotte are from other cities. Besides a ton of Bills fans there are even more Steeler fans. Giants and Cowboys also have a strong presence.

Before the Panthers the city was for the Redskins.

Glad you got to see a win.

Wilson probably gets my mid-season vot for most improved. Last year he was a liability on defense, not this year.

Byrd has a knack, doesn't he?

I don't understand Lynch getting 17 carries to Jackson's 5. But, I'm not the coach.

how about the fact that he went 2 yards on 5 attempts. that equals .4 yards a carry. lets give all 4 downs to fj. he would total that grand total of 1.6 yards. yipeeeee!!!! not even 2 yards.... hip hip hoorrrrayyyy. i'm no coach either. but this time dick got it right!

How about the high humidity from may to sept. Do like that when its 98 and you have cut your lawn at 8:00pm.

What are They?

you could go golfing(I went golfing sunday morning before the game), you could for a hike, you go to the casino, you could go to the art galleries, you could go site seeing at the falls. Besides going to the beach this time of year, what can you do in San Diego that you can not do here? I am not trying to be a wiseguy I am really interested.

Used to live in Buffalo - now live in Raleigh. Each have their ups and downs and neither is perfect. When I bleed it's snow, taxes, Bills and Sabres. Never will I root for the Canes, Panthers or Bobcats. That being said I love it here. I've not once been downsized out of a job. (3x in last 2 years in Buffalo) My electric bills (no gas) even at the peak of summer don't come anywhere near the gas bills I was paying in a house 3/4 the size in Buffalo. Houses cost more but the property tax is lower. (I'd rather pay for a house than a politician) Politics down here in Carolina are just as corrupt as they are up there. Our former Governor will probably be in jail within the next year. A top legislator and several others are already there keeping the soap wet so to speak. Down here you will not find anything that resembles the fine heritage celebrations that occur sprinkled through out the year. They wouldn't know a Dingus from their St. Patrick amongst others

Walking out of the stadium Sunday was awesome. Buffalo fans were so loud and high fiving each other on the way out you would have thought we'd won the freakin Superbowl. The folks on talk radio are absolutely beside themselves. How could you lose the f****** Bills. Fox must go!!!

Anyway, you folks should worry less about which place is better and celebrate the victory that we share with the team we love. We're not likely to have too many to cheer about.

And it's almost hunting season also.

When the snow falls, you can go skiing (downhill & crosscountry), walking in the woods, snowmobileing, sledding, ice skateing, play hockey, go to your faviorate bar when the Bills are away & watch them on TV with other Bills fans while eating the BEST bar food in the COUNTRY.

Walking out of the stadium really was AWESOME!!!! It was the FIRST BILLS game I had attended. I tagged along with the FAMOUS AUSSIEW to get my first REAL taste of BILLS NATION. What a TASTE..... I felt like one of those Yankee and Red Sox fans who always travel to see their team play the Texas Rangers. They TOO have a FAMOUS chant!!!!! Just one thing.....you guys have got to come up with a chant that you use AFTER you win the game!!!

You can do everything you mentioned. The biggest thing is you can do it all year. It never rain's there for outside activities.
