RkFast Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Anyone here follow along with pro cycling's "super bowl" and have thoughts on Pogi, Jonas, MVP, Quinn Simmons, Visma's tactics or how washed up Phil Liggett is? Edited 14 hours ago by RkFast 1 Quote
Mr Info Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Yep, with it every day! Always enjoy the TdF as it also provides good ideas where to visit on the next EU trip. I hope Jonas is just keeping pace for now and will try to catch Tadej in the mountains. Thet will make the tour more interesting. We rode for a week on the Tour last year and also did Mont Ventoux. Had to compete partial stages before the actual riders started. These people provide a very nice experience if that interests anyone but it is $. https://www.thomsonbiketours.com/tdf-advance-reservation/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=10982741409&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kFGSEU1dljUqabNygoEG9a5FoU&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-NfDBhDyARIsAD-ILeCDh_8Gkg0AA0wjAPB6Vboi7r_i_d_faCZCTc8yYc1VyB6fNvbILewaAkPbEALw_wcB Quote
BuffaloBud Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Watched just about every minute except for the time trial so far. I tend to disagree about Phil. He's got buckets of history / knowledge that others just don't have and has that clear informed voice like your dad. Have been more intrigued with the breakaways and the budding star in Ben Healy. I hope EF doesn't lose him to another team. Visma just doesn't seem like it knows what it wants to do to challenge Pogi. And Pogi doesn't look like anything can challenge him. Hautacam and Ventoux will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Quote

Becuase its hell on Zwift, I cant imagine in real life. And Thomson tours is definitely the best in the business! Edited 11 hours ago by RkFast Quote

My friends and I were discussing Phil and I think hes lost a lot off his fastball BUT the loss of his partner, Sherwin is what truly has hurt him. Roll just isnt the same as Paul as an anaylist, who was just so brilliant discussing race tactics. I agree on Visma. They are all over the place. Super aggressive, which is good I guess. But that plays into what Tadej likes to do. They have the stronger team and UAE is now down a man...so whats with the aggressive chaotic racing? The idea that they are going to "tire" Tadej aint gonna work. And the Healy story is great. But EF will lose him if his contract is up....they dont have the money. Quote

And Thomson tours is definitely the best in the business! I have to be honest that I chose an ebike before hitting Ventoux. It was difficult even with an ebike. I might still be pedaling with a regular road bike. One item I recall is how dry it seems going up that mountain and you have to continually drink a lot of water even though you may not be sweating much. I helped treat a couple of riders that collapsed when they reached the peak lookout. They were dehydrated. i have more respect for the condition the riders are in. Quote
