Why is Fletcher returning kickoffs??

Either he needs to be chewed out and told that he is out there to block, not to run the ball or that is one of the most idiotic return schemes I have ever seen. Please tell me that Bobby April is not in the same class as Ronnie Jones & Danny Smith.

Where is Bruce Dehaven when you need him???

he was a blocker. but they kicked it so short, he ended up with it.

putting our most important player on Defense on ST, is probubly the dumbest thing ive see all year.

bu then again, we would of had great returns if it wasnt for a few block in the back flags.

The second kickoff was to the Buffalo 4 yard line! Did he feel after the first one, that he was the primary return man?

I believe he is usually set up as the 2nd return guy. He's primarily back there due to his apparent excellent lead blocking capability.

The idea is that (like last year w/ Brown) the primary return man gets the ball except for maybe 20% of the field. It just so happens that the were able to kick it accurately to that area (although on one of those kicks, McGee was in position to take it but Fletch took it anyway).

For that matter, he seemed to do a pretty good job on his 2 returns.

If the return team is setup so that London Fletcher is the "2nd return guy", Bobby April should be fired today. Please go back in the history of the NFL and find me another example of when a MLB was used in this capacity! I don't care if they want to use him as the first guy behind the wedge, but returning kicks?

Give me a break!

There's a 1st time for everything. What about when they 1st started to go w/ only 1 RB, opting instead for a 3rd WR or TE. Only using 3 DL. I could go on. The game evolves.

Off the top of my head, I recall us using Jamie Mueller, a FB. Basically the same principle.

For that matter, does it really matter where he lines up? I'm assuming the design is for him to be the escort. Last year we had Brown take like 90% of the returns. Presumably, we just used 2 'wings' back there. This year, we only have 1. It only makes sense that he's therefore responislbe for covering more ground.

Of all the screw-ups we've seen it the 1st 2 games, having someone who appears to be doing a good job in position to makes plays certainly is well down the list of things that need improvement.

Fletcher is back their because, as April has stated, Fletcher has an uncanny knack for providing a perfectly timed and highly skilled initial block on returns. He supposedly is VERY GOOD at it. If it hadn't been for the holding penalty, it seems as though it would have worked quite well on at least one occasion.

Fletcher will learn in time to let McGee have all but the really short kicks. And if a team wants to kick short, then we should have very good field position because he is actually pretty darn good at returning as demonstrated by his solid average on Sunday.
