Here's My Fear

Today on Limbaughs show he is now tying Obama to FDR and was playing old FDR fireside chats. Now I am not old enough to remember anything much before DDE but I guess he is now looking to attack the extreme socialism of FDR

That extreme socialism was the slippery slope that led to the nanny state we have today.

I don't think Jimmy Carter was a great president, but his approval rating was no lower than 28%, whereas Mr. George W. Bush is hovering in the low 20s.

I also think that after he leaves office, there will be significant (as yet unknown to the public) evidence and dirty laundry that will show just how damaging his administration was.

Approval ratings?:( You DO remember the results of Carter's effort to get re-elected, no?

ok, let's split hairs. Bush has the record for the lowest approval rating ever recorded by a sitting president, 19% (2/16-19/2008 - during the Iraqi insurgency, and 09/16-19/2008 - after the economy tanked)

He also has the record for highest approval ratings ever

the worst president and administration in modern history

Carter was worse.

And I lived through that. As well as Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush. None of them "took" my country away from me. It's still my country, no matter the bonehead in the White House.

People's failure to realize THAT is why America is so !@#$ed up as it is.

In all fairness, where Carter failed on the economy he more than made up for it with his true strength: foreign policy.

Given the fact that the Democrats got us into this mess, it's only right that they get us out of it.

true

But they won't get us out of it.

They'll spend us into a bigger mess then this banking scandal.

One of their brilliant theories is that we can and will pay for the welfare education and medical costs of anyone and everyone who decides to walk across the border, including every anchor baby they dump on the US taxpayer.

Oh and wait I forgot...we give them a full stake in our social security system too.

Brilliant !!!!!

Come one, come all, we'll take care of you, we'll show you true freedom, a world where the government solves all your problems, in spite of your desires, and without you having to ask. Better here than there, I say!

I had no idea that Jimmy Carter's presidency is not considered a part of modern history. Or maybe "modern history" is defined as "anytime in the past eight years."

Or maybe you just think Jimmy Carter was a great president.

As bad as Carter was GWB is still head and shoulders above him in the history of sh------- presidents.
