you really don't believe he'd blow off medical advice?  NO

So,, the care of a TIA pt depends on a nurse being able to recognize afib on a monitor.  Did you work ICU, CCU, telemetry?  All

Oh look , now our dying president has gone to Yankee Stadium and is appearing at the 911 ceremonies.

You just can't accept that you are wrong.

Everyone here understands.

Added: I just saw your mistake about Afib.

Many people can live years and years in Atrial fibrillation, seeing it on a monitor wouldn't mean anything as far as a TIA

Afib is not terminal.  Far from it.  But it causes many strokes.   That's why if you have it, you're on pradaxa, xarelto or God forbid,, coumadin for the rest of your life

Imagine this series of events.  A pt is diagnosed with afib.  He gets pradaxa.  He bruises very easily.  Because of the loss of "atrial Kick" and the underlying cause of his afib,(often ischemic heart disease) and his cardiac output decreases.  He gets swelling of the ankles.  He's short of breath with exertion.  He's on lasix and has to pee all the time and needs a diaper.

Am I right?  Not enough info.  but it's entirely plausible.  And you wave it off cavalierly.

Are you really a nurse?  afib would be near the top of potential causes of a TiA.

From AI which is extremely convenient and in this cade, accurate

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) significantly increases the risk of stroke, making individuals with AFib five times more likely to experience a stroke compared to those without the condition. This is due to the irregular heart rhythm causing blood to pool and form clots, which can then travel to the brain and block blood flow.

So yeah, it would be important to identify afib.  With no afib, the treatment is platelet inhibitors and no coumadin or newer better anticoagulants.  It's possible that he's already on optimal treatment n- nothing more to add.

Refute what I said. If you worked ccu or icu or micu and didn’t know afib causes strokes or that the underlying cause is often coronary artery disease, your patients were in bad hands.
what caused the facial droop?  Transient Bell’s palsy?

see, the T in TIA stands for transient....you do know what transient means, right?

well explained in simple terms.  Just for you.

Exactly. I saw this happen a couple times with my mother. The scariest one was when she started speaking gibberish for about 30 seconds. I sat her down, she relaxed and no doubt her blood pressure dropped, and then she was perfectly fine within 2 minutes, like nothing had happened. And she had no memory of anything unusual happening. And yes, she's on blood thinners and her hands and arms are constantly bruising from minimal contact.

You dopes wouldn't know a real TIA if it happened right in front of you.

I've seen it happen right in front of me. And yes, the second time around I definitely knew it when I saw it.

glad she's ok. strokes can be devastating.   sadly, very common.  many treatable risk factors, however.

on another note, why do so many of the magas here pretend to be someone they're not?  if b man was responsible for monitoring a TIA pt and didn't know what he was looking for and why, it could be disastrous.  That said, I know many nurses who are maga.  Only about 65% in this region got covid vax despite doing direct patient care.

I will not argue with a moron.

My 45 years experience in Healthcare does not need explaining to some one who reads a few lines on Google and feigns understanding.

Meanwhile our "near death" President got up early this morning and appeared on TV.

dude.  I worked ICU's for the first 25 years of practice.  You are not an ICU nurse.  None of that was from google.  It's required knowledge for anyone who works with stroke or heart patients.  and it's rudimentary.

How did you get the Biden issues so horribly wrong with so much experience? Embarrassing.

Thanks for taking the bait.

The only three people in the world unaware of the situation were you, Frankish, and Scarborough. In reality, all three of you were just lying about it. It’s impossible to let go of that now and you are forced to continue playing the fool. I love it!
