OFFICIAL: 3pm is here 2008 Draft Thread

They got a big body, but they didn't get the big body to catch the ball in the middle of the field, bail Edwards out when teams blitz, and keep the safeties from cheating toward the sidelines. Hardy is a sideline receiver. He could be a great weapon like a Plax Burress and a perfect complement to JP Losman's game. Less so for Edwards. Edwards can really work the middle of the field, but the Bills just don't have a reliable target there.

Agreed and I think we're going to see the Bills add a TE in the next round or perhaps in a trade up before today is over. Hardy can help with that somewhat, but ultimately, they're going to have to pick up a receiving TE to fill that role over the middle.

when TO was in Philly he ran a 4.3 and change 40

Moss is one if not the only other WR that is faster then TO, maybe you should watch him play once in awhile

You keep comparing Hardy to two of the best WRs in the past decade. As a #2 wideout taken in the second round, that's pretty good company, IMO.

Andre was listed at 6-2, Lofton 6-3... but neither is the right answer. That would be 6-4 Chris Burkett and Justin Armour. (You did say 20 years, right?)

Sure did. Hardy is going to be a beast. I love this pick.

The Bills needed a massive WR and they got it, according to Jauron.

D. Thomas was too small and we are starting to see Sweed and Kelly had something fishy about them.

how long ago was his combine? is that what we're talking about or are we talking about the player TO is now and has been since he became an elite WR in the NFL...TO is one of the fastest WRs in the league and one of the few that can and has run away from Champ Bailey. When he was in Philly they did a piece on his workouts and he ran a 4.3 and change 40 which has been reported since on many occassions. If you cant see that he is one of the fastest WRs in the league then maybe you should go watch tennis or something

as usual, I see you have your internet tough guy act on

How is that a tough guy? You are hating on Hardy because at 6'5 he ran a 4.42. TO ran a 4.6 at his combine. Boldin was slow, as was Colston. Don't be fooled by numbers.

Exactly. Hardy is going to be awesome. Little work in the weight room but that's it.

I don't think I'm bitter. And yes. Every Div 1 school does whore itself out for money. What I don't understand is why ND believes that it is better than everyone else to get it's own contract, especially when it has not contended for a National Title in many a year?

Two way street. ND doesn't hold a gun to NBC's head and demand a contract. If people stop watching them, NBC will not renew. It has nothing to do with ND' opinion of itself. Some people just can't seem to grip this concept.

Even after an awful 2007 That School will be still ranked in the preseason top 25

 You Penn State folk sure are a whiny bunch...

Did you just imply that a WR has gotten 3 tenths of second fasterin his 40 time AFTER he turned 30?

I think I implied that he is a much better and faster WR now then when he came out of college which is why he wasnt picked until the 3rd round

wasnt it reported that Moss was clocked at sub 4.3 during the draft last year when the trade went down...Im sure his combine 40 wasnt 4.3 or below

if you've ever seen the piece on TO and what he went through you would understand why he might not have been in his best physical condition when he came out of college

We'll draft Martellus Bennett and he'll be a better pro TE than Fred Davis

The good news is that we're more than halfway through R2 and there are still four good TE prospects still on the board: Bennett, Finley, Rucker and Kellen Davis. The Bills stand a good chance at getting one of them.

Moss blazed at his combine. So did Joey Galloway and Terry Glenn. Those are 3 of the fastest combine times I can recall for WRs. Galloway and Glenn both benched over 400 pounds too
