Back when the Bills traded Peters and announced that Walker would fill the void all of the analysts were bashing the Bills for not addressing their need at LT since Walker would not be a good fit at LT.

Why the heck would the Bills waste the entire off season running Walker with the 1's if they were so confident that Bell would fill in for Peters? Even if Bell ends up doing great it just seams to me like this was an absolute waste of time. They should have known better than anyone that a 360lb underachiever is not going to cut it at the most important position on the line.

Which leads to my next question... How the heck does John Guy still have a job?? The only decent recent free agent pickup (TO) was because of Edwards and Ralph. Had absolutely nothing to do with that clown. Every other key position on this team has been filled through the draft.

Langston was not cut because he couldn't play LT. He was cut because there is someone else on the team that they believe can play the position better, and they're not going to have a $5 million dollar player eating oreos on the bench. People equate Langston being cut with the fact that he can't play LT.

The point is that everyone and their mother knew the guy was too big and did not have the athletic skills required to play LT in this league except for the Bills.

Too bad they didn't do it over the off season so they could have used the OTAs, mini-camps, training camp, and preseason to build cohesion. You know, like real NFL teams do.

It's a total joke that this team has fired its OC and LT less than a week before the first NFL game of the season.

I have no idea. Guy signed TKO, Adams and a few other decent players. But there is scant little evidence that Guy ever unearths the proverbial diamond in the rough a la Bryce Paup.

It really makes one wonder what is going on @ One Bills Drive.

Rumor is DJ could be gone by week 5. Ralph Wilson JR is just about ready to pull the plug according to Mort on ESPN tonight.

Maybe you would be right if Brad Butledr was a better RT than Walker.

I wouldn't call Paup a diamond in the rough, he was the marquee FA when Bills signed him. The diamond in the rough was John Davis who filled a gaping hole along the OL in '89, and that guy Tasker a few years before.

But the main point is, I guess, yes I remember the days when marquee FAs chose to play in Buffalo.

Well, they either believe that Butler is a better, or atleast just as good of a RT then Walker would be. Walker didn't want to play LT, thats a fact. He prefered playing RT because he felt he was better there.

Everyone wanted the superstar Bell to play LT anyways, now he gets to. Why is everyone so cranky now? Did they really think with Walker at LT, or even RT that the Bills were that much better of a team, or where they better with Turk callinig plays? The starting offence couldn't even score a TD in the preseason, that right there deserves big changes. Better now to atleast give them a bit more of a chance this season, or atleast gives some younger guys more time and experience

Maybe the fans would give this staff some benefit of doubt if they had a proven track record of stellar results in talent evaluation.

I agree with you.

Except that Bell was taking an increasing number of snaps with the first team and that probably would have continued if not for his back injury.

But other than that, you're completely right.

Why wait until week 5? We have just as good of a chance, assuming there is a chance at all, to win next week at NE with anybody in the group of idiots running the team as a coach as we do with DJ.

You're right, why is everyone cranky? The only one who is really going to be hurt by this move is Trent Edwards; over and over again.
