You would. So when you can get a subset of the population to believe that men can become women and that allowing criminal illegal aliens to pour over the border is a good thing, then getting them to also believe that the orange douche is literally Hitler/Putin... is easy peasy. When considering Russiagate, it is important to remember that its perpetrators don't believe they did anything wrong. Democrats are authoritarians, and authoritarians believe we ordinary people are unfit to run our own lives and we NEED them--our elite rulers--to make the correct decisions on our behalf. When we elected Donald Trump as President in 2016, they viewed that as a tragic mistake and they believed it was their moral duty to save us from ourselves. Thus, things like fabricating intelligence reports, spreading lies through the media, obtaining search warrants illegally and the whole host of nefarious behaviors underpinning Russiagate were entirely justified (in their minds) because they crippled Trump v1.0's ability to govern, and thereby they were protecting you and me, the hapless children who needed their corrective protection. This is how these people think, I promise.
