Since you are the #1 purveyor of these "tricks" it surprised me that you started this thread but admitting it is a good first step.

call me out when i use fallacies.  That's not how I desire to debate.  Maybe you're talking about my appeals to authority.  That's not a fallacy if the authority is widely recognized as one.  For example, it's not a fallacy to note that a Harvard dean in a relevant dept supports the idea that tylenol has an effect on fetal neurodevelopment.

Please give us a break with the navel gazing. I’m begging you. The complete lack of self-awareness is difficult to watch play out.

It isn't complicated.

I don't believe in invented traditions.

Those invented traditions are exactly what Jesus confronted the Pharisees with.

So, while I am immensely complimentary about what the Catholic Church has done, ie., charities, hospitals, schools, missions and on, I think the theology is wrong on the periphery.

To wit, the office of the Pope, the entire "Mary" thing, the veneration of saints, and the paying for indulgences.

I don't imagine anyone will defend the selling of indulgences.  That happened centuries ago and Luther rightly called it out.  My wife likes a to say "It doesn't matter.  We're all praying to the same God.  Pick a team."   I agree with her.

I needn't encourage you to call me out.

lots of truth.  we don't always find it.  But it's there.

Read through your own posts over a short period of time and get back to us with a self-assessment.

I think you are having an episode. A very embarrassing one.

Ad hominem.

What in my post do you disagree with?

In retrospect, it's clearly #19

The disingenuousness of it. Obviously.

You have conducted yourself as an unhinged schoolgirl for years. To quote you from a few hours ago, “own it”.

Joe you have become as much a troll as anything recently. If you want to be taken seriously you gotta cut that crap out.

It is many people get all of their opinions from media spin and social media rage bait instead of thinking for themselves. For example, the same people up in arms about a warning label on Tylenol because there is only an inconclusive connection to autism that needs further research instead of a statistically significant conclusion had no problem when Fauci was doing the same thing prematurely in every single phase of COVID.  Regardless of whether they think RFK's decision was right or wrong, it should be consistent with their views of premature conclusions during COVID, but it wont be.

I blocked you months ago, but am going to say this, then block you again.

You are a knowledgeable person, as doctor you have to be. However, I have yet to see you say one thing that does not line up lock and step with the far left ideology. This is a willful prioritization of politics over science and an abuse of your knowledge because instead of trying to educate everyone with neutral and objective data and make everyone around you more informed, you choose to wield that knowledge like a hatchet to present one sided data that aligns with your political view and tell everyone that we are not to question you because you are a doctor.

You may know more than the rest of us about science, but you misuse that knowledge for self serving gratification and to demean others. That is the opposite of what science should be and you should know that better than anyone else on PPP. That is why you offend me so much more than the rest of the resident progressive trolls. Now, back to being blocked.

Well written but incorrect. Knowledge is the basis for everything. It doesn’t always result in accurate analysis or action but it’s much better than lack of knowledge.  But everyone has their area of expertise. I couldn’t get a golf tee out of the dryer filter recently ( it seems it broke before the exhaust blower did) and there are stains all over my driveway from oil changes. I can’t fix my busted mower after hitting a stump. I don’t even attempt plumbing or electrical .  But I can look at you tube and try or decide that it’s over my head. Searches on political and scientific issues are available to all.

Not at all. Quack is a doctor and is I'm sure very knowledgeable in whatever specialty he's in.

But his knowledge of science and the method that governs it is laughable. Do we all remember his chart interpretation acumen? 😂

I think this is part of the problem today with appealing to anyone with an MD in general about life science debates as "experts". Being a doctor in many cases is very, very specialized and although the breadth of overall knowledge may be wide, it doesn't run very deep outside of their narrow focus. The last time many of them stepped foot in a laboratory at all was in a teaching lab. Nevermind being given a research project then designing and carrying out their own experiments with proper controls etc.

I call him Quack for very good reason.

I routinely cite respected sources to bolster my opinions.  you do not.  I have an MS in bioanalytical chemistry so I'm not science or lab naive.
