Yeah I had that texted to me earlier.  He is the king of the sports Massholes. 😂

 

As a University of Miami football fan I can tell you the "We're back" thing among the fanbase(and media) takes a long time to go away after you've won 5-6 titles.

 

The difference is.......at Miami it's always just a matter of the administration buying in because you can recruit a national championship contender without ever leaving the state.   NOT being a perennial top 10 team is an indictment on your commitment to winning.

 

The irrationality of Patriots fans is that the NFL is set up to create parity.   You never know if it will come back together for you again.

 

To a lesser extent we had a bit of this arrogance here in the early 2000's when we had a bunch of fans who felt the Bills being good again post-cap hell was a foregone conclusion.   Remember the "DOOOOOMED" crowd?  Anytime someone expressed reservations about Donahoe's dumb moves got assaulted with that.@PromoTheRobot, @LA Bills Fan and @Alaska Darin were some of the charter members of that club.

The thing about Donohoe's moves is mostly they were the obvious ones that were almost board consensus. To the point where any of those guys could have done it just as easily with just as much success.
