Mock Drafts Thread - I think there should only be one thread on these.

Recommended Posts

It just seems like every draft year the board gets flooded with people posting mocks. It's fun to do but IMO, the board shouldn't get over run with new posts about mocks. My suggestion is to post your mocks here for criticism.

If the mods don't like this idea then they can delete this thread. Just sayin.

Here's my first. Subject to change after anymore roster moves prior to the draft.

Round 1, Pick 11 (11) Brandon Pettigrew (TE) (6'6" 257),

Round 1 Pick 28 (28) Eben Britton, (OT) ( 6'6" 310),

Round 2, Pick 10 (42), Cody Brown (OLB) (6'2" 242),

Round 3, Pick 11 (75) Connor Barwin (DE) 6'3" 253),

Round 4, Pick 10 (110) Antoine Caldwell (C/G) (6'3" 309),

Round 4 pick (121) Kyle Moore (DE) (6'4" 265),

Round 5 Pick 11 (147) Domonique Johnson (CB) (6'1" 197),

Round 6, Pick 10 (183) Jose Martinez (K),

Round 7, Pick 11 (220) Clinton McDonald (DT) 6'2" 289)

Good draft, but I don't think there is any way Connor Barwin falls down to the 75th overall pick.

No chance at Barwin in the 3rd

Assuming we don't move in the draft:

1a. B.J. Raji DT

1b. Larry English DE

2. Brian Cushing OLB

3. Chase Coffman TE

4a. Antoine Caldwell C/G

4b. Cecil Newton C

5. Zack Follet LB

6. Orion Martin DE

7. Tony Fiametta FB

So in other words you wanted to post your mock, and not have any others around it?

This time of year is for mocks and ridiculous speculation. That's all there is.

PUNCH!!

You don't have a single OT on your draft board. I believe that with the loss of Peters the second pick will be an OT. I also believe that because the LT will need help on blitz pickups a TE is high on the list of needs. Pettigrew can block extremely well and is a good pass catcher. JMO

Given the Falcon/Gonzalez trade, here's my four round special...

1a Robert Ayers, DE Tennessee

1b Brandon Pettigrew, TE Oklahoma State

2 Max Unger, C/G Oregon

3 Tyrone McKenzie, OLB South Florida

4 Kraig Urbik G Wisconsin

Bada bing, that would be one sweet draft!

Would really like this as well. I think this is the first time in the past 4 months that I've liked two mocks in a row that people have put together. This has to be good karma.

I really don't see us taking an OT with either of our #1's. And I can't see us taking one in the 2nd or 3rd because no one in the second is ready to start and we don't need another project considering many believe Bell could be our LT of the future.

I do think Cushing will fall. I'm not sure it will be as far as I projected. But many have said he is very overrated in this draft.

I agree it will be Ayers/Pettigrew in the 1st; with Mack/Unger/Robinson/Levitre at 42, based on whoever is left. LB or LT in the 3rd.

I swear I'm not trying to pick on you, OJ, but seriously?

How could "many" believe that Bell could be the LT of the future? He's never played a down in the NFL. I know, Peters was undrafted and he turned out great, but that doesn't mean that Bell has starter or even backup potential.

If anything, I think the more you hear in the next 48 hours about how much Buffalo likes Bell, the more likely it will be that they draft an OT in round 1. It would be much smarter to get a top flight prospect than to simply expect a guy that nobody else wanted to become a franchise left tackle.

Also, Cushing goes somewhere between pick 11 and pick 21...he's too good to last into the final third of the opening round. In fact, I haven't heard or seen one opinion that states Cushing as overrated.

I will vomit if we take Pettigrew at 11

It would be a serious reach IMO.

Please! Please! Please! Please! re-build the lines first.

OL and DL are far more critical than wasting a top pick on a TE. TE can wait to round 3.

OL, DL and LB are the priorities.

I'm positive that an OT will be taken within the first four picks and most likely at pick #28

Even if Bell is ready to play, and that's a big IF the Bills need quality depth and a guy who can take over RT within a year or two. JMO

The only knock on the guy is his injury history and that's enough for me to hope they don't draft him.
