Maybin in tears

Recommended Posts

Every person who views football for the business that it is, understands why Maybin is doing this. I'm in no way a proponent of the NFL and how overly commercial it is. But, this issue cannot be understood until you accept the fact that it is a business and this is how it goes.

It's just the way number 1s work in the NFL these days. You draft 'em high. They sit out. You hand them a big pile of cash after the guy ahead and behind him signs. Of course he's ahead of one guy who's waiting for him and behind another (Crabtree) he's waiting until signs. It is a really stupid system. Goodell is making a lot changes. Changing something here so these guys can get in and actually be productive and earn their money would be nice for us fans who are ultimately paying these huge salaries. That is unless of course you watch all the games on TV and buy your jerseys from China! :w00t:

Of course it's also stupid that a guy that has never played a down in the NFL is able to command money way higher than a lot of guys who have been in the NFL for years producing.

But, that's just the way it is.

But, yeah, I wish he'd stop crying and get his you-know-what in camp.

It does seem ridiculous for the rookies to get paid more than a lot of vets for having done absolutely nothing as a pro.

However the union seems to be starting to get behind a rookie wage scale lately. That is a good sign that something along those lines will be implemented in the near future. Hopefully this is one of the last seasons we as fans have to deal with this nonsense.

It's not just the money he will make over 5-6 years of his first contract, its the guaranteed money. This kid came out this particular year after having played only one year as a starter because he wanted to get paid!

He has the ability to TELL his agent to get it done and get him signed and get him into camp. The longer he stays away the less he will learn for this season, which means the less valuable he will be to the team this season.

Right.

He can't take the #6 and #16 numbers and figure something out? #7 and #15? #8 and #14? #9 and #13? He absolutely needs #10?

Maybe he's like JAIrus Byrd and hates to practice.

We're talking about practice man. Practice. Not a game. Practice.

come on..the guy wasn't a math major.

If Maybin's agent is so helpless without Crabtree, why wasn't Moreno's agent at #12 helpless without Maybin? It's a stupid game that the Maybin camp is playing... It's great that Maybin is a man of faith who wants to win, burns to compete, and yearns to dominate.....sounds a lot like the unsubstantiated crap that comes out of Whitner's mouth as well.

Spare me the drama queen stuff and get into camp. If he really wants to play put some pressure on your agent to get it done. Ask Eric Wood.

"Crying? There is no crying in football! Stop being a freaking pansy!"
