He was terrible today and was directly responsible for three of the six sacks. Agree with other posters that Walker should never have been waived. Not only was it boneheaded to think they could flip Walker, but then they cut him when it doesn't work out. There is no excuse for not keeping him, other than money, even with Butler slated to start. You can't know what injuries will occur, but keeping him as backup to Butler made sense then, and it makes sense now. And in fairness, as obvious as it is that Langston Walker would be an upgrade over Kris Chambers at Right Tackle tomorrow - Langston Walker is also currently out-of-the-NFL.... Maybe the reason he cut the player to save money was because it could help keeping the team out of the red? Last time I saw solid numbers, their annual profit is in the neighborhood of $30 million. The TV contract pretty much covers the amount you need to pay the player salaries. I've seen it in print by several NFL writers that they think Walker was very overweight coming into camp. I really don't understand the love-fest for him right no. Ralph does things I don't like, but he has shown that if the team can make the playoffs and is showing real promise, he will spend. He seems to leave it up to the front office/ coaches to get the team together enough to earn his full support. The problem is, none of the staffs have gotten them good enough to really compete. The problem is, none of the staffs have gotten them good enough to really compete. maybe if they had 2 NFL quality OTs, they could compete. but the Bills thinking is all backwards, as usual seems that waiting for NFL castoffs, re-treads and rookies to make you competitive with an inept coaching staff pretty much ensures you won't be spending for the playoff push any time soon.
