B-Man Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Team Trump Keeps Winning Case after Case in Federal Court by Daniel R. Street I wrote previously about the out of control federal judiciary and the measures Congress and higher federal courts could take to rein in the activist judges. One of those remedies was for the United States Supreme Court to disallow the use of Nationwide Injunctions. SCOTUS ruled against the use of Nationwide Injunctions under the Judiciary Act of 1789, as I wrote about here (though, the High Court left the door open to the abuse of the Nationwide Injunction under other authorities, such as “class action” relief). In the meantime, the Trump Administration just keeps winning one case after another. https://danielrstreet.substack.com/p/team-trump-keeps-winning-case-after?r=pax9d&utm_medium=ios&triedRedirect=true .
B-Man Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Appeals Court Overrules Judge Talwani: Planned Parenthood's Funding Can Be Cut by John Sexton There's quite a backstory to this over the past few months. It started with the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill which included a section cutting Medicaid funding from some health clinics associated with abortion providers. The bill didn't mention Planned Parenthood by name but many observers saw it as aimed largely at them. The question of whether or not Medicaid funding could be cut off from Planned Parenthood had already been settled by the Supreme Court in June in a 6-3 decision involving South Carolina. Nevertheless, when the BBB passed, Planned Parenthood immediately sued in Boston and within hours Judge Indira Talwani issued a temporary restraining order on their behalf. https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2025/09/11/appeals-court-overrules-judge-talwani-planned-parenthoods-funding-can-be-cut-n3806710#google_vignette 1
