BigAl2526 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Cut Daequan Hardy, signed Jalen Kimber and Andre Jones Jr. Kimber is a 2025 UDFA out of Penn State. He's bigger than Hardy with good speed, but has been a bit slow to develop technique and football instincts. Andre Jones Jr. Was Mr. Irrelevant in the 2023 draft. He's long and lean with average speed at best. Doesn't have great bend and flexibility. But then, this is the PS. What do you expect. I think before these transactions, Buffalo had a 16 man practice squad. Subtracting one then adding two players brings them to 17, one over the PS limit, but they get an exemption for Travis Clayton as an International Pathways player. 3 1 4 Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I appreciate fans like you who know more about these obscure players. I had hope for Hardy more so last year than this year. Seems like when you've got a PS player they stay there aside from shavers of course. 1 1 Quote
NickelCity Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Andre Jones seems to fill out the position profile of the PS well. I liked Hardy's first off-season and I'm sad for him this go around. Putting him at outside corner for snaps during this last game was especially rough. Quote
Sierra Foothills Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) I see that Jalen Kimber is a cornerback and Andre Jones is a defensive end. I guess Kimber makes sense in that they released Daequan Hardy. I was almost thinking they'd stash a kicker on the PS for a few weeks until the Bass situation cleared up. Edited August 29 by Sierra Foothills 1 Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) Jalen Kimber is interesting to me. He's a guy who started his College career at Georgia. So he was obviously a highly recruited guy. Then he transferred to Florida. Then transferred again to Penn State to finish his College career. Those are three pretty big schools to all say "yes" to the guy. And with him transferring so much, he probably never really got his feet fully underneath him - constantly having to learn new Defenses and Playbooks and having to reacclimate himself so much. There must be something there for all of Georgia, Florida, and Penn State to want him. And for Beane to bring him on at the expense of a guy he spent a pick on just last year and to take him over Zy Alexander, who was also here and had a better Draft grade going into this year's Draft. Maine-iac Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) I think they are trying to really get some speed at CB. Hairston was a 4.28 guy and Kimber is a 4.39 guy. I'm not sure that focus will pan out as they seem to draft Elam for largely the same reason and our only big hit at CB was Benford who was a 4.5 almost 4.6 guy. I like adding Kimber to the PS but I really wish they also had Alexander on there. The only turnover we got all preseason was a FF by Alexander. Edited August 29 by Maine-iac Quote

It would be very easy for the Bills to switch out another player and add a kicker any time they want. 1 Quote

People like to say that, but the counterpoint is that the timing between the snapper, holder and the kicker is fairly critical. 1 Quote
