I sorted the list out by overal grade . It was obtained from sportingnews.com The overall ranking is the # to the left . The overall grade is the last # to the right . Kinda wonder why Mike Flanagan grades out at 8.0 but is ranked 77 , while LeCharles Bently grades out 7.5 but is ranked 11. If we get Sherman do you think he could influence M.Flanagan to come to Buffalo ?

Oooooo, I just saw that Kevin Shaffer's name is on that list! If he makes it to free agency, he's a guy I'd love to see come to Buffalo. Very underrated player, not well-known...started the last two seasons as Atlanta's LT, still very young. Would be a great addition.

BGiM's Free Agency Wish List: (No Bentley because every team in the NFL will go after him...we cant compete...I'm trying to be realistic here)

1) Kevin Shaffer, OT from Atlanta

2) Steve Neal, OT/OG from New England

3) Grady Jackson, DT from Green Bay.

Add to this my mock draft underneath and you'd have a very solid offseason. Two new starters on the O-Line (possibly 3 if you count O'Callaghan who I think is going to excel at the NFL level), and a Grady Jackson/Haloti Ngata interior D-Line...Thats a lot of beef!

BGiM...doesn't Grady have chronic problems with both his knees?

The list is for the top 99 players . I guess Josh  Reed and Ryan Denny didnt make it .

I deleted my post before you replied... took another look & those DE's are better than Denney... but I'd take Josh over Tyree.

Started all 16 games this year, couldn't have been TOO bad. You're right though, in the past he has had trouble staying healthy...so I wouldnt be too opposed to getting another DT aside from Jackson...a guy like Lionel Dalton would also suffice.

I'm just saying buyer beware. He could be looking to cash in one last time before calling it a career.

Found this on a football info site(from 2004)...And Jackson is 32 and wearing down with knee problems. Jackson missed five weeks last year with knee problems, and the Packer run D was pretty bad until Jackson returned. But as the season went on, those knees got worse again, and the Packers run defense declined significantly in the last few weeks of the season, as teams began running around the increasingly immobile Jackson:

Overall grade probably is related to youth and/or likelihood to be an impact on a new team vs the value to his current team. As just because a guy s good on currently he might not be as good/might be better elsewhere (see Posey vs Paup).

I think the reason Bentley ranks over Flanagan is he's far younger and his versatility of being able to play both OC and OG make him more valuable. Though for what it's worth they rank Teague a 7.3 and Bentley a 7.5, the question is going up .20 worth it in terms of cap space? As it likely cost far more adding Bentley than retaining Teague or are we better off pooling those money at a DT or keeping Nate and hoping Preston can step up next year? Such is the life of a GM.

69 Maake Kemoeatu DT 6-5 350 6.9 Unrestricted Baltimore

Put this large mass of human flesh next to Ngata and we have an inexpensive, young fix to a D-Line that could stop the run for years. Don't give me undersized players or 33 year old vets. Kemoeatu is young and experienced, and just what we need.

DT is a very important position in today's NFL, no doubt. And if Kemo is that good as many in here like to think he is, why would the Ravens let a young DT walk?

Assuming we retain Moulds, Clements, and Adams I would like Buffalo to pursue the following.

RB: Chester Taylor: Back up to the often injured Jamal Lewis. His experience starting is what we need if Willis goes down. He combines very good agility and balance with some solid hands out of the backfield.

WR: Kennan McCardell: I don't care that he's going to be 36 next year; he's still producing and wouldn't be expensive. If we can retain Moulds our WR's would look like this Moulds, Evans, McCardell/Parish, Reed.

C: Mike Flanagan: If Sherman is our coach I expect Flanagan to follow him. Sherman was most noted for his ability to mold the offensive lines, and we also know his players loved him. With Teague being a FA we will probably be in his market for a C, so expect this to go down if Sherman comes aboard.

G: Stephen Neal or Terrance Metcalf: Either would bring a big upgrade over Bennie, and could be our first competent LG since Ruben Brown.

T: Kevin Shaffer: Schaffer would be an excellent addition, both upgrading the starting talent and depth. Gandy would be a fantastic back up at G and T, and a guy like Schaffer could provide us with that luxury.

DT: Maake Kemoeatu: Massive 350 pound run stuffer who started every game this year at DT for Baltimore. He could be a Ted Washington type late bloomer and also provides an alternative to the older often injured Jackson.

FS: Will Demps: Vincent has not made the switch to safety very effectively and he isn't getting any younger. Demps isn't going to make a ton of picks, but he's fundamentally sound, and would provide the safeties some much needed youth.

The problem with getting Chester Taylor, is I'm pretty sure he wants to go somewhere where he'll lave a legit shot at being a fulltime starter.. besides, who is to say the Ravens won't let Jamal walk and keep Taylor. I know *I* would consider it if I were Baltimore. It's a nice idea, though.. I really think Willis needs to be pushed by some real competition.
