Don't know why NE would want to trade for him. They are not close to competing for a Super Bowl. Why bother trading for a 30-year-old WR. Different story for the Bills who are in win now mode.

NE has to set up their young QB for success to really know what they have getting a top flight WR for 2-3 years would allow them to take advantage of their current rookie QB contract (you can ensure you have a plateable out after 2-3 years so that if you have to pay your QB you can get out from under the deal) and let them know if their QB is the real deal or not.

I think it makes sense for NE to do so. Similar to the Texans taking on Diggs last season. Ideally you would like a younger WR age 27/28 like when the Bills added Diggs but WR's can play at or near a prime level till around age 32/33 so if you get 2-3 good years that's gonna help your young QB.

Id do it if I were New England.

Make sure Maye has everything he needs to avoid a CJ Stroud second season after a promising rookie year.

I think they’re pretty confident Maye is good, so you’d want to sync contracts up with his timeline, but getting him McLaurin to help facilitate a jump/avoid a regression, makes a lot of sense to me.

Agreed. NE has the luxury of a ton of cap space and their main problem has been being able to spend it on quality players. He’d be a huge upgrade over Noah Brown.

Agreed.  He’d be perfect for them.

I just don’t think that Washington has any plans to trade him.  Dyami Brown would be their best annd only outside capable WR imo.  Deebo and Luke are both slot guys imo.  Gallup was retired.  I like Jaylin Lane, but he’s 5’9 and as a 4th rd pick, I doubt he’s ready for big time snaps.

If they trade him, I’ll be shocked.  Daniels on his rookie deal and 21M in cap space- trading him would be a debacle

We only need about $30 million more in cap space. Easy.

DK Metcalf has a cap hit of about $11M this year.
