Curry has made the case to be the top pick, including offering to accept a contract worth less than last year's #1, Jake Long. Given the uncertainty surrounding drafting top QBs, as well as Detroits recent history in that department, its seems 100% possible that the Lions go that route. So, if the Lions go Curry, then I guess we can assume Stl would consider Stafford, butr would probably stick with Smith. KC would probably go Monroe, although they could go D Line as well. Lets run some scenarios:

1 DET - Curry

2 STL - J. Smith

3 KC - Monroe

4 SEA - Stafford / Sanchez? Crabtree? Raji? Lets assume Stafford.

5 CLE - Crabtree? Raji? Orakpo? Lets assume Raji.

6 CIN - Crabtree? Orakpo? A. Smith? Lets assume Smith.

7 OAK - Crabtree is the best WR. I know it, you know it, Al Davis knows it.

8 JAX - ?. Sanchez i guess. Im reading Tyson Jackson has worked his way into top 10 lock so a possibility, as is Orakpo.

9 GB - T. Jackson? Jenkins? E Brown? Orakpo? Hmmm. Lets guess DE. not sure which, but one of em. If not, Jenkins, either way it wont matter for the poll...

10 SF - Oher? Maclin? DE? I personally think they want a WR, so im saying Maclin.

*11* So, here we are. Looks like there are some locks to be gone (Curry, Smith, Monroe, Stafford) and some probables to be gone (Sanchez, Raji, A. Smith, Crabtree).

***SO of the remaining possibles, who's it gonna be, and more importantly, why?***

Personally, looking at the players we are talking about here, it is CLEAR there are a lot of DE's & LBs, so i would say we need to take the OT. With 28, we can wait and see what happens and if DE / LB's thin out, we could make a move to get the last guy there, or grab B Pettigrew. The scariest situation for me is if all 4 OTs are taken in the top 10. We then can take the pick of our DE, but ultimately would get screwed for value there because it seems there isnt much separating any of the top DE prospects. Personally, my ideal situation would be if A. Smith AND Oher fall to SF @ #10, trading #28 and next year's 2nd (plus maybe a late this year) to get #10 and taking both Oher and Smith. OL done once and for all. Worry about DEs with our 2nd, its a really deep class.

The Bills will be looking to take guys who can make an impact from Day 1. Some guys, even in the first, are more projects than others. Even if a guy has more upside, they'll take a guy with less potential who can play from the start.

The Bills need their top 3 guys to be at least part-time starters because they've got too many holes to fill (once again) and not enough picks. They'll go DE, TE, and OL though not necessarily in that order.

I think thats why you try and go OL OL. We clearly have DEs...not great ones, but serviceable ones. Schobel and Kelsay, as a unit, are far better than Chambers and Bell as a LT / LG unit (or whoever you want to shuffle around into the LT / LG). I think that outside TE, OL is the only shurefire guaranteed starting position we are drafting.

People are calling for De left and right. While i also would like an upgrade, you have to admit, with Schobel / Kelsey / Denney we have a lot more than we currently do on the OL.

Yeah--Schobel/Kelsay/Denney... the fearsome threesome.

Man you don't have to back me into a corner...alright I admit it (even if I'm not really believing it).

It's kind of a coin flip though isn't it?

Obviously one of the top 2 tackles if they fall..doubt it.. Top DE Jackson probably be gone, too. I would take Orapko or Cushing if availiable.. too much risk with Smith from Alabama.. there are some tackles the Bills can get later in the 1st round that have some upside.. Orapko or Cushing could start right away and contribute immediately.. I like Cushing the most.. he's a monster.. and has all the intangibles you want from a professional.. He's looking at a long career and would take him before Oher for sure.. Most importantly, I just hope the Bills don't reach with this pick...
