Im only curious after seeing so many Knicks fans come up out of nowhere now.

Ive been on the boards long enough to know many here are long and knowledgeable fans.  Ditto the passion the fanbase still had in the drought.

But I do have a friend for example from Wyoming who started liking the Bills because of Josh.  I think that’s a legit reason 🙂

I was a Knicks fan for MANY years back in the 1990s and early 2000s, but after Latrell Sprewell got jobbed and Jeff Van Gundy left I became very disinterested... the game was changing for the worse, taking out defense and replacing it with 110-120-130 point per side games. It just wasn't fun anymore and I quit the NBA. Even now as the Knicks are back in the ECF I can't get the mojo up for the Knicks. The NBA just isn't the same anymore..... :(

I liked them as well in the Starks/Oakley/Mason/Ewing era.  Once they moved on from Starks and Oakley it kinda wasn't the same but yeah once Ewing and then Van Gundy left I more did as well.  Then I just became for the most part disinterested in the NBA.  If anything today I was laughing at the results the other night and enjoyed the nostalgia of the Pacers comeback.

But I always knew for the most part Bills fans were still fiercely loyal during the drought years.  It just wasn't the visual picture I had in my head for the Knicks during the last 20 or so years.

I look back with quite a lot of nostalgia now at the drought. An era when every regular season win felt like a massive achievement. Especially if we beat anyone half decent. Now the regular season games often feel very routine and I kinda miss that jeopardy.

Having a great team with a superstar Quarterback is definitely better, don't get me wrong.

Yeah, in those days reaching the playoffs felt like a fantasy.  But occasionally, we'd beat a playoff-quality team and that felt great.

I became a Bills fan during the night Allen got drafted to the Bills only because I’m originally from Wyoming and an alum there.
I had a different favorite NFL team all my other years.
I was actually a Redskins/Commanders fan my whole life and became one as a 6 year old watching them in the Super Bowl in 1983 beat Miami with John Riggins running on them. Became a huge Riggins fan and Joe Gibbs fan and was my whole life but became a Bills fan the night they drafted Josh. I still root for the Commanders but not like I used to after Buffalo drafted Josh. Any time they played the Bills I would still be a Bills fan because of Josh and have rooted for the bills against them when they have played

Main reason I root for the Bills now and they are my favorite team is because of Josh and his association to Wyoming.
Once he is done playing I can’t say for sure I’ll still be a Bills fan or go back to the Commanders. I usually stick with my same team but for now I’m a Bills fan because of Josh. I have good reason though since I’m from Wyoming.
I’m not a bandwagon fan just because the Bills became good. I would still root for them as long as Josh was here.
Of course if the Bills were bad Josh probably wouldn’t still be here. The longer I’m a Bills fan the greater the chance of me sticking with them after he leaves but he would have to play his whole career here for any chance of that. Which I’m sure he will.

I normally would never switch favorite teams but this was a special circumstance. Most Wyoming fans are Broncos fans but a lot of them are Bills fans now also.
