Sometimes, because, the team has a certain amount of loyalty to established players are a little slow to make the changes we as fans know are inevitable. I know it seems a little screwy because you wouldn't think fans know more than coaches, but it happens over and over again. A player is ineffective, fans see it but the team is in denial. My definition of an established player may be different from yours, MDH. If a guy has been starting for a year, regardless of how bad he is, he is established in my book.
