Newsome had a bad year last year but was playing well this year. Interesting/weird move for Browns. Newsome would have been a FA and Browns have serious cap issues. They could have let him walk and possibly earned a comp pick. Now they take on more salary. Maybe this is a preemptive transaction, that allows them to shop Denzel Ward in the coming days??? Quote
