Democrat's Health plan flowchart

And touting that our politicians (the grand thinkers they are) wanted your expertise helps prove which point? Yours or mine?

Who asked for your expertise?

The reason that anyone asks for my opinion is: I am in the thinking business. So, yeah, by definition it's my job to do the thinking for them....and when I'm not a complete idiot I usually do the thinking pretty well(batting about .800). And please, there are just as many "grand thinkers" in corporate America is there are politicians. There are dumb and smart in both groups, and whole lot of mediocre, "pile on" people. Worse, there are those that want to do the best work they can, and those that have a jackass agenda in both groups....so you really don't have a point here...once again.

Yeah, the MSM has been all over that story from yesterday.

Oh, wait. No they haven't.

Are you now being a dick just to be a dick?

Do you even watch or read the main stream media before making that statement? It's not even a big story but it's been all over the MSM. I watched MSNBC for three hours this morning and it was their main political story and they talked about it over and over and over, bringing it up with each guest. It was on the front page of the Washington Post. I just looked at abcnews.com and its their first political story. It's the lead story on cnn.com's politics page.

Don't let your facts interfere with an otherwise gratifying rant.

I stand corrected. MSNBC reported on it this morning, and the Washington Post had it on the front page today. Next time something happens on a Thursday, I'll be sure to watch the news on Friday to find out about it.

It was on MSNBC yesterday, too. Chris Matthews was saying how bad it was for Democrats, the only show I watched. I was just reading the CBO guy's quotes and was linked to Time.com which had a story on it at 5 pm yesterday.

Do you want newspapers to start printing their papers and delivering them on the day news happens? Of course you're going to see it the next day. :wallbash:

You shouldnt even be mentioning Elmendorf anyway. What he thinks Congress should do to pay for health care is to raise taxes and tax employer benefits.

Did anyone catch Obama's speech today?

"It must be passed because if healthcare overhaul isn't done, everyone's health coverage is at risk"

sound familiar?

how many times have we heard from politicians

If we don't pass _______, then _________ will happen.

So which part of this do you dispute?

If we don't achieve health care reform, we cannot control the costs of Medicare and Medicaid and we cannot control our long-term debt and our long-term deficits. That's not in dispute. So we're going to have to get this done.

If we don't get health care reform done now, then no one's health insurance is going to be secure, because you're going to continue to see premiums going up at astronomical rates, out-of-pocket costs going up at astronomical rates, and people who lose their jobs or have a preexisting medical condition or changing their jobs finding themselves in a situation where they cannot get health care.

This may surprise you, but I'm not one of the eight people who still watches Tingles. News happens immediately, and it's reportedly immediately, and the time I spent online last night did not turn up anything from the major news agencies, such as they are.

It was one of the main stories on ABC News last night and they actually showed the footage of the CBO guy saying it (as well as on CBS news tonight)

You said "main stream media". You may not know this but the main stream media usually consists of the four major networks (which I listed all except FOX which doesnt have news except sunday), the three major cable news networks (which I listed except for FOX which I am sure carried the story because I saw the link), the major newspapers like the NYT and Washington Post and Wall Street Journal (which I listed), the major news mags (which I listed) and the major news services like google news, AP, UPI, Reuters, etc. which provide stories to pretty much all of the websites. What else is there in the "main stream media" besides conservative talk radio which I guarantee covered it?

Face it, you were full of schit and just spouting off, without knowing what you were talking about, which has recently, unfortunately, been a trend.

Maybe if you got your news from multiple sources you'd be better informed

No offense intended, but you really should try to get information from as many sources as possible

Haven't you heard? The major networks, cable news channels, major newspapers, major news magazines, and major news agencies are no longer the "main stream media".

I must have missed that memo. But stupid me guessing that since the major networks, cable news channels, major newspapers, and major news magazines, are all owned by NewsCorp, GE, Disney, Viacom, AOLTimeWarner which get their news from the major news agencies.

Maybe Rush Limbaugh is the MSM now. After all that's what you guys quote these days
